Xue Shen and Shen Mingjiang's group followed the narrow mountain path that Xue Shen had entered through, winding their way out.
They ambushed Baishi at dusk, and by the time they emerged from Ximen Mountain, it was already late at night.
Xue Shen had already obtained information about the guards and troops stationed at various locations in Ximen Mountain from the Bai. Under the cover of night, the group carefully bypassed the guards sent by the Third Prince and returned to the Azha tribe.
The Azha tribe was shrouded in night, a scene of quiet peace.
But Xue Shenke had not forgotten the person who had been hiding in the tent and had never shown himself.
He led Shen Mingjiang and his group to ambush the outskirts of the Azha tribe, and said in a low voice, "There are still the Third Prince's men in the tribe. We need to find a way to lure them out and clear them out before we can stay here and try to contact our elder brother."
Shen Mingjiang hadn't expected that he was still thinking about Shen Xiuyi at this time. He stared at him for a moment before saying, "We can arrange for someone to disguise themselves as a messenger and deliver the message."
He nudged the Bai, who was bound like a dumpling, at his feet and said, "He should know how to contact the secret agents of the Azha tribe."

Xue Shen nodded and watched him walk away before throwing the wild wolf he had casually hunted on the road onto his horse, cracking his whip, and galloping toward the gate of the Azha tribe with great momentum.
The old gatekeeper was awakened by the commotion. He groggily got up to check what was going on and saw a group of burly cavalrymen carrying torches galloping towards him.
He was startled, thinking it was an attack by bandits, and almost sounded the alarm.
Fortunately, he recognized Xue Shen when he arrived, and then he opened the door shakily to welcome him out.
The torches illuminated the surroundings, and the old man saw that the group of people were carrying wolf carcasses on their horses. He asked in surprise, "Sir, did you hunt down the White Wolf King?"
Upon hearing this, Xue Shen cursed gruffly in Tibetan, "The White Wolf King is cunning; it got away."
But then he patted the huge wolf carcass on the horse's back and said with a smug look, "Although we failed to hunt the White Wolf King, we at least brought back an alpha wolf, so it wasn't a wasted trip."
He rode into the camp and ordered the wolf carcass to be unloaded from the horse.
Huge wolf carcasses were piled haphazardly on the ground, kicking up clouds of dust as they fell. People in nearby tents were awakened and, peeking out, gasped in astonishment at the sight of the wolf carcasses piled up like small hills.
Wolves on the grasslands live in packs and are exceptionally fierce. If you don't have the skill, let alone hunt a pack of wolves, you should even avoid encountering one or two wolves alone, lest the lone, hungry wolf call upon its pack to attack you.
Xue Shen, with only about ten men, hunted down an entire wolf pack of considerable size, including the wolf king, demonstrating his formidable strength.
Immediately, a wealthy merchant from Wei, eager to buy the wolf carcass, put on his robes and approached Xue Shen to discuss the matter.
Although the wolf's fur is coarse, its fierce nature and difficulty in hunting make it highly sought after by some noblemen. A single, high-quality wolf pelt can fetch a thousand taels of silver, and even a less desirable one can still sell for several hundred taels.
Not to mention the ornaments made from wolf fangs, and so on.
Xue Shen clearly didn't care about the wolf carcasses. When the merchants came over to bargain, he generously said, "They were just some of the wolf I hunted on the way to capture the White Wolf King. If you can eat them, I'll give them all to you. But I want to keep the wolf king. I'll skin it and use it as a carpet for my unborn child."
The merchant felt it was a waste of resources, but Xue Shen was clearly a major customer. If he offended him, he might not even get a share of the wolf carcasses, let alone the wolf king.
Seeing that Xue Shen readily agreed, the merchant was afraid that he would go back on his word or that someone else would beat him to it, so he and his guards quickly went to count the wolf carcasses and settle the money.
Xue Shen glanced at the crowd and noticed that the old gatekeeper was not outside. He guessed that the old man had probably gone to the tent to send a message again, so he walked towards his own tent.
Upon reaching the tent, he carefully examined his clothing again, making sure there was no smell of blood that would offend Shen Youying, before gently lifting the tent flap—
He thought Shen Youying was sleeping soundly and had not been awakened.
But as soon as he entered the tent, he saw Shen Youying wearing an outer robe, standing in the candlelight, smiling at him.
Xue Shen paused in his steps: "Did I wake you up?"
He looked somewhat helpless and lowered his voice to explain, "I found my father-in-law. That charade outside was just a smokescreen to lure the enemy out; it was a last resort."
Shen Youyin's attention was focused on the first half of his sentence. She widened her eyes slightly, stepped forward, grabbed Xue Shen's sleeve, and asked, "Did you really find Father? Is Father alright? Why didn't he come back with you?"
Xue Shen couldn't help but chuckle as he listened to his barrage of questions.
“Found him. Father-in-law is fine and unharmed. He didn’t come back with me because the Third Prince sent men to kill him. Right now, the Third Prince’s men don’t know that Father-in-law has escaped from Ximen Mountain. I thought there were still spies of the Third Prince in the tribe, so I didn’t let him come back with me. He’s temporarily hiding in a valley not far away. Once we’ve cleared out the Third Prince’s spies in the tribe, you’ll be able to reunite with Father-in-law.”
