Chapter 147 Getting Angry for Her
After listening to the Third Prince's words, Prefect Zheng sealed off all of the Sun family's shops.
Seeing his shop sealed off, Master Sun was furious and went to find Prefect Zheng, only to find Magistrate Li holding a sword.
Before he could react, Magistrate Li took out his sword and chopped off one of his legs.
Everyone present was shocked; none of them had expected Magistrate Li to do such a thing.
Prefect Zheng, who was standing nearby, immediately stopped him and said, "Magistrate Li, what are you doing?!"
Magistrate Li threw the sword in his hand to the ground. "He's the one who caused the Liu family to be destroyed. Cutting off one of his legs is not an exaggeration!"
"You! You!" Prefect Zheng sighed deeply. "Someone, quick! Go and fetch a doctor!"
Master Sun collapsed to the ground, groaning in agony, "How dare you kill me! Aren't you afraid Consort Wu will come after you for revenge?!"
The Third Prince squatted down, stepped on his hand, and slowly said, "Since you want to see Consort Wu so much, I'll send you there later!"
Master Sun was startled, and only then did he see the Third Prince's face clearly. "Your Highness... what are you doing here?"
The Third Prince snorted coldly and said, "Why can't I be here? Does that mean I can't come to Cheng'an County?"
Master Sun was in excruciating pain and his voice trembled as he said, "Your Highness, I have been wronged! I really didn't start the fire, and I didn't harm the Liu family either."
The Third Prince continued to press down on his hand, "You know best what you've done. Tell me quickly, where did you take the Zhou family members?"
Master Sun was startled again, his face turning pale as he stared wide-eyed at the Third Prince. "Wh...what Zhou family?"
The Third Prince kicked him in the back, "What did you say about the Zhou family? You sent people to kidnap them, don't you know that?"
When Master Sun immediately understood what was happening, he endured the pain in his legs and, covered in cold sweat, struggled to say, "It's in a dilapidated temple ten miles outside Changliu Village! Your Highness... save me! Your Highness!"
He trembled and tugged at the hem of the Third Prince's robe.
The Third Prince kicked him away with a look of disgust, then turned and left.
The doctor arrived shortly afterward. Fortunately, Mr. Sun was in good health, and after the doctor stopped the bleeding, his life was saved.
Although Master Sun survived, Prefect Zheng still claimed that Master Sun had committed suicide out of fear of punishment, and also gave the Sun family a corpse that looked very much like Master Sun.
The real Master Sun remained in the mansion, at their disposal.
After leaving Magistrate Li's residence, the Third Prince found Zhou Ruiyuan and said, "Your mother has been tied up in a dilapidated temple ten miles away. We must go and rescue her!"
Zhou Ruiyuan grabbed the Third Prince and said, "Third Uncle, Wan Chun just sent someone to tell us that my mother has returned home."
The Third Prince paused, "Going home?"
Zhou Ruiyuan explained, "I heard from Wanchun that the bandits must have kidnapped the wrong person. Mother picked some flowers on the mountain and then went home."
The Third Prince breathed a sigh of relief, his tense emotions immediately relaxing, and a look of satisfaction appeared on his face. "That's wonderful! Let's go home now!"
"What should we do with Madam Sun, who was kidnapped by bandits?" Zhou Ruiyuan asked the Third Prince.
The Third Prince asked in surprise, "How did you know they kidnapped Madam Sun?"
Zhou Ruiyuan replied, "I heard from Wanchun that the villagers who were passing by saw them kidnap Madam Sun."
The Third Prince's eyes darted around. "Since they've kidnapped their own people, then we'll leave it at that. Let's go home!"
Zhou Ruiyuan agreed and hurriedly went to fetch the carriage.
The Third Prince sat in the carriage, pulled on the reins, and urged the horse on, not uttering a single word the entire way, only concerned with getting on the road.
When the carriage arrived at the Zhou family's gate, the Third Prince practically ran out, rushing into the house, calling out, "Zhou'er! Zhou'er!"
Hearing someone call her name, Aunt Zhou slowly walked out of the house. "You're back? Um..."
Before she could finish speaking, the Third Prince rushed over and hugged her tightly.
The Third Prince was perhaps too nervous; he was incredibly strong, and when he walked past the crowd, it was as if a strong wind had blown through him.
He hugged Aunt Zhou tightly, his face full of concern, and asked, "Are you alright, Zhou'er?"
Aunt Zhou was struggling to breathe from his embrace, and quickly reached out to pat his arm, "You...you let go of me first!"
The Third Prince then realized that he had made Granny Zhou uncomfortable by choking her, and immediately released her.
Aunt Zhou moved her wrist and said with a smile, "Wanchun told me everything. She said that the Sun family sent people to help me and wanted a ransom, but they kidnapped the wrong person. I took a side path and they ran into them. However, I picked some pine needles while I was on the side path."
"Well, that's good. Luckily, that woman surnamed Sun didn't kidnap you, or I really would have killed her." The Third Prince laughed as he spoke. Perhaps because he had lost her once, he was more nervous than usual when he waited for the next time.
Aunt Zhou hurriedly asked, "How is Master Sun? I heard you went to see Prefect Zheng."
The Third Prince replied, "He's dead."
