Chapter 214 Giving her a pastry shop

Chapter 214 Giving her a pastry shop

Zhou Ruiyuan took her hand and said, "You'll see when you come with me."

Du Wanchun turned to look at Aunt Zhou.

Aunt Zhou took the phoenix crown from her hands and said with a smile, "Go ahead, I'll look after the rice shop."

Du Wanchun nodded slightly, "Alright, Mother, thank you for your trouble."

Aunt Zhou smiled and waved to her, "Go ahead."

Zhou Ruiyuan quickly grabbed her hand and led her outside.

Du Wanchun followed him through two or three streets, finally stopping in front of a shop.

A red silk ribbon was hanging on the shop's signboard, indicating that it must have just opened.

Du Wanchun looked up and asked Zhou Ruiyuan, "Husband, what is this shop?"

Zhou Ruiyuan pulled her to the plaque, then tore off the red silk on it, revealing the words "Wanchun Pavilion".

"Wanchun Pavilion? What is this shop?" Du Wanchun couldn't help but sigh, her heart pounding.

Zhou Ruiyuan did not answer her immediately, but pulled her slowly inside.

Inside were all sorts of pastries, including lotus flower pastries, peanut brittle, walnut pastries, and water chestnut cakes.

An elderly man with slightly graying hair came out from inside. "Shopkeeper, you're back?"

Zhou Ruiyuan pulled Du Wanchun closer and said with a smile, "This is the manager here."

The old man quickly bowed to Du Wanchun, saying, "Greetings, shopkeeper."

Du Wanchun was still completely bewildered. "Husband, what exactly is going on?"

Zhou Ruiyuan took her hand and explained, "I know you like pastries, so I specially opened this shop for you. In the future, if you want to eat something, just come here and get it, because you are the manager here."

Du Wanchun's heart tightened upon hearing this, and her nose tingled slightly. "So you've been busy making me a phoenix crown and buying me shops all this time?"

Zhou Ruiyuan nodded. "But that's not entirely true."

Du Wanchun turned to look at the old man and asked, "And who is this?"

Zhou Ruiyuan replied, "This is the most famous master craftsman in the south of the city. It's quite a coincidence that a few months ago, his apprentice, whom he had raised, kicked him out of the shop. That's when he ran into me when he had nowhere to go."

The master chef laughed and said, "Yes, it's lucky that I met Manager Zhou. If it weren't for him, I probably would be homeless by now. How could I still be sitting here making pastries?"

Zhou Ruiyuan continued, "The master craftsman wanted a place to settle down, and I wanted his skills, so I kept him in the shop to make pastries."

Du Wanchun suddenly realized why the old master looked so familiar; he was the owner of the pastry shop in the south of the city.

"Then I'll have to thank you a lot from now on, Master." She smiled and bowed to him, which was also a way of expressing her respect.

Seeing how polite she was, the old master craftsman smiled broadly and said, "I should be the one thanking you."

Du Wanchun replied with a smile, "We'll be family from now on, so don't be so polite. Master, you can tell us anything you need."

The old master was deeply moved, and his eyes soon turned red.

Zhou Ruiyuan quickly picked up pieces of pastry and offered them to Du Wanchun's lips, smiling, "Try them."

Du Wanchun took a bite and chewed slowly. It tasted sweet, but her heart was even sweeter.

The experienced craftsman watched from the side, then turned around with a smile.

Zhou Ruiyuan gently wiped the crumbs from her mouth with his finger and asked softly, "Is it delicious?"

Du Wanchun nodded. "It's delicious."

Zhou Ruiyuan's face was full of joy, "It's good that it's delicious. From now on, this shop is yours."

Du Wanchun nodded with a smile, "Yes, it's also my husband's."

Looking at her smile, Zhou Ruiyuan couldn't help but lower his head and gently kiss her forehead.

Although Du Wanchun is now a mother of three, she still blushes.

She tiptoed and gently kissed Zhou Ruiyuan's cheek, saying, "Thank you, my husband."

As Zhou Ruiyuan received the kiss, a hint of excitement appeared in his eyes. He took her hand and whispered in her ear, "Thank me again when we get back tonight."

Du Wanchun's face turned even redder. "Husband, it hasn't been three months yet."

Zhou Ruiyuan continued in her ear, "Yes, it's been exactly three months today."

Du Wanchun calculated the time and it was indeed true. She guessed that her husband probably counted down this day every day, otherwise how could he know it so clearly?

That night, Zhou Ruiyuan made preparations early and gave the three children to the wet nurse and Aunt Zhou respectively.

After they fell asleep, Zhou Ruiyuan held Du Wanchun tightly in his arms.

Even though they had been sleeping and drinking together for over a year, their love for each other had not diminished at all. Tonight, just like the first time they got together, their love lasted until the early hours of the morning.

Du Wanchun was fine except for being a little tired.

But her husband was so healthy that he didn't feel tired at all, and continued to pester her until dawn.
