Chapter 365 The Husband's Sweetness
The doctor stroked his beard and sighed, saying, "It's already quite remarkable that the general is still alive."
Zhou's uncle was furious and sent all the doctors back.
Left with no other choice, he had to find a way to bring Zhou Zhao back to the capital and find the best doctor in the city to treat him.
"General, please wait a moment."
At this moment, the injured general stepped forward and said, "I heard from General Zhou that he has some hemostatic medicine that his sister-in-law gave him. Should we give it to him and see if he can try it?"
"Sister-in-law? Wanchun..." Zhou's younger brother muttered to himself after hearing this, then quickly asked, "Where is the medicine?"
"Let me look for it." The lieutenant quickly began searching Zhou Zhao's body.
The two eventually found the pill in the pouch that Zhou Zhao always carried.
Zhou's younger brother held the pill in his hand and asked the adjutant, "Is this it?"
The lieutenant nodded repeatedly, "That's right, that's it."
Zhou's uncle immediately stuffed the pill into Zhou Zhao's mouth.
Zhou Zhao was unconscious and couldn't swallow the pills.
The lieutenant then brought water.
Zhou's younger brother took the water and poured it down Zhou Zhao's throat.
Zhou Zhao woke up quickly after taking the pill.
Zhou's younger brother was overjoyed, "I didn't expect Wan Chun's medicine to actually work."
After he finished speaking, he immediately invited the doctor from before over.
When the doctors saw that Zhou Zhao had woken up, they were all surprised. After taking Zhou Zhao's pulse, they all showed amazement.
"General Zhou is truly a blessed man! Although his injuries are severe, the bleeding has stopped, and his life is no longer in danger."
After hearing this, Zhou's uncle breathed a sigh of relief and immediately apologized to the doctor, asking him to help bandage the rest of Zhou Zhao's wounds.
Zhou Zhao opened his eyes and looked around, enduring the pain as he waved to his deputy.
The lieutenant came over, placed the silver lock in his palm, and said with a smile, "General Zhou, you should personally take this silver lock back and give it to your child."
Zhou Zhao had escaped death, and filled with emotion, tears slowly streaming down his face with reddened eyes.
Two weeks later.
Zhou Zhao's injuries have improved considerably, and he is now able to walk.
Just then, Zhou Ruiyuan's letter arrived.
He opened the letter with trembling hands and saw that his wife had given birth. He was so excited that he almost lost his footing.
Zhou Zhao immediately picked up his cane and walked towards the military camp, saying, "Uncle, I want to go home!"
Zhou's younger brother-in-law had already heard the good news before him, and replied with a smile, "Go back. The war isn't too intense yet. Go back quickly, see your wife and child, and then come back."
"Yes, Uncle." Zhou Zhao responded loudly, picked up his cane, and immediately turned around to go back to his tent to pack his things.
Seeing his happy expression, Zhou's uncle couldn't help but smile as well.
In Cheng'an County, Zhou Ruiyuan and Du Wanchun calculated the time and guessed that Zhou Zhao should be back in less than half a month.
In order to soothe Nan Fengling's emotions these days, Du Wanchun and Aunt Zhou have barely slept, busy taking care of the children and Nan Fengling day and night.
Especially Aunt Zhou.
Then she brought out another bowl of bird's nest soup. "Wanchun, you've worked hard these past few days. You don't need to come to Ling'er's room for the next few nights. Granny Zhuang, the wet nurse, and I will take care of her."
The new wet nurse they hired this time was a distant relative of the Miao family. She had seven or eight children and was not only kind but also very good at taking care of children.
Du Wanchun walked over and looked towards Nan Fengling's house. "Mother, you've worked hard these past few days too."
Aunt Zhou shook her head and said, "It's not hard work, it's just that Ling'er has suffered. Her husband wasn't by her side when she gave birth, and he wasn't there to keep her company during her postpartum period either."
As she spoke, she began to think of Zhou Zhao.
Du Wanchun comforted her, saying, "Mother, Ruiyuan has already written to our third brother. He should be back in a few days."
Aunt Zhou was overjoyed upon hearing this, "Then I'll quickly tell Ling'er this good news."
Du Wanchun smiled and nodded.
Zhou Ruiyuan walked up behind her, took her hand, and held her small hand tightly in his palm. "Can you come back to sleep tonight?"
For the past two weeks, in order to make it easier to take care of Nan Fengling, Du Wanchun and Aunt Zhou have been sleeping in a side room in Nan Fengling's courtyard.
Du Wanchun looked up at him and smiled, "What do you mean by this, sir?"
Zhou Ruiyuan squeezed her hand, "Mianmian and Yi'er miss you."
Du Wanchun stood on tiptoe and stared into his deep eyes. "Didn't Mianmian, Yi'er, and Yu'er sneak into my room last night? What, you miss me again?"
As soon as she finished speaking, Zhou Ruiyuan pulled her along and strode back to their room, then closed the door.
Zhou Ruiyuan whispered in her ear, "Okay, I admit it, I missed you."
Du Wanchun felt a tickle behind her ear from his breath as he spoke. She shrank her neck slightly and laughed, "I didn't expect my husband to have learned to lie now."
Zhou Ruiyuan put his arm around her waist and pulled her into a tight embrace. "It's been half a month since we've had a proper time together."
Du Wanchun noticed that since she moved here, her husband had become increasingly clingy.
Even his life became more structured; he would go to the government office during the day and deal with her when he got back at night.
She hadn't returned to her room for the past two weeks, which had truly upset him.
Du Wanchun reached out and hooked her arm around his neck, smiling gently, "I'll sleep in my own room tonight, okay?"
Zhou Ruiyuan was overjoyed. He put his arm around her waist and spun her around the room before they both fell onto the couch.
The two of them lay in the soft blankets, looking at each other with deep affection in their eyes.
Zhou Ruiyuan gently brushed the strands of hair from her face and said softly, "Actually, just looking at you like this is enough."
Du Wanchun's cheeks were flushed and her heart was pounding. Who would have thought that after several years of marriage, the two of them would still feel the same way they did when they first met?
She curled up, buried her face in his chest, and gently inhaled the faint, elegant fragrance of bamboo emanating from him, feeling a warm glow in her heart.
Zhou Ruiyuan gently stroked her long hair and lightly kissed her forehead.
Du Wanchun gradually became sleepy in his arms and unconsciously closed her eyes.
Just as she was about to fall asleep, she suddenly remembered that it was still daytime. Coincidentally, a voice called out from outside the door, "Wanchun, Brother Wei is back."
Upon hearing this, Du Wanchun immediately sat up straight.
He asked Zhou Ruiyuan, "Brother Wei is back? Could it be that he wants to personally take Sister Wu and the others back?"
