Chapter 311 Aya's Day

Xue Shen helped her put on her shoes and socks, and helped her to her feet. He said, "I have already sent spies to investigate the Third Prince's whereabouts. The Third Prince kept my elder brother here so that he would work for him. If that's the case, he won't send him too far away. He will most likely keep him by his side so that he can summon him at any time."

"I will send people to search the Third Prince's residence and the palace. If we can find him, that would be best. If not, we will have to take a longer approach and ask the Third Prince directly. Although it will be more troublesome, we will eventually find out where my elder brother is."

Upon hearing this, Shen Youying calmed down and then went out with him.

Hidden in the shadows, Aya noticed the commotion in the courtyard. She sat up, a blade of grass dangling from her mouth, and saw the two of them walking out hand-in-hand, their intimacy stirring a new wave of displeasure within her. The woman was probably visiting the royal court for the first time and was very curious about everything.

Her husband carefully held her in his arms to prevent any pedestrians from accidentally bumping into her.

The two chatted and laughed as they walked through the crowd and streets. Before long, the guards following behind them were carrying all sorts of oil paper packages.

Aye saw the woman holding a skewer of fried milk cakes, hesitated for a moment, and then bought a skewer as he passed the fried milk cake stall.

He watched as the woman in front of him ate a piece of fried milk cake with a frown. Apparently, she didn't like it, so she shook her head. Her husband then took the remaining fried milk cake from her hand and ate it in two bites.

Aya glanced down at the fried milk cake in her hand, tried a piece, and then frowned; it really wasn't very tasty.

But Aya, who was trailing far behind the two, eventually finished the skewer of fried milk cakes.
