The subtle fragrance of jasmine emanating from her body wafted into his nostrils, a refreshing scent that seemed to be tantalizing him.
Li Zhanting's earlobes flushed red, and he frowned, wanting to push Gu Momo away.
"Men and women should not touch each other, don't you know that? Get out of the way."
Gu Momo glanced at the unease in his deep eyes, a playful smile curving her brows and eyes: "You said it yourself, so you're not allowed to stop me later."
As she spoke, she prepared to withdraw her hand from Li Zhanting's neck.
Li Zhanting, anticipating her attempt to escape, narrowed his eyes and forcefully pulled Gu Momo towards him again with his large hand:
"You think you can just leave like that? You haven't even admitted it yourself, that you're the Ghost Hand Saint Doctor!"
Gu Momo's eyes fell on the hand he was holding, and her smile became even more playful.
This man clearly didn't want any physical contact with her, yet he still didn't want to let her go; it seems he was really going all out.
She gently wrapped her arms around Li Zhanting's neck, smiling sweetly: "Then Mr. Li, tell me first, what reward will you give me if I admit it? If I admit it, will you agree to let me become Mrs. Li? Then I can admit it immediately."
Her voice was so beautiful that Li Zhanting forgot to push her away.
When she came to her senses, Li Zhanting immediately grabbed her fidgeting hand: "Stop talking nonsense. Mrs. Li is not someone you can covet."
The two were locked in a fierce struggle when, at that moment...
Li Zhanting suddenly groaned and took a step back, leaning towards Gu Momo.
Li Qingling wore two small buns, a light yellow dress that made her look youthful and beautiful, and white patent leather shoes that still shone brightly under the dim light.
She stood between the two of them, her back to Gu Momo, and stretched out her small hands to protect her behind her, questioning, "Daddy, what do you want to do to the pretty auntie?"
Li Zhanting looked at his dirty leather shoes, feeling annoyed but reluctant to say a harsh word to his daughter. His handsome face was full of helplessness.
"Ling'er, this is a matter for adults."
"What matters to the pretty aunt is my matter. Ling'er won't let Daddy bully the pretty aunt!" Ling'er vowed solemnly, displaying an air of righteous indignation that if Li Zhanting remained obstinate, she would sacrifice her own family for the greater good.
Li Zhanting, the biological father, was truly on the verge of tears.
How could his own daughter want to attack her own father for the sake of an outsider?
When Gu Momo saw her daughter standing safely in front of her, she was both surprised and delighted, and had no mood to pay attention to Li Zhanting anymore.
She knelt down and turned Ling'er's body to face her, saying softly, "Ling'er, are you feeling alright anywhere?"
Ling'er replied, seemingly understanding but not quite, "Pretty auntie, Ling'er is fine, Ling'er is perfectly alright!"
"That's good." Gu Momo breathed a sigh of relief.
When Li Zhanting brought his daughter to the hospital in such a hurry, she thought something terrible had happened.
Li Zhanting watched as his precious son abandoned his own father to talk to another woman, and he was consumed with jealousy.
This is his precious daughter, how dare Gu Momo touch her?
He still dares to pet her? He still dares to smile so gently at Ling'er?
Li Zhanting was consumed by jealousy. He gently pulled Ling'er into his arms, deliberately keeping his daughter at a distance from Gu Momo.
"Whether you are a miracle doctor or not, I need you to take care of a patient for me. Name your terms."
Gu Momo raised her head in displeasure and glared at him.
Does she think she's a maid who's at your beck and call? Her time is precious, you know.
But when she thought of what Li Zhanting had said—that she could name her own terms—she inexplicably began to waver.
She came here for Ling'er. Although Ling'er seems to be fine now, she can't guarantee that she can get there in time if Ling'er has an attack later.
The best way is to take this opportunity to completely cure Ling'er's asthma.
"Alright, since you've brought it up, I won't stand on ceremony." Gu Momo's lips curled slightly. "I'm going to stay with Ling'er for a while."
Upon hearing this, Li Zhanting's handsome face turned as black as ink.
He assumed that Gu Momo would definitely propose conditions related to money or status.
However, he never expected that her request would be to live with Ling'er for a period of time.
After she appeared in front of Ling'er, he, as her father, had already fallen out of favor. If Gu Momo spent more time with Ling'er, wouldn't he, as her father, be completely banished to the cold palace?
So sour! Li Zhanting is really sour!
Li Qingling's round eyes crinkled with laughter as she excitedly snuggled into Gu Momo's arms, "Great! Great! Ling'er is willing! Ling'er likes living with pretty auntie!"
Li Zhanting frowned as he looked at his little traitorous daughter, his face turning pale and then purple.
He could almost picture the miserable scene of being abandoned in a corner by his beloved daughter...
“Ling’er…” Li Zhanting tried to persuade her to stay.
Look at your poor daddy, he's heartbroken...
Li Qingling's delicate face was full of disdain: "Daddy, are you afraid that Ling'er will be taken away by a pretty aunt? Daddy, you're so stupid. As Ling'er's biological father, you don't even have this much self-confidence."
Li Zhanting: "..."
That's enough, being disliked by my own daughter is unacceptable!
He almost gritted his teeth as he agreed: "Okay, I promise you."
Gu Momo curled the corners of her lips, not surprised by Li Zhanting's answer.
Then, she squatted down again and said to her daughter in a gentle tone, "Ling'er, be good~ Go back with your father today and pack your things. Auntie will come to your house to pick you up tomorrow, okay?"
