Chapter 165 Consort Wu is banished to the Cold Palace
At the Emperor's command, Consort Wu was quickly led outside the palace.
Consort Wu now smelled incredibly foul, and the palace maids and eunuchs around her covered their mouths and noses, some even gagging from time to time.
Consort Wu was furious and whispered angrily at them, "How dare you! Be careful, or I'll cut off your noses later."
Upon hearing this, the palace maids and eunuchs had no choice but to remove their hands and reluctantly escort Consort Wu inside.
The emperor looked up and immediately smelled a foul odor. He frowned and angrily rebuked the surrounding eunuchs, "Where is this stench coming from?"
The eunuch lowered his head and said, "Your Majesty, have you forgotten? It's the scent of the Imperial Concubine."
After speaking, he didn't forget to glance at Consort Wu in front of him.
Consort Wu had been tormented by the stench to the point of being unrecognizable. Upon seeing the emperor, she immediately knelt down and pitifully cried, "Your Majesty, I don't know why I have this persistent stench. I've seen many doctors, but none of them can cure me. If this continues, I'm afraid I won't be able to live."
The emperor covered his nose, his brows furrowed. Although he pitied Consort Wu, he simply couldn't stand the stench and said succinctly, "The Third Prince just brought someone over."
"Who?" Consort Wu quickly looked up and asked.
The emperor pinched his nose, took a breath in an empty space, and continued, "That man's surname is Sun. He once came to the palace to deliver rouge to you."
Consort Wu's expression changed immediately upon hearing this. "Your Majesty, why did the Third Prince bring him here?"
The emperor's gaze darkened. "That Lord Sun told me that you had an affair with him, and that both of your pregnancies were with his children?!"
Consort Wu was terrified and immediately knelt down, bowing her head, and said, "Your Majesty, the Third Prince must be seeking revenge on me for what happened to the Empress, so he specially hired that man surnamed Sun to frame me!"
The emperor slowly rose to his feet. "You say he framed you, but he even knows where your moles and birthmarks are!"
Consort Wu's face turned ashen. "Your Majesty... they must have bribed their way in to find out about this..."
The emperor snorted coldly and said, "Who else besides me knows about the things on your body? Your father and mother! I doubt even they know."
Consort Wu was speechless for a moment; what the emperor said was indeed true.
Seeing that Consort Wu did not reply, the Emperor continued, "He also said that you were the one who framed the Empress!"
Consort Wu suddenly opened her eyes. "Your Majesty, I didn't! Your Majesty!"
The emperor was so disgusted by her stench that he stood up and said, "I will investigate the matter of framing the empress slowly, but as for the matter with Master Sun, you had better admit it yourself, or don't blame me for being ruthless."
If Consort Wu didn't smell so bad, the Emperor might have kept her a little longer, but now he couldn't even catch his breath and thought it best to get rid of her as soon as possible.
Consort Wu cried as she tried to defend herself, saying, "Your Majesty, I really did nothing to wrong you. If you don't believe me, you can go to my father and my elder brother. They can all testify for me."
The talk of testifying or not is just a ploy to use his father and elder brother in the court to blackmail the emperor.
The emperor was furious and slammed his fist on the table. "Well, you're getting bolder and bolder, daring to speak to me like that."
Consort Wu was still hoping that the emperor would spare her because of her elder brother and father, but things were getting worse.
Enraged, the emperor didn't wait for Consort Wu to confess and shouted loudly, "Guards! Consort Wu has caused chaos in the harem. She has been demoted to a commoner and banished to the Cold Palace!"
Consort Wu panicked and crawled to the emperor on her knees, tugging at his robes as she pleaded, "Your Majesty, I am truly innocent! Please spare me! For the sake of our many years of friendship, please don't send me to the Cold Palace!"
The Emperor was so disgusted by the stench emanating from her that he wanted to finish the job quickly. "Wasn't the Empress banished to the Cold Palace because of you? Then you can taste the suffering she endured!"
"Your Majesty!" Consort Wu cried out loudly.
At this moment, the eunuchs and guards arrived, and together they lifted Consort Wu up.
Consort Wu struggled and shouted, "I want to see Prime Minister Wu! I want to see General Wu!"
The eunuchs and guards were momentarily frightened upon hearing the names of these two men.
