Chapter 6 I'll kill her sooner or later

Chapter 6 I'll kill her sooner or later

Jiang Yu had already packed most of the things, and Cheng Yunxiu, being a decisive person, finished packing in no time. The family gathered in the front yard.

Jiang Yu looked at the people in the courtyard and pointed out the few who were to stay and guard the house, saying, "You don't need to do anything on weekdays, just guard the gate. If anyone asks about Qi Yuanhong, just say you don't know anything."

The group nodded, and Jiang Yu looked at the people who were going to the capital and said, "Everyone should be careful as it gets dark and we're traveling."

Everyone agreed, and Jiang Yu took Cheng Yunxiu's arm and walked out, with the others following. The carriage was already waiting at the door, and everyone loaded their things onto the carriage before setting off.

But after traveling only a few hundred meters, the carriage stopped. Li Zhong stood outside Jiang Yu's carriage and whispered, "Miss, we've spotted someone lurking suspiciously outside your house."

After listening, Jiang Yu pondered for a moment and said, "The carriage is parked in a secluded place. Let's go take a look."

Li Zhong wanted to tell her that she was a young lady and should just wait for him to handle things. But considering what this young lady had been doing lately, which was unlike what an ordinary young lady would do, he said, "Yes."

Jiang Yu jumped out of the car, then helped Cheng Yunxiu out, and the group quietly walked back. It was late at night, not pitch black, but at a distance of a few meters, it was impossible to see each other clearly.

The night was so quiet that only the sound of the wind and barking dogs could be heard. The group soon arrived outside the Jiang family's house. Under the cover of the thick darkness, they saw a dark figure nimbly unload several buckets from a carriage. After looking around and seeing that no one was around, the figure began to meow like a cat.

A few moments later, someone opened the back door from the inside. As soon as Cheng Yunxiu saw it, she rolled up her sleeves and was about to rush over. "You bastard Zhang San! I've always treated him well, and he actually colluded with outsiders to harm us!"

Jiang Yu quickly pulled her back, "Mother, don't worry about it."

Her voice was calm, so calm that even Li Zhong, who had seen many big scenes, took notice. Cheng Yunxiu said anxiously, "How can we ignore this? He might burn down our house."

Jiang Yu grabbed her, "Mother, we can only get hold of the evidence if our house is burned down. Don't worry, I'll make them pay us back tenfold later."

Everyone looked at her in disbelief. Jiang Yu stared at the man's movements and asked Li Zhong, "Have all the people left in the house been called out?"

"I've already sent someone to fetch them." Li Zhong frowned as he looked at the two people in the darkness. He had never paid attention to the fourth young lady of the Qingshan Marquis's mansion before, but now he realized that she was not only dissolute but also extremely vicious.

"Once the fire is lit, then capture the thief," Jiang Yu whispered to Li Zhong.

"Are you really going to let the house burn down?" Li Zhong asked.

Jiang Yu: "Of course, the more real the story, the easier it is to get things done."

"Yes," Li Zhong replied respectfully, even more so than before. This young lady was not only strategic, but also decisive and ruthless.

The group stood in the darkness and waited. After a quarter of an hour, a huge fire suddenly broke out in the house, and it was heading towards Jiang Yu's courtyard.

Cheng Yunxiu was so angry she was jumping up and down, while Jiang Yu stared calmly at the towering flames. Those who knew her well knew that the calmer she appeared, the angrier she was.

The raging fire burned for a while before neighbors began to notice, and chaos ensued. Just then, guards from the Duke of Chu's mansion arrived, escorting two men to the ground. The two men were pushed to the ground and forced to kneel before Jiang Yu.

Both men were bound, their mouths gagged, trying to speak but unable to make a sound. They looked up at Jiang Yu in terror, seemingly not expecting to see her here.

Jiang Yu glanced down at them, then turned to Li Zhong and said, "Take the people and set off."

She turned and walked towards the carriage. Cheng Yunxiu looked at the raging fire, kicked the two men hard, and then followed Jiang Yu away. They got into the carriage and continued their journey in the darkness.

Inside the car, Jiang Mingchang muttered to himself, "There are so many valuable things in the house, it's such a waste to just burn them like that."

Cheng Yunxiu slapped him, "Stop talking nonsense, just listen to your daughter."

She said this through gritted teeth, and Jiang Mingchang looked at Jiang Yu and smiled, "Dad just feels sorry for those things."

Jiang Yu gave him a reassuring smile, "Father, don't you know me? When have I ever suffered a loss?"

Jiang Mingchang chuckled, "Dad knows his daughter is the smartest."

Jiang Yu smiled and closed her eyes, thinking about what to do next.

......

The April morning was still a bit chilly. As Granny Yang came out of her room at the inn, she rubbed her hands together and headed towards the inn's backyard. Her son, Yang Tianfu, was in charge of taking care of the horses on this trip.

After searching the backyard, they couldn't find Yang Tianfu. They assumed he might have gone to the outhouse. Yang Mama didn't think much of it and told the stableman, Old Zhang, "When Tianfu comes back, tell her to come find me."

Old Zhang, the stableman, looked surprised when he heard her words. "Granny Yang, don't you know? Your Tianfu didn't come back yesterday."

Granny Yang was startled. "How come I didn't know?"

Old Zhang, the groom: "Yesterday at the gate of the Jiang family, the fourth young lady instructed Tianfu to do it."

Granny Yang thought for a moment; she hadn't been with Su Yuezhen for a while because she had gone to give other instructions. The thought that Su Yuezhen might have ordered her son to kill Jiang Yu made her hurry towards the guest room. Thinking of Su Yuezhen's impulsive nature, a cold sweat broke out on her back.

She ran all the way to Su Yuezhen's guest room, suppressing her inner panic, and pushed the door open. Su Yuezhen was having her maid comb her hair in front of the mirror. She walked over and said softly, "Miss, I heard you asked my boy to do something yesterday?"

Su Yuezhen paused in her hand, which was playing with the comb, after hearing this. "Yes, let him take care of something."

"What did you send him to do? He hasn't come back yet." Granny Yang's voice was anxious, but Su Yuezhen was very impatient. "I sent him to teach Jiang Yu's family a lesson. He must have been delayed on the way."

Granny Yang was so angry that her hands trembled, but she still spoke in a calm voice: "Tell him to teach Jiang Yu's family a lesson however he wants."

Su Yuezhen: "Burn Jiang Yu to death."

The room fell silent for a moment, then came Yang Mama's somewhat shrill voice, "My lady, what if Jiang Yu wasn't burned to death?"

Su Yuezhen replied casually, "It's lucky she didn't burn to death. I'll kill her sooner or later."

"But what if my Tianfu gets arrested if Jiang Yu doesn't die?" Granny Yang said anxiously.

Su Yuezhen was taken aback for a moment, then waved her hand and said, "Don't worry, Granny Yang, even if your son is arrested, I can still rescue him. It's just that I don't know if Jiang Yu is dead or not."

"Who's dead or not?" Qi Yuanhong's voice rang out. Su Yuezhen snorted and turned to look at herself in the mirror. "None of your business."

"No one, Miss is just joking with us." Granny Yang lowered her head and went out. Qi Yuanhong glanced at her back suspiciously, then said, "Hurry up and pack up to leave."

Su Yuezhen didn't say anything, and Qi Yuanhong didn't pay any attention either, returning to his own room.
