Chapter 629 Abandoned

Chapter 629 Abandoned

On a rainy night, if you suddenly see an old woman dressed strangely, you might really think she is a ghost.

Prince An looked at the old woman in the rain with a look of horror, and slowly stood up.

Guo Shi was unaware of what had happened and said to Prince An in a coquettish voice, "Your Highness, I accidentally twisted my ankle just now."

Upon hearing her voice, Prince An immediately recognized her as the woman he had shared a bed with.

He suddenly felt nauseous and couldn't hold back any longer, so he leaned over and vomited.

Guo was completely bewildered. She got up and walked towards Prince An. "Your Highness, what's wrong?"

Prince An quickly stepped back, shouting, "Don't come any closer!"

Madam Guo remained puzzled. "Your Highness, what's wrong? Are you ill?"

As she spoke, she walked toward Prince An.

Prince An looked up and saw the old lady whose face was so wrinkled it could be used as a chessboard, and who was old enough to be his grandmother. He vomited again. "Don't come any closer! Stop right there!"

"My son!"

The king strode over and asked sternly, "What is it?"

Prince An was momentarily at a loss for words. Without time to think, he pointed at Lady Guo and said, "Father, she is not my queen, she is not!"

The king frowned deeply and immediately ordered the guards beside him, "Quickly! Seize this old woman!"

Upon hearing the words "old woman," Guo immediately sensed something was wrong and quickly reached out to touch her face.

When her hand touched the deep lines on her face, her face instantly turned ashen, and her body trembled involuntarily.

She transformed back to her original form in front of so many people.

The guards stepped forward, grabbed her hands, and tried to drag her away.

Guo panicked immediately and shouted frantically at Prince An, "Your Highness, I really am your Guo'er! You can't treat me like this!"

"You can't do this to me!"

The old king turned his head to look at Prince An, his eyes full of disdain.

Enraged, Prince An shouted at Guo, "What Guo? I don't know you at all! Where did you come from, you madwoman? Get out! Get out!"

Guo looked at the man who had held her every night and promised to treat her well for the rest of his life, and realized that he had abandoned her at this moment.

Heartbroken, she pleaded with Prince An, "Your Highness, please save me this once! For the sake of our marriage, please let me go! Your Highness!"

To protect his reputation, Prince An would never acknowledge her. "Get this madwoman away right now!"

Guo's eyes were red and tears streamed down her face. It was hard to tell whether the water on her face was rain or tears. She was dragged away by a group of guards.

To stop her from screaming, a guard even stuffed something into her mouth.

Just a little over an hour later, Princess An, who had been all high and mighty, was taken away as an ugly old woman.

The guests nearby whispered among themselves.

"What's going on? Wasn't Princess An supposed to perform a dance? Why is it an old woman?"

"Yes, judging from Prince An's expression just now, he was also taken aback."

"It seems that the woman really is not Princess An."

"Then where is the real Princess An?"

Hearing their discussion, Prince An coughed twice and said, "It's all a misunderstanding. Princess An has been ill these past few days and is resting in her room today, so she didn't come."

"That old woman just now must be out of her mind. She secretly put on our household clothes and pretended to be Princess An to perform here."

"I see. That explains why the woman wasn't beautiful."

Everyone suddenly realized what was going on and gradually accepted Prince An's reasoning, slowly recovering from their shock.

Only Prince An felt his scalp tingle and his stomach churn at the thought of being married to such a woman. Before the banquet was even over, he was carried away.

The old king thought he was just drunk and did not blame him.

After a night, Prince An woke up and immediately went to find Lady Guo.

Guo was imprisoned and beaten until her face was bruised and swollen.

"Your Highness, you've come! You've come to save me, haven't you?"

Upon seeing Prince An, she immediately stood up and smiled obsequiously at him.

If it were in the past, her charming smile would have made Prince An completely obedient to her.

But now, she is so ugly that any smile she makes only makes her look more ridiculous.

Prince An felt extremely uncomfortable and asked coldly, "Who exactly are you?"

Guo said slowly, "I am your wife."

Prince An rebuked him, "Nonsense! It seems you won't tell the truth without some tricks."

"Guards, begin the torture!"

At Prince An's command, several guards stepped forward, holding red-hot iron blocks, ready to torture Lady Guo.

Guo looked on, trembling with fear, and kept begging for mercy.

But none of it worked.

Prince An used to love her face, but now that she no longer has that stunning beauty, he naturally won't love her anymore.

Looking at the red-hot iron, Guo could no longer hold back and shouted, "Your Highness! I'll talk! I'll talk!"

An Wangchao's guards gave him a meaningful look and said, "Stop."

The guards immediately stopped.

Prince An coldly replied, "Fine, speak."
