Is Chapter 23 praising my promising future?
"Don't feel guilty or anything. If you really think like that, it will only put pressure on me. Let bygones be bygones, don't think about it anymore."
Fu Qiyu smiled and nodded at her, "Momo, you are so kind and considerate of others."
"But this is a lesson learned; we need to be more careful when we're out in the future," Fu Qiyu added.
Momo nodded, "Yes, those people must have been watching us for a long time, otherwise they wouldn't have been able to make their move against us so quickly."
“Definitely.” Fu Qiyu agreed with her. “However, my father has already sent people to investigate. He won’t let this go so easily.”
Momo nodded and smiled, "Then let's eat first, I'm hungry."
"Okay, eat more if you're hungry." Fu Qiyu quickly asked the maid to serve her soup.
"Okay." Momo smiled, picked up the soup beside her, and took a sip. She had barely eaten anything since last night, and now, as she drank this warm soup, she felt an indescribable sense of happiness.
The two had only eaten half of their meal when an uninvited guest suddenly walked in.
Fu Yungui strolled in with his hands in his pockets, and unceremoniously walked to the soft sofa in the living room next door and sat down. Anu and Sawa stood behind him on either side, looking like two pillars.
One of them watched them with a grin, while the other had piercing eyes and a cold expression.
Fu Yungui leaned back on the sofa, glanced at the person in the dining room who was drinking soup with his head down, and scoffed, "He really did come back safely."
"I wasn't stupid enough to lose it again this time. Looks like my brain is still somewhat useful."
Momo knew who it was without even turning around to glance at the voice. She pretended not to hear anything, neither arguing nor responding, and continued to bury her head in her soup.
Although she no longer dislikes or fears this man as much as before, she still feels oppressed and nervous when she sees him.
In short, the farther away from him she could be, the better; she didn't want to have anything to do with this man anymore.
After learning that he had saved Momo, Fu Qiyu didn't find him as annoying as before. She immediately got up and went over to greet him, "Uncle, have you eaten?"
"If there's nothing to eat, we can eat together."
Fu Yungui ignored her and asked her directly, "Where is Pi Wengren?"
Fu Qiyu was displeased to hear him call his grandfather by his given name, but she still held back her emotions. "Grandpa should be in the study, and Dad is there too."
After hearing this, Fu Yungui immediately got up and left.
As they approached the restaurant near the entrance, he suddenly glanced at Momo. Just then, Momo was about to secretly turn around to see if he had gone far when their eyes met.
Momo abruptly looked away, her heart suddenly pounding.
Fu Yungui's extremely handsome face has a fierce aggressive quality, especially his aloof eyes. Once you meet his gaze, you always feel a sharpness that sees right through you.
Momo admitted in her heart that Fu Yungui was the most handsome man she had ever seen, but she didn't like that kind of person. She was more attracted to sunny and gentle people like Bian Xi.
Fu Yungui only made her feel nervous and scared.
As she watched him walk away, she loosened her grip on the spoon and calmed down.
After Fu Yungui came out of the house, Anu, worried that he would feel hot, immediately opened an umbrella to shield him from the sun. However, the man looked disgusted, pushed the umbrella away, put on his sunglasses, and walked into the sun. "Have you ever seen a grown man who doesn't use an umbrella when it rains? How effeminate!"
Anu, holding the umbrella, looked aggrieved. Sawa, seizing the opportunity, immediately ducked inside, grinning mischievously, and said, "Anu, if Brother Yun doesn't like it, I'll enjoy it."
Anu immediately pushed him out and took the umbrella, not forgetting to curse, "sissy."
"Damn it..." Sawa was furious.
Not long after we finished eating, the weather outside suddenly changed. Dark clouds rolled in, and it looked like it was about to rain.
The annex behind the main building was where Pion used to work, and now Songcha has joined as well; their offices face each other.
Pi Weng sat in his study, his face more gloomy than the weather outside.
Songcha sat beside his father and comforted him, “Don’t get too angry. It’s not good for your health. Pason is just like this. It’s normal for him to offend Colonel Badi.”
Shanla, standing beside him, chimed in, "Yes, we all know Pasong, and although he's a bit flamboyant, he's not the kind of person who can't distinguish right from wrong. We can't just listen to Colonel Buddy's side of the story."
"Something must have happened in between. Let's ask him properly when he gets here."
Pion listened to these words without changing his expression. "No matter what, offending Buddy is a done deal."
“Badi is a narrow-minded person. He will definitely return the favor he suffered at Pason’s hands.”
Song Cha paused for a moment before speaking again, "Badi can't go too far, otherwise we have a lot of evidence against him, any one of which would be enough to make him suffer. If he really goes too far, then we might as well fight to the death."
No sooner had Song Cha finished speaking than Fu Yungui pushed open the door and came in.
"Why did you send me here in this sweltering heat?"
Pion was furious at his nonchalant attitude, but he restrained his anger and calmly asked, "What did you do to Colonel Buddy?"
Fu Yungui straddled the potted plant in the middle with his strong legs, sat on his desk at an angle, and his cold and sinister gaze swept across Pi Weng's face. The words he uttered were also icy and ruthless, "What, did your sugar daddy complain to you?"
"What did he say? Did he praise me for having a bright future?" He couldn't help but chuckle after saying that.
Pi Weng was so angry at the words "your sugar daddy" that he almost vomited blood. "You beast!"
"You think you have a bright future? I think you're just arrogant and don't know your own limitations."
"Am I wrong?" Fu Yungui ignored his face, which was contorted with anger, and casually added another sentence.
Pi Weng sat down in a chair, clutching his chest in anger.
Sanla quickly came over to comfort him. Songcha, who was listening nearby, was also very angry, but still spoke to him politely, "Pasong, is it necessary for you to target your father like this?"
"Colonel Buddy called my dad, sounding very upset, and said that his arm had been injured and that he suspected you were the one who did it."
Fu Yungui turned around and sat down in the chair opposite Pi Weng, coldly scanning the room before staring at Song Cha beside him with a hint of mockery on his lips.
"Suspicion?" His tone remained calm, showing no surprise whatsoever. "Does being a colonel give you the right to suspect others so easily?"
"Make him produce evidence, otherwise I won't admit it."
Song Cha was also confused by his nonchalant attitude, and asked again, "You can tell us the truth. We are family, and even you wouldn't tell anyone."
