Chapter 72 The Mystery of the Iceberg
Coming to the third stage of the copy, the main task given by the system is to "investigate the truth about the sinking of the Titanic in 1912."
In order to complete this task, Anson Lu and Asuka wandered around the ship.
………………
………………
December 26, noon, Titanic, G deck, a room in the lower class cabin.
"Hello, Brother Ghost." Anson Deer raised his eyebrows and said, "Well, I just want to ask, how did the Titanic collapse?"
"I don't know. I just heard a loud noise, and then the cabin was penetrated by something. The sea water filled it and drowned me. I couldn't escape." The ghost turned his head, revealing a mutilated face.
Asuka Uesugi's shoulders trembled slightly, she took two steps back and looked at the sky outside the window.
"Oh, okay, sorry to bother you." Anson Lu sighed and walked out of the room.
"How about it?"
"It seems that the ghosts in the lower class cabins all have similar stories. They say they died without seeing anything."
"Is it really that exaggerated? There were many survivors of the sinking of the Titanic."
"Who knows what this system is doing." Anson Deer muttered and walked towards the light elevator. "Let's go to the upper deck and take a look. Maybe they know something."
"Okay." Asuka Uesugi walked into the elevator.
The elevator closed, and the cheeks of the boy and girl were shrouded in a faint orange-yellow halo. Comfortable jazz music inexplicably sounded in the elevator, as if it was intentional by the game system.
Titanic's D deck.
Anson Deer walked to the middle cabin, found a reception room, and looked at a ghost sitting inside. The ghost was dressed fairly decently and was sitting with his legs crossed, reading a newspaper.
"Well, Mr. Ghost, I want to ask you, do you still remember the details of the collapse of the Titanic?"
"No, no, don't remind me of that, let me forget it!" The ghost put down the newspaper, hugged his head and growled, "The dragon, the dragon, it brought the iceberg, it destroyed everything!"
"ha?"
"ha?"
Anson Lu and Asuka tilted their heads at the same time, and their heads bumped into each other.
"Are you sick?" Asuka covered her head and asked with a frown.
"No, can you please not imitate me?" Anson Lu rubbed his head.
He turned around and continued to ask the ghost: "Excuse me, what does dragon mean? You don't mean... a dragon appeared in the Atlantic Ocean in 1912?"
"Yes, absolutely, it was this that destroyed the previous Titanic," said the Ghost.
Anson Lu and Asuka looked at each other subconsciously.
"What does that dragon look like?" Asuka asked.
"White scales, icy steam..." the ghost said slowly, "it created the iceberg and used it to cut off the Titanic. I can't escape."
The two people in the living room were stunned at the same time.
"Wait, white scales?" Asuka Uesugi put her hand on her chin, "It can't be talking about..."
"In the world boss preview," Anson Lu said in a daze, "is there a giant dragon that's about to descend on Tokyo?"
"What does this mean..." Asuka frowned, "The dragon that might only appear in June 2026 suddenly ran to the Atlantic Ocean in 1912 and destroyed the Titanic?"
"What else do you know?" Anson Lu took a deep breath.
"I don't know anything." The ghost looked very painful. It held its head tightly, almost pinching the back of its head to bleed. "Don't ask me, I beg you!"
"Okay." Anson Lu was silent for a moment, "It's okay, we have other people to ask."
"Is there a possibility that the system is playing a trick on us?" Asuka said calmly, "This Titanic is fake, and these ghosts are also made by the system. It just wants us to guess. In fact, these things have nothing to do with the real event in 1912."
"Have you ever thought about why you have dragon blood?" Anson Deer asked, "Your father and mother kept silent about it, but the answer is obvious now."
Uesugi Asuka was silent for a moment, then said, "You mean... the Evolution Game existed many years ago?"
"Maybe so." Anson Deer thought for a moment and said:
"It's ridiculous anyway. We humans are like livestock in captivity, and those guys standing in the sky can change our world at will."
“So, the sinking of the Titanic is really related to evolutionary events?”
"It's just a possibility. Don't make blind guesses. Let's finish the third stage of the dungeon first."
The two walked into the light elevator and chose Deck B.
Deck B is basically occupied by upper-class passengers, so even after they die, these ghosts still dress elegantly and speak gracefully.
Anson Deer had explored the Titanic with Asuka before, and knew the locations of these ghosts very well. Their behavior would not change most of the time.
The two came to one of the rooms in the first class cabin and found a ghost playing with a telescope.
"Um, this Mr. Telescope." Anson Deer said.
"What's up, kid?"
The ghost turned his head, opened his bloody mouth and revealed a warm smile.
“How did the Titanic sink?”
Get straight to the point.
The ghost stopped smiling and his expression gradually became serious. "It was one night. I couldn't fall asleep at that time. I looked out the window. Suddenly, a huge object appeared in the sky."
"That huge object..." Asuka Uesugi frowned, "Is it a dragon?"
Anson Deer seemed to want to ask the same question, so he closed his lips which had just opened.
"No, it's not a dragon. I don't know if it's a scale or something, it emits a strong light!" The ghost said excitedly, "It's not a dragon, but it brought a dragon!"
"ah?"
Anson Lu and Asuka looked at each other again.
The situation seems to be getting more and more complicated.
"What else?" Anson asked, "Sir, what else did you see?"
"Not only a dragon, I saw a young man through the telescope." The ghost said hoarsely:
"Shadows were flowing around the boy. He was like a god, manipulating strange forces and leading an army that descended from the sky to fight the dragon in the Atlantic Ocean."
"Hey, hey, hey, what's going on?" Asuka was confused.
"I don't know either..." Anson Lu asked, "Sir, does that boy have any other characteristics?"
"I didn't have time to observe too much. The dragon released its power and created an iceberg. The Titanic hit the iceberg head-on and nearly half of the people on board died instantly." The ghost said hoarsely.
"I told you, this is bullshit." Asuka shrugged. "Just think of it as an elementary school story made up by the system."
Anson put his hand on his chin and concluded:
"First there was a giant object that glowed, then the object brought with it a dragon, and the boy, he also had an army that descended from the sky?"
“Wait…wait!”
The ghost suddenly took two steps back, its broken pupils shrank to the extreme, and blood flowed out.
"It's you... it's you, the one who brought the dragon here!"
Asuka Uesugi was stunned for a moment, and couldn't help but cover her mouth with her hands and laughed:
"Ha, ha ha... How funny, Anson Deer, you were a dragon slayer in 1912?"
"It's you, I definitely wasn't mistaken!" the ghost growled.
"Are you kidding me?" Anson Lu pointed at himself and squinted his eyes and said, "My great aunt wasn't even born in 1912. I can't come back a century later to be a badass, okay?"
"I saw it with a telescope at the time." The ghost clenched the telescope in his hand and said in a horrified tone: "That was you... There is absolutely no mistake!"
"Hahahaha!" Asuka pounded the wall and laughed even louder.
