Cage (3)
Feng Siji lowered his eyes and looked at the empty hand that Li Qi had thrown away. The lines on the palm of his hand curved into a mocking arc.
Laughing at him.
His eyes gradually darkened as he stared at Li Qi's profile. Snowflakes were flying, and she was smiling. She smiled at the boy named Shan Min and asked, "How are you these days?"
Feng Siji turned his eyes away gently and looked at Shan Min.
Shan Min scratched the back of his head, smiling a little embarrassedly. He wanted to look at Li Qi, but after just a quick glance, his face turned red. He couldn't help but take another look and said, "Everything is fine. Sister Ye Lan brought a lot of New Year gifts a few days ago, and Lin Che and I distributed them to everyone.
"We even made new winter clothes so we can have a good New Year."
Li Qi looked at the velvet blue robe he was wearing and smiled faintly: "The color of your clothes suits you well."
Shan Min's face turned even redder, and he smiled but didn't dare look at her: "You look good in this outfit too."
"Heh." Feng Siji laughed meaningfully, staring deeply into Shan Min's eyes and saying, "Does it look good? I picked it out myself and put it on her."
Shan Min and Dong Linche were both stunned, and their eyes, either worried or questioning, swept over at the same time.
Li Qi's cheeks burned with shame. Just now, she had been smiling at them, but now she didn't even have the courage to look at them. She felt uncomfortable all over, and she frantically dug at her toes, wishing she could dig a hole in the ground and crawl into it.
She had never known before that she had such a cowardly side. She was so cowardly that she dared not look at anyone, for fear that others would see all the unspeakable things between her and Feng Siji.
His ears were ringing with shame. He vaguely heard Dong Linche change the subject and ask in a cold voice, "You arrested Ye Lan Shengxiang. After so many days, what have you learned from his interrogation? If you haven't found anything, shouldn't you let him go?"
Feng Siji replied calmly: "There is no need for me to report to you."
"you!"
"It's snowing heavily and the weather is cold, so let's go inside and have the reunion dinner. The food is ready." Shan Min interrupted Dong Linche, grabbed the latter's hard arm that was about to hit someone, whispered to him not to make trouble, and pulled him into the house.
Aunt Yun also came to pull Li Qi into the house, smiling at her kindly as they walked.
From her kind smile and warm eyes, Li Qi could read the thousands of words that Aunt Yun could not say. Aunt Yun lost her speech the year Yunzhou City was broken, and she had not spoken for many years.
She wandered around Yunzhou with her son Yun Shanmin. Shanmin was initially taken by the soldiers of Southern Yan to work building city walls. He was not well fed and was often beaten.
It was after Li Qi came to Kyoto and endured humiliation to work for Zhang Zhouzhu that she was able to bring Aunt Yun and Shan Min with her. She also rescued the refugees who fled from Yunzhou from He Zhangjing, and gradually Ping'an Village came into being.
Shan Min said that his life was given by Li Qi, and he would serve her like a slave for the rest of his life.
"Look, these are the bracken you love to eat," Shan Min picked up a piece of bracken with chopsticks and put it into Li Qi's bowl. Li Qi came back to her senses from her memories and looked up to see Shan Min's silly smile. He said to her with clear eyes:
"They're not available this season. I dug these up in the mountains in the summer and sealed them up. But don't worry, I've tasted them all, and they still taste fresh."
Aunt Yun nodded at her with a smile, and as if to prove something, she took a bite.
Li Qi smiled faintly and thanked him. Just as she was about to pick up some food, she saw a pair of long bamboo chopsticks stretched out from the side and picked up all the bracken that Shan Min had put in her bowl.
Everyone at the table paused for a moment, watching Feng Siji put the fern in his mouth and chew it gracefully.
He said slowly, "What a coincidence, I also like to eat this."
Li Qi glanced at Feng Siji's profile, frowned, and asked, "Really? Do you really love to eat?"
He said indifferently.
Li Qi brought over the large plate of fern and placed it in front of him: "Then you can finish it."
"Thank you very much."
As soon as Feng Siji finished speaking, Li Qi felt a warm big hand grabbing her hand under the table.
The force was so strong that she was stunned. She turned her head to look at Feng Siji, warning him with her eyes not to do anything rash. He just smiled at her, but his grip on her hand was still tightening. The force was so strong that she felt like her fingers were about to be broken by him.
She didn't understand what he was doing madly, and tried to pull her hands back to break free from his shackles, but she saw him laugh coldly: "County Master, are you sure you want to do this?"
