Chapter 101 Entering the Palace to File a Complaint

Shen Youying blushed even more.

She simply didn't have the audacity to argue with Xue Shen about matters of the bedroom, so she changed the subject: "How is things... with Prince Chen?"

Xue Shen frowned and clicked his tongue, seemingly disappointed. He then gave Shen Youying a meaningful look and said, "I haven't had time to care about anything else these past two days, but it probably won't be too easy for me."

The reason they had no time to care about anything else was naturally because the two of them had spent two days cuddling in bed.

Shen Youying looked away from him: "Does Your Highness have any plans?"

Given Xue Shen's personality, she didn't think he would let this matter go easily.

If there's still no movement after two days, it's most likely that the other side has already made some arrangements.

Xue Shen played with Shen Youying's fingers, recalling the foot he had stepped on before leaving, and slowly said, "No one from the palace has come yet. It seems that Prince Chen intends to suffer this loss in silence."

Shen Youying was not in her right mind at the time, so she naturally did not know what he had done. Upon hearing this, her expression became even more puzzled: "What did Your Highness do?"

Xue Shen raised an eyebrow and said casually, "If he had been unlucky, he would probably be childless by now."

After all, he didn't hold back when he kicked down.

Shen Youying was startled, her expression growing increasingly suspicious: "He is, after all, a prince, and the prince's leg..."

She vaguely remembered that Xue Shen carried her out of the Prince Chen's mansion.

"So what if he's a prince? He was in the wrong first. Even if I killed him on the spot in a fit of anger, the emperor, who cares about his reputation, wouldn't do anything to me." Xue Shen said with an air of arrogance. "Besides, if Xue Zhan really damaged his manhood, he would be even more eager to cover it up than I am."

After all, a prince who cannot have sex cannot become emperor.

Shen Youying still looked worried, her brows furrowed in concern.

Xue Shen suddenly asked, "Are you worried about yourself, or about me?"

Shen Youying gave him a strange look: "Husband and wife are one. If something happens to Your Highness, how can I be alright?"

“Zhao Zhao is right.” For some reason, Xue Shen suddenly laughed heartily, took her fingertips and kissed them lightly: “Don’t worry, nothing will happen to us.”

He raised his head, a sinister glint in his eyes, and said slowly, "We'll go to the palace early tomorrow morning. There's someone else who's going to be in trouble."

The next morning, the couple rode in a carriage into the palace.

Because she got up too early, Shen Youying's face was pale and her limbs were weak. She was able to get into the carriage with the help of Bailuo and Danzhu.

Aside from Tingmei Pavilion, Xue Shen returned to his wheelchair. He was pushed into the carriage from the other side by the guards. Seeing Shen Youying's weak and powerless appearance, he picked her up and placed her on his lap, letting her lean against him: "If you're sleepy, lean on me and sleep for a while. I'll wake you when we get to the palace."

Shen Youying glanced at him with a hint of reluctance.

Who can she blame for her complete weakness?

Last night, Xue Shen said he would take her to the palace to file a complaint. Since it was a complaint, it had to look like one, so he didn't let her go until dawn.

When she finally managed to get up and do her hair in the early morning, she felt ashamed as she watched Danzhu and her maids tidy up the messy room.

She secretly glanced at Xue Shen, not understanding why someone who seemed so indifferent would be so enthusiastic about matters of the bedchamber, especially since she had never seen him visit any of the ladies' courtyards before…

Remembering those untrue rumors circulating in the streets, Shen Youying bit her lip and secretly tugged at her handkerchief, thinking that rumors were harmful.

Despite saying she wouldn't sleep, Shen Youying, sitting in his lap, drifted off to sleep as the carriage swayed.

Xue Shen woke her up after the carriage stopped in front of the palace gate.

Seeing her pale face, teary eyes, and listless appearance, he wiped away the tears from the corners of her eyes with his fingertips and said with satisfaction, "If you don't know what to say later, just don't say anything."

Her delicate and frail appearance alone was already quite convincing.

Shen Youying nodded, and then saw him call the guards to push him, his expression instantly changing.

Just moments ago, he was full of vigor and eager to make love to her, but now he has a sinister look on his face, and his eyes are filled with undisguised rage.

She pursed her lips quickly, then her faint smile vanished, and Danzhu helped her down.

"Bring the sedan chair here."

Xue Shen exuded an aura of impending doom, and if it weren't for the requirement to disarm before entering the palace, the palace servants would have suspected that he might draw his sword and attack at any moment.

The young eunuch dared not delay and quickly brought over the sedan chair.

Shen Youying remained silent, obediently being helped to sit down by the maid, bowing her head low and looking weak and pitiful.

In reality, he secretly yawned while keeping his head down.

The palace servants secretly observed the two men's expressions, trying to guess why the King of Qin and his queen had entered the palace.

Emperor Cheng'an heard after court that the Prince of Qin and his wife had come to the palace to request an audience.

He frowned instinctively: "Did they say what it was about?"

Qi Zhong bowed and replied, "No, but the King of Qin looked angry and his wife was sickly, sitting silently to the side."

Emperor Cheng'an summoned the two men to a side hall.

The King of Qin was pushed in by his guards. He first glanced at the palace servants serving in the hall and said in a deep voice, "All irrelevant people, please leave."

Although he had always been unruly, arrogant, and domineering, he had restrained himself in front of Emperor Cheng'an. This was the first time he had overstepped his bounds in front of Emperor Cheng'an.

Emperor Cheng'an frowned in displeasure, but quickly suppressed it and asked in a gentle tone, "Who has provoked Yuan Jin to such a heightened anger?"

Xue Shen scoffed, "You'll have to ask Prince Chen about that."

His expression was mocking: "What, Your Majesty is unaware of this matter?"

Emperor Cheng'an's brow twitched slightly, but he managed to maintain his patience as he asked, "Prince Chen has not entered the palace these past two days. What conflict have you had this time?"

"This time it's not that I want to clash with him, but that he has the audacity to drug my princess and try to imprison her in the Chen Prince's mansion to commit indecent acts!"

As Xue Shen spoke, it seemed as if old and new grudges surged into his heart, his eyes bloodshot, and he gripped the armrests of his wheelchair tightly, gritting his teeth as he said, "I may have crippled my legs, but I'm not dead!"

"Since he doesn't respect me as his elder brother, I have no choice but to come to His Majesty to seek justice." Xue Shen said sinisterly, "According to the laws of our dynasty, those who commit heinous crimes shall be exiled three thousand li to a remote and evil prefecture; if the crime is not committed, they shall be exiled five hundred li. Prince Chen, as a prince, disregards human ethics and knowingly breaks the law; his crime should be punished even more severely!"

He looked as if he was determined to kill the Prince of Chen.

Emperor Cheng'an's brow twitched upon hearing this, and his face darkened. Suppressing his anger, he said, "Go and summon Prince Chen!"

When Prince Chen heard the guards of Prince Qin's residence say that Prince Qin had entered the palace, he knew something was wrong.

Not long after, someone from the palace arrived. Knowing that he couldn't avoid it this time, he sent a message to Empress Zhou while he changed his clothes and entered the palace, his face contorted with pain.
