Chapter 466 The Liu Family Father and Son Reunite
"Master Liu, please come with me."
Du Wanchun and Nan Fengling behind him helped Master Liu lead the way, getting him into the carriage and heading towards the Zhou family's estate.
When Master Liu got into the carriage, he was full of doubts. He looked out of the carriage and then looked at Du Wanchun, "Manager Du, where are we going?"
Du Wanchun replied, "Our servant is currently recuperating at the estate."
Master Liu suddenly realized, "So that's how it is. It seems that Manager Du and Lord Zhou really think highly of this young servant."
Du Wanchun smiled and said, "Of course, this young servant is practically our savior."
She wasn't exaggerating; Xiao Liuzi truly was their benefactor.
Mr. Liu did not ask any further questions, holding the prepared gifts in his hand, feeling slightly awkward.
This was the first time he had ever apologized to a servant, which was quite embarrassing, and he began to resent his son again.
Du Wanchun, seeing through his thoughts, deliberately asked, "Master Liu, is the concubine in your household surnamed Ma?"
Mr. Liu immediately came to his senses and nodded, saying, "That's right, his surname is indeed Ma. My son said he was picked up on the road. His family has been farmers for generations. Although they are poor, they are considered to have a clean reputation."
Du Wanchun feigned surprise and said, "Oh? Is that so? This is somewhat different from the Miss Ma I know. It seems I've mistaken her for someone else."
Master Liu sensed something was wrong and quickly asked, "Does Manager Du know something?"
Du Wanchun hesitated for a moment before telling Master Liu everything about Ma Tao'er.
Upon hearing this, Master Liu frowned deeply, quite angry. "They have some nerve! How dare they hide such an important matter from me!"
If she were just a concubine, Master Liu could naturally turn a blind eye, but now that Young Master Liu insists on making her his principal wife, that is absolutely impossible.
Master Liu began to regret his actions, blaming himself for the terrible consequences he had suffered.
He couldn't help but miss his deceased wife, and a trace of loneliness gradually appeared in his eyes.
Du Wanchun didn't continue speaking, leaving the matter unresolved.
The carriage soon came to a stop.
Du Wanchun and Nan Fengling disembarked from the carriage together.
Mr. Liu followed behind them.
Madam Miao, the wife of Doctor Xu, and Lian'er came to the door to greet them.
This was the first time that Master Liu had visited the Zhou family's estate, so he was very curious and looked inside again and again.
Lian'er came forward and said, "Master, please come with us."
Master Liu withdrew his gaze and followed, saying, "Thank you for leading the way, young lady."
Xiao Liu lived on the west side of the village. The place was usually empty, but when Xiao Liu came to stay, Doctor Xu cleaned it up.
Du Wanchun and Nan Fengling walked ahead.
The two spoke in hushed tones, "Does Little Liu know that Master Liu has arrived?"
"I know, I sent someone to deliver the message before I came."
"Is he willing to see Master Liu?"
“If he didn’t want to, I wouldn’t have brought him.”
"That's fine too."
As soon as the two finished speaking, the door in front of them was pushed open, and inside lived Xiao Liu, who was still recovering from his injuries.
Du Wanchun stopped and turned to Master Liu, saying, "Master, he's inside. Please go in."
Master Liu gripped what he was holding tightly and slowly walked inside.
He looked up and saw Xiao Liu lying on the bed. He stopped abruptly, frozen in place, his pupils dilated with surprise, his lips trembling as he stammered, "You...you...are Lin'er?!"
Little Liu was startled by Master Liu's call.
He never expected that his father, whom he hadn't seen for over ten years, would recognize him at a glance.
Although he looks somewhat similar to his childhood self, they haven't been together for over ten years, so he's probably long forgotten him.
For some reason, when Mr. Liu saw the mole on Xiao Liu's face, he immediately recognized him as his long-lost son.
"Lin'er, is it really you? Lin?"
In the past, Xiao Liuzi's full name in the Liu family was Liu Lin.
When he was born, Old Master Liu doted on him, holding him in his hands every day, afraid that he would be hurt.
But they never imagined that the child they cherished would later be castrated and made a eunuch in the palace for more than ten years.
He was born to be served, yet he groveled and served as a slave for over a decade.
Xiao Liu felt little affection for his father, who had caused him to become a eunuch and whose father had caused his mother's tragic death; instead, he harbored mostly hatred.
However, he did not show it in front of Master Liu. Instead, he deliberately became excited and said, "Father, it's me."
The word "father" sent a shiver down Master Liu's spine.
He dropped what he was holding, strode to his bedside, and looked at his body covered in wounds, his face full of heartache. "Child, my good child, it really is you. Where have you been for the past ten years?"
Little Liu's eyes were filled with tears as he choked out, "Father, ever since I got lost from you in the capital, I've been taken in by a family as a servant, and I've been doing that for over ten years."
In order to keep his identity a secret from the Zhou family, he did not reveal his activities in the palace.
"A servant? You've been a servant for over ten years?" Master Liu exclaimed in surprise, his eyes filled with disbelief.
