Chapter 664 The Young Couple Flying a Kite

Chapter 664 The Young Couple Flying a Kite

“Northern Di?” Mianmian uttered slowly, her eyes filled with doubt.

Afraid of scaring her, Xiao Qing'er quickly changed her words and said, "I wanted to ask you if you would like to come with me to travel to the Northern Di?"

Mianmian did not refuse, "I will definitely go if I have free time in the future."

Qing'er's face immediately lit up with joy, and she gripped Mianmian's hand even tighter.

When Aunt Zhou and the Third Prince entered the mansion, I watched from afar, not daring to disturb them.

"These two children have been childhood sweethearts, they are a match made in heaven."

"Yes, I just don't know what Mianmian thinks."

The Third Prince looked at Mianmian and said slowly, "Don't worry, Mianmian is like her mother; she knows what she wants."

Aunt Zhou only had a vague understanding.

She didn't dare interfere with Mianmian's affairs and decided to deal with Madam Luo first.

Aunt Zhou first took Madam Luo to the prefect's residence, and then left the rest to Qing'er.

The next day, Mianmian, Qing'er, Zhouzhou, and Bo Wenjun went to the river to fly kites.

Zhouzhou wasn't frightened by what had happened a few days ago. She took her kite and followed Bo Wenjun to fly it at the other end.

The wind is strong today, so we'll be able to fly the kite soon.

Zhouzhou and Bo Wenjun ran downstream along the river.

Mianmian sat on a rock by the river and looked up at them, calling out, "Sister Wenjun, Zhouzhou, don't run too far."

Zhouzhou turned around, waved her little hand, and replied, "Okay, we'll wait for you downstream!"

Bo Wenjun held the kite string and turned around to say, "Mianmian, don't worry, we know this riverbank well."

The two talked for a while and then walked away.

Before Mianmian could even warn them to be careful, they had already happily gone downstream.

Qing'er, holding a kite, walked to her side and said, "Mianmian, let's fly kites too."

Mianmian has been preoccupied with Aruo's affairs these past few days, and she wasn't really in the mood to fly kites today.

However, since Qing'er had come with her personally, she didn't want to spoil the mood. She stood up and said, "Okay, how about this, Brother Qing'er, you take one, I'll take one, and we'll see who can put it the highest."

As she spoke, a small dimple on one side of her face slowly appeared.

Qing'er's heart trembled as she watched, then began to pound wildly.

Mianmian picked up a swallow-shaped paper kite from the side and said with a smile, "Brother Qing'er, I'll start first."

As she spoke, she picked up the kite and started running.

As she ran, the kite slowly rose into the sky.

Qing'er had no interest in the kites; he only wanted to see Mianmian's smile.

Mianmian urged him, "Brother Qing'er, hurry up! My kite is about to fly far away."

Qing'er snapped out of her daze, a smile involuntarily appearing on her lips. She then released her kite and ran towards Mianmian.

He was tall, so the kite flew faster and soon it was level with Mianmian.

Mianmian pulled the kite backward, "Brother Qing'er, do you remember the first time we flew a kite?"

Qing'er looked up at the two paper kites floating in the air and smiled slowly, "Of course I remember."

“At that time, we secretly ran away from Aunt Wanchun, bought a kite by the street, and hid on a small hill to fly it all day.”

As Mianmian listened, she gradually drifted into her memories, "It's just a pity that the kite flew away later."

Qing'er held the kite string, trying to keep her kite behind Mianmian. "Yes, it's a pity it flew away. But it's good that it flew away. Maybe it's suited to a wider sky."

Mianmian paused in her grip on the kite string, then smiled and nodded, saying, "That's right, perhaps there's a wider sky that suits him better."

As she finished speaking, she let out more and more string, and the kite soared higher and higher.

Seeing this, Qing'er quickly stopped her, saying, "Mianmian, are you trying to fly the kite?"

Mianmian took two steps back and laughed, "Brother Qing'er, have you forgotten? We're still in a competition!"

Qing'er suddenly realized what was going on. He deliberately chased after Mianmian, carefully loosening the string a little so that he could stay behind her as much as possible.

Mianmian stood behind him and said slowly, "In the past, if a kite was lost, it was lost. But now, the kite in my hand cannot be lost."

She looked up at Qing'er and smiled, "Brother Qing'er, let's go back to the capital tomorrow."

Qing'er originally thought she wanted to stay in Cheng'an County for a few more days, but she didn't expect her to go back so soon.

Seeing the confusion on her face, Mianmian smiled gently, "I miss my parents a little."

Qing'er stood up straight and said seriously, "Okay, we'll go back tomorrow."

After hearing this, Mianmian continued running backward.

"Brother Qing'er, you'd better hurry up, I've already surpassed you by a lot."

Qing'er looked up and found that Mianmian's kite was indeed some distance away from him. He quickly let go of the string and tried to keep his kite following her, but not overtaking her.

The two played for a little while before Zhouzhou and Bo Wenjun returned.

Their kite fell into the river and was washed away, so they had to come back first.

Mianmian handed her kite to them.

She and Qing'er share one.

When the two got tired of playing, they sat under a big tree. Qing'er held the string, and Mianmian sat quietly beside him.

Before she knew it, Mianmian was a little tired and leaned on his shoulder to rest.