The threatening tone in his voice was too strong. Li Qi didn't understand why he was like that, but she didn't dare to move. He was a completely new person to her now. She didn't understand him and was afraid that he would do something unexpected.
She had no choice but to turn her eyes away and not look at him, but when she turned around, her eyes met Shan Min's.
There was confusion and inquiry in Shan Min's eyes.
Li Qi didn't dare to look at him and quickly avoided his sight.
In the eyes of everyone in Ping'an Village, she has always been the image of a strong leader. Her self-esteem got the better of her, and she was afraid that others would know that she was now just a prisoner of Feng Siji.
The meal took a long time and was very painful. Li Qi had no appetite the whole time. She only felt that the charcoal stove in the room was very hot, Shan Min's gaze was very piercing, Dong Linche's expression was very cold, and Feng Siji's grip on her hand was really strong.
She was so exhausted that a thin layer of sweat appeared on her forehead. She finally managed to get through the meal and it was time to leave.
When she stood up, she glanced in front of Feng Siji and saw that he had really finished the whole plate of fern without leaving any.
Li Qi frowned, feeling more and more that Feng Siji was a little bit...
Feng Siji took out a clean white handkerchief and wiped the sweat off her forehead in front of everyone. He also said in a doting tone: "Look at you, you are just eating a meal, why are you as tired as sleeping and sweating so much?"
Li Qi understood his meaning almost instantly. She felt her heart tremble with fear and quickly stepped back, not knowing to whom she was explaining: "Envoy Feng, you are overstepping your bounds."
After Li Qi finished speaking, she didn't even look at him. She only felt a cold and oppressive gaze pressing down on her from above, making it hard for her to breathe.
"The umbrella is here." Fortunately, Shan Min broke the strange atmosphere, stood beside Li Qi with an umbrella, and said with a smile: "I'll take you out."
Li Qi smiled back at him: "Okay."
She walked side by side with Shan Min in front and out of the house. Feng Siji followed them silently.
Several people stood under the eaves, and large balls of snow flew down from the night sky, hitting the eaves and making crackling sounds.
Seeing this, Dong Linche grabbed Li Qi's arm and said, "Sister, can't you stay home tonight? It's not like there's no place for you to stay in the village."
Hearing this, Shan Min hesitated. It was too snowy and unsafe, so he said, "Yes, why don't you stay here tonight? My mother has made your bed during the day."
If it weren't for the accident with Feng Siji, Li Qi had originally planned to stay in Ping'an Village with Ye Lan Shengxiang to celebrate the New Year this year.
Li Qi was somewhat moved, and inevitably wanted to avoid Feng Siji. Before she could say the word of promise, her hand was suddenly held by Feng Siji. He narrowed his eyes and smiled under the dim light of the eaves and the falling snow: "I guess you don't want me to stay with you, so come home with me."
His smile made Li Qi tremble all over. She stepped back and tried to withdraw her hand, but the strength of his grip on her hand increased, and the smile in his eyes became deeper.
"Envoy Feng, just this one night, I..."
"no."
He refused bluntly, turned around, snatched the umbrella from Shan Min's hand, and opened it above her head. "You'd better go home. What if Ye Lanshengxiang doesn't find you when she comes back?"
Li Qi originally wanted to argue with him, but when she heard him mention Ye Lan Sheng Xiang, she completely lost her temper.
"County Lady," Shan Min called out, looking at her worriedly and saying, "How about I go with you? If anything happens, I can take care of you."
He had already seen that although Envoy Feng had been restraining himself, his absolute suppression of Li Qi was still revealed in his every move.
He had never seen Li Qi being controlled like this, and he really wanted to follow her to help her solve her problem.
Before Li Qi could say anything, Feng Siji beside her suddenly bent down, reached out and adjusted her snow-covered scarf, and said gently, "The snow has fallen here. I'll get it out for you."
He simply took off her scarf and blew on her neck.
A slightly cool breath blew over her, and Li Qi was so nervous that she couldn't even speak. She used the scarf to cover the kiss marks.
As soon as he took it off, the bruises on her fair neck were exposed to everyone.
Dong Linche's eyes widened, "You dog official!" He walked forward angrily and wanted to beat him up. In fact, he had been enduring it for a whole night and now he couldn't bear it anymore.
Shan Min hurriedly grabbed him and pushed him back into the house. He then asked Aunt Yun to close the door and not let him out. Then he turned to Li Qi and said, "If it's inconvenient for you, I won't go. But if you have any difficulties, remember to tell me. I will help you even if it costs me my life."
