Chapter 284 The Princess is in Trouble
The princess immediately beamed with joy, "I didn't expect Brother Xun to agree so readily."
She slowly got up, having already ignored the injury on her neck, and swayed her graceful body to stand in front of him.
Just as she was smugly thinking she could take Wei Xun back, there was a knock on the door again.
The princess called out with displeasure, "Who is it?!"
The servant outside the door replied, "Princess, our horses have all died from accidentally eating rat poison!"
When the princess arrived, she brought with her seven or eight fine horses.
Her face darkened slightly as she strode to the door and opened it. "How could a perfectly good horse in the backyard suddenly eat rat poison?"
The servants bowed their heads and said, "Princess, the innkeeper said that there have been rats in the backyard recently, so he mixed rat poison with the daytime food and put it in a corner. Who knew that our horse broke free of its reins at some point and ate all the food."
The princess frowned and said coldly, "Useless thing, go and buy me a few more horses."
She was in a hurry to get on the road and dared not delay in any way, for fear that if she delayed even a little longer, Wei Xun would regret it.
Wei Xun overheard their conversation and hatched another plan.
He said seriously, "Horses in Cheng'an County are easy to buy, so don't rush. Why don't you stay here for a few days?"
The princess turned to him and smiled, "Alright, then I can enjoy the scenery here with Brother Xun."
As she spoke, she winked at the servants beside her, signaling them to hurry up and buy horses, and then pounced on Wei Xun.
Wei Xunchao took a step back.
The princess tripped over the chair in front of her and fell forward.
Fortunately, she had some martial arts skills and managed to steady herself. However, for some reason, her foot suddenly slipped, and she fell down again.
He bumped into the corner of the table, and a large bruise appeared on his cheek.
She clutched her bruise and complained, "What's going on today?! Why am I so unlucky!"
After she finished speaking, she sat down and picked up the teacup next to her to drink tea.
To her surprise, the tea burned her throat terribly as soon as she took a sip.
She cried out in pain, spitting out a mouthful of blood, then turned and shouted loudly at the servant outside the door, "Who poured the tea just now?!"
Her voice was hoarse because her throat had just been scalded by boiling water.
The servant rushed into the room and said, "Princess, this pot of water was definitely warm when we brought it here!"
Upon hearing this, the princess raised her whip and lashed it at them.
"It's lukewarm! Look how hot this water is!"
After she finished speaking, she wanted to splash the scalding water on them.
Wei Xun stopped her, saying, "Never mind, it's just a little hot water."
The princess didn't want to act like a shrew in front of him, so she suppressed her anger and didn't lay a hand on him.
The servants were all extremely grateful to Wei Xun.
The princess dismissed them with a displeased expression and instructed them to lock Wei Xun in the guest room next door.
After the person closed the door, she picked up the kettle again and looked at it. She found that the water in the kettle was indeed warm, but why was the water in the cup she drank scalding hot?
Completely baffled, she turned to sit on the bed.
It would have been better if you hadn't sat down, because the bed collapsed as soon as you did.
She was hit by the bed, but she rolled over and called out again, "Someone! Someone!"
With an already volatile temper, she immediately took her people to another inn.
Wei Xun obediently followed her.
The princess was pleased with his obedience, but she was arrested as soon as she entered the new inn.
