Chapter 50 My Second Brother's Eyes Are Healed
Zhou Zhao looked at the basket full of fish, but he wasn't greedy. He wiped the water off his face and climbed ashore.
"Second brother, let's go back and cook this fish." He smiled and wrung out the water from his clothes.
Zhou Feng slowly stood up, took off his outer garment, and handed it to him, saying, "Here, put this on, so you don't catch a cold."
Zhou Zhao patted his chest. "It's okay, let's go back first."
Zhou Feng didn't waste any words with him and simply draped his outer robe over his shoulders.
The clothes fell on him and immediately got wet, so Zhou Zhao didn't return them.
The two men, each carrying a basket of fish on their backs, hurried home together.
On their way back, Zhou Zhao and Zhou Feng ran into the two youngest sons of the Meng family in the south of the village, one named Meng Laosan and the other Meng Laosi.
The two younger sons were about the same age as Zhou Zhao, and they usually looked down on the Zhou family along with their parents.
The two of them were stunned when they saw the fish in Zhou Zhao's basket. "Zhou Zhao, where did you steal these fish?!"
Zhou Zhao snorted coldly and said, "These are fish from our own pond, what do you mean by stealing!"
Because the pond was prone to stagnant smells, the person selling the land also gave the pond to the Zhou family as a gift.
Meng Laosan and Meng Laosi looked at him with disdain, "Nonsense, if your land doesn't rain, it stinks like a cesspool, how could there be any fish!"
Zhou Zhao ignored them and walked straight past them, saying, "If you don't believe me, then don't believe me!"
Zhou Feng quickly followed behind him.
Meng Laosan and Meng Laosi were very dissatisfied with Zhou Zhao's appearance.
They strode forward, grabbed Zhou Feng by the collar, and pulled him back. "Hey, isn't this the little blind guy? Can your eyes catch fish now?"
After saying that, he suddenly pushed Zhou Feng to the ground.
Zhou Zhao was taken aback, then stormed up to the two of them and said sternly, "What are you thinking?!"
Meng Laosan put his hands on his hips, snorted coldly, and said, "I don't want to do anything, I just don't like you guys and want to teach you a lesson."
The Meng family was considered wealthy in Changliu Village, so their two younger sons were local bullies who liked to harass honest families like the Zhou family.
In the past, Zhou Zhao and Zhou Feng rarely went out and never ran into them. Now that they had caught them, they naturally wouldn't let this opportunity pass.
Zhou Feng was furious and yelled at them, "I'm telling you, you'd better not mess with us! Otherwise..."
"Otherwise, what?" Old Man Meng said arrogantly, sticking out his tongue and laughing. "Otherwise, you're not going to hit us, are you?"
He had barely finished speaking when he was suddenly punched in the face.
With a loud slap, Meng Laosan was knocked to the ground, clutching his swollen cheek and crying out in pain, "Ah! Who hit me?!"
Zhou Zhao was also startled and quickly turned his head to look, only to see Zhou Feng with a cold face.
Meng Laosan and Meng Laosi also saw it and pointed at him, cursing, "You little blind man, you know how to hit people now? Just wait and see if we don't kill you!"
Zhou Feng's face was cold, his eyes sharp. He suddenly pulled out a sickle and pressed it against Meng Laosi's throat, coldly asking, "How do you want to kill me?"
Meng Laosi was startled. He looked down at the sickle on his neck and exclaimed excitedly, "You dare?!"
Zhou Feng's gaze turned cold again, and he increased the force, cutting a gash on Meng Laosi's neck.
Bright red blood slowly oozed out.
Meng Laosi was in so much pain that he was sweating profusely. He finally realized he was scared. "Zhou Feng, Zhou Feng, calm down! If you keep cutting, someone will die!"
Zhou Feng's expressionless face revealed a ruthless intent as he slowly said in a low voice, "If you want me to let go, you two will kneel on the ground and kowtow to us twice."
Forcing people to kowtow is the most common tactic used by the two Meng brothers.
Zhou Feng has now paid the price on them.
Meng Laosan and Meng Laosi were clearly unwilling.
Zhou Feng increased the pressure, and the blade slowly embedded itself into the flesh, as if it could sever his neck vein if it advanced a little further.
"Fine, I'll kneel down as you please!" Meng Laosi shouted in fright. Not long after, his pants were soaked with water; he had wet himself from fright.
"Fourth brother?!" Meng Laosan was stunned and stood there in shock.
Zhou Feng smelled a foul odor and slowly released Meng Laosi.
Meng Lao Si hurriedly pulled Meng Lao San to kowtow twice to Zhou Feng and the others.
Seeing this, Zhou Feng put away his sickle and left with a bewildered Zhou Zhao.
Zhou Zhao followed behind him, gradually regaining her senses, and asked in surprise, "Second Brother, your eyes are healed?!"
Zhou Feng looked ahead, and a smile suddenly appeared on his originally indifferent face. He slowly said, "Yes, it's fine now. When that Meng Laosan pushed me just now, I suddenly felt a stinging pain in my eyes. When I opened my eyes again, I found that I could see everything clearly."
Zhou Zhao was overjoyed and said, "That's wonderful, Second Brother, your eyes can finally see again."
Zhou Feng smiled slowly and said, "It was quite uncomfortable to only be able to see things vaguely for a while, but thankfully I'm completely better now."
Zhou Zhao stepped forward and looked back at his second brother's eyes, which were as bright and intelligent as ever. He was overjoyed and almost jumped up while carrying the fish basket. "Second brother, hurry, let's go back and tell Mother the good news."
Zhou Feng smiled and nodded.
The two returned home excitedly.
"Mother! Eldest brother! Sister-in-law!"
Du Wanchun and Aunt Zhou were steaming flower dew together in the backyard when they heard the noise and quickly looked up to look outside.
Zhou Zhao returned carrying a basket full of fish.
Aunt Zhou was stunned. She rushed to the front room and, seeing the fish jumping around on the ground, exclaimed in surprise, "Zhao'er, where did you get so many fish?!"