Feng Siji looked at him with a smile, "Your courage is admirable, but instead of risking your life, it's better to be a coward and not cause any trouble for her."
After saying that, he opened the umbrella and took Li Qi away.
With the umbrella held above her head, not a single drop of snow fell on Li Qi.
Li Qi felt him holding her hand tightly and felt suffocated. She also felt that what he said to Shan Min was too much. She turned around and wanted to look at Shan Min.
As soon as she turned her head, Feng Siji grabbed her in his arms, pinched her chin forcefully, turned her face around, stared at her and threatened coldly: "If you dare to look at him again, I will kill that boy tomorrow."
Li Qi gritted her teeth: "Are you sick?! I've put up with you all night. If they weren't there, I would have..."
"What happened a long time ago?" Feng Siji interrupted her, a murderous look in his eyes: "What a coincidence, I also tolerated you all night. Look at Shan Min's eyes, you can't wait to stick to him, and that plate of fern is also very unpalatable, so unpalatable that I want to vomit. From the time we reunited until now, you have never shown me such a sincere smile, how about you to Shan Min?
"Li Qi, you should be thankful that Shan Min is just a lackey to me. To put it bluntly, he has no future or potential. If he were a scholar, and had a chance to pass the imperial examination one day and become a rival to me, Feng Siji, I would definitely kill him and destroy all possibilities."
Li Qi looked up at him in disbelief: "You pervert!"
"Finally stopped pretending? You've been wanting to say that for a long time, right?"
Feng Siji grabbed her collar and dragged her into the carriage. He threw her heavily inside, stepped forward, strangled Li Qi's neck, and said with gritted teeth: "When we were in Qianzhou, I wanted to strangle you to death. If you die, all possible tragedies will become impossible. If you die, you will be mine forever in this life.
"Then I'll die with you, bury you in the same coffin, and even after death I'll give you a hard time. Don't think I don't know you want to stay in Ping'an Village and find a chance to escape from my clutches? It's not that easy. The cut I made on my abdomen still hurts sometimes. I let you get away like that. What do you think of me, Feng Siji?"
He was very strong and Li Qi felt a sharp pain in her neck. She had difficulty breathing and opened her mouth to breathe hard. She beat his arms with her hands to try to make him let go.
But he remained unmoved and just looked down at her from above.
The pair of phoenix eyes that remained cold even in bed were now filled with surging waves, and all the gloom and hatred were overturned in them. He stared at her deeply, without blinking. She felt a strong hatred gushing out from his eyes, sweeping over her from head to toe.
The umbrella given by Shan Min was thrown aside by him. The snow on the umbrella melted due to the temperature in the carriage, dripping down the ribs, soaking Li Qi's clothes and making them feel cold.
Li Qi felt that he was really about to strangle her to death, and it was not unfair. If she had been treated like that by someone in Qianzhou, she would have wanted to cut him into pieces, let alone strangle him to death.
He almost broke her neck, her face flushed red, and she kept coughing. She hit and pushed him away, but he didn't loosen his grip at all.
He suddenly leaned over and bit her lips. She screamed in pain from the sudden attack.
He pressed his lips against hers and said grimly, "You were just putting on an act for me in Qianzhou. I know you don't like me, not at all, but so what? From now on, Li Qi, you can only be by my side. Even if you die, you have to engrave my name on your body!"
"Ahem..." Li Qi was about to die: "Let me go..."
He didn't let go, feeling the beating of her pulse and her rapid breathing under his palm. If he used more force, he could break her neck and let her die in his hands.
Now he controls her life, and this pleasure of control makes him inexplicably excited, as if Li Qi was born for him and will die for him, her soul, her heart, her body, all belong to him.
He also wanted to give her everything he had, even his life.
This thought actually made him feel alive.
But the next moment he realized a terrible truth. It turned out that his life, his existence, was actually controlled by Li Qi? What if Li Qi was not there? Would he no longer be himself?
This realization made Feng Siji's heartbeat accelerate suddenly. An unprecedented fear swept over him, and his hands unconsciously loosened their grip.
Li Qi quickly kicked him away, covered her chest and gasped for breath, looking at him like a madman.
She finally understood that Feng Siji had really changed. He was now a complete lunatic who might strangle her to death at any time.
She stood up and tried to run out even though the carriage was still moving.
But Feng Siji grabbed her wrist and dragged her back into his arms.
