Chapter 240 I will always stand by your side unconditionally.

Chapter 240 I will always stand by your side unconditionally.

In the room, Momo first washed up and changed her clothes. After returning from the temple, not only was her face covered in tears, but she was also covered in sweat, and her clothes were sticking to her body, making her very uncomfortable.

Su He sat on the sofa, watching her come out drying her hair. She then got up, walked over, and took the hairdryer from her hand. "Mommy will help you dry your hair, okay?"

"Okay." The girl agreed without thinking.

She hadn't felt her mother blow-dry her hair in a long time; that gentle and patient technique was truly comforting.

My mother has a very pleasant scent, but it's not perfume or any other fragrance. I can't quite put my finger on it, but whenever I smell this faint scent, I feel inexplicably at ease.

Momo felt that it was a scent shared by mothers all over the world, a natural expression of maternal love.

Su He sat beside her, patiently blowing on her hair. Her slender, weathered fingers ran through the girl's hair. For some reason, Momo suddenly felt an urge to cry.

"Mom," she called softly.

"Mm," Su He replied with a smile.

"You have to stay with me forever," the girl suddenly said, as if she wanted Su He to make a clear promise.

Su He paused for a moment, then smiled. "Of course."

But then she added, "But Momo, Mommy wants to live at the temple so I can stay with your daddy every day."

"You can come see me anytime."

She had thought about this before returning from China, but hadn't made a decision until just now at the temple. Upon entering, she felt a profound and soul-stirring shock.

Huang Sanlin is gone, and she herself has taken lives without facing legal punishment, so she can't find peace of mind.

After experiencing so much, she seemed to have become somewhat indifferent to the world. Everything has its own cause and effect. She didn't want to pursue anything or hold any grudges anymore. It was good to just calm down and accompany Huang Sanlin and her daughter.

"Mom, this won't do." Momo suddenly turned to look at her, and Su He had no choice but to stop the hairdryer in her hand for the time being.

“If you find it inconvenient to live here, we can buy our own house.”

"But I want to be with you."

"I absolutely cannot leave you alone,"

Momo's first reaction upon hearing this was that her mother probably felt it was inappropriate to live in someone else's house, after all, this wasn't something that happened overnight, nor was it something she should do.

After all, even if she did end up with Fu Yungui, it wouldn't be appropriate for her to live permanently at her son-in-law's house.

My mother has always been a very principled person, and she would definitely not allow herself to do that.

Anyway, their father left them a lot of money, enough to buy a house without any problem.

The remaining money was enough for them to live on.

Thinking of this, Momo became even sadder. Her father had worked hard all his life to earn money, but he hadn't even had a chance to retire and enjoy his life before he passed away.

Upon hearing this, Su He couldn't help but laugh, and then jokingly said, "Momo, do you mean you're going to live with your mother forever?"

Momo was taken aback, but immediately understood what her mother meant, and blushed.

"Well, that's something that's uncertain. Things are a bit complicated between me and Fu Yungui."

Now that she's already here, she has nothing to hide from the conversation.

I kept quiet before because I was afraid my mother would worry.

Now it doesn't matter anymore.

Instead, she wanted to confide in her; a young girl's thoughts are always complex and heavy.

"Momo, even if you don't say it, I can guess what's going on between you two." Su He's tone remained calm. "But remember, follow your heart and never let yourself feel wronged."

"Don't worry about my feelings, Mom will always stand by your side unconditionally."

"As long as you feel happy and content, that's all that matters."

Momo suddenly looked up. Her still-damp hair hung down on both sides, almost covering most of her face, making her already small face look even more pitiful.

"Mom," the girl called out, her voice trembling with emotion.

In this world, only she would treat her well without asking for anything in return.

She hugged Su He tightly, resting her head on Su He's shoulder, craving the warmth of her body.

How did she manage to bear such heavy suffering with such thin shoulders?

Su He put her arm around her waist and gently patted her back, just like she used to coax her when she was a child. "So, Momo, try to leave your mother's embrace and live your own life on your own."

"Life is still long, and we should all live well. Mom won't despair; she just wants something to comfort her soul."

“I have always followed your father throughout my life, and I never thought that he would leave us so far ahead of time.”

Suhe chuckled as she spoke, “So I really didn’t know what I wanted to do for the rest of my life until I arrived at the temple in the afternoon and saw your father lying there peacefully. That’s when I realized I seemed to have a goal.”

Momo felt like crying as she listened. Her mother had truly devoted her entire life to herself and her father.

Although she may feel happy this way, she has lost herself.

She nodded vigorously in Suhe's arms, "Mom, as long as you think it's good, then I support it too."

Although she was extremely reluctant to part with her mother, she hoped even more that her mother could live a comfortable and peaceful life.

She believes that happiness is the most important thing.

But then I thought, since we're all here anyway, at least we're not that far apart.

Even if they do end up living separately, they can still see each other anytime.

"Thank you, daughter." Su He reached out and touched her hair. "Okay, hurry up and dry your hair."

Momo immediately got up from her arms and obediently agreed, "Okay."

Suho restarted the hairdryer, and the girl took it from her hands. "I can do it myself, Mom."

"You should go wash up too."

"Okay, then you can go downstairs after you're done drying your hair. I'll be gone for a while, so don't wait for me."

"Okay." Momo obediently agreed as before.

Su He smiled and didn't say anything more. She then went to her suitcase to get her clothes and went into the bathroom.

Soon, the clear sound of running water came from the bathroom. Momo glanced at it, then lowered her eyes and continued to dry her half-dry hair.

Even after it was all set up, the sound of water in the bathroom didn't stop.

Momo paused there for a moment, then called out to the inside, "Mom, I'm going downstairs now. Come down for dinner when you're all ready."

"Okay." Su He's crisp reply, accompanied by the sound of running water, echoed outside from inside the bathroom.

Momo then closed the door and went down the corridor to the stairs.
