Fu Ying spoke succinctly, but when she mentioned the words "savior" again, her tone became exceptionally calm, and the proud light in her eyes had been extinguished along with the days she was trapped in the Si family manor.
"He wouldn't be the person you've always liked, would he?" Dr. He joked.
Fu Ying used to be a "die-hard fan" of Ye Sijue, and Gu Momo's close subordinates all knew that she had been pursuing him for a long time.
In the past, if her colleagues had joked like this, she would have lowered her head in embarrassment. But now, Fu Ying replied expressionlessly, "In the past."
Dr. He was somewhat embarrassed, but fortunately, the bullet had already been removed from Ye Sijue's body during the conversation.
Fuying finally breathed a sigh of relief as she watched the bullet, stained with dark red blood and held by tweezers, being thrown into the tray.
"Next, all we need to do is stitch up the wound." Dr. He took out a cosmetic needle and began stitching up the wound.
After this stage, when the support was no longer needed, she used tweezers to place the bullet into a towel and wrap it up.
"What? Are you going to keep it as a souvenir?"
Fu Ying shook her head. "I want to try and see if I can use this as a clue to investigate their weapons supply channels."
"Dr. He, I'm leaving him in your care. Please wait until his condition improves and then contact someone to take him to the hospital."
"Leave it to me?" Dr. He looked completely bewildered. "Where are you going?"
"I don't want him to see me when he wakes up."
Looking at Fu Ying's preoccupied face, Dr. He sighed and reluctantly agreed, "Alright."
......
Half an hour later, the anesthesia wore off for Ye Sijue, and a tearing pain shot through his shoulder, causing him to groan and wake up from his unconscious state.
Fuying was stirring the fire in front of him with a stick to make it burn brighter.
Hearing that Ye Sijue had woken up, she looked at the crackling flames in front of her and didn't even turn her head. "Since you're awake, eat something. The pancake should still be warm. Luckily, we're not far from the city center, otherwise you would have had to eat wild fruits."
Ye Sijue endured the pain and got up, completely unable to believe what he was seeing.
His wounds had all been treated, and he was covered with Fuying's coat.
"Fuying, you don't blame me anymore?" he asked cautiously.
Fu Ying turned around, pouting playfully, "Who said I don't blame you? I don't want to see you for even a second. If you hadn't saved me, do you think I would be willing to stay here watching over you?"
Ye Sijue could tell she was just being stubborn. Despite the pain, he knelt down beside her, his hands awkwardly unsure of what to do. "I'm sorry, Fuying. It's all my fault. Please forgive me."
"No way! I don't want to forgive you. Is begging for my forgiveness just empty talk?"
"Then... what do you want me to do? I'll do whatever you ask, even if it costs you my life..."
Before Ye Sijue could finish speaking, Fu Ying quickly raised her hand to cover his mouth, "Don't talk nonsense! I went through so much trouble to save you! If you say anything like that again, I'll never forgive you!"
Seeing the genuine worry for him and the fear of losing him in Fu Ying's eyes, Ye Sijue finally realized that she must have feelings for him.
He grabbed Fuying's hand that was covering her lips, reached out and put his arm around her waist, pulling her into his embrace.
"I'll be fine, I promise you. I'll spend the rest of my life making it up to you. From now on, I'll do whatever you ask me to do, and I'll never do anything you forbid me to do. I'll listen to you, okay?"
The person in his arms stopped struggling, her small hands slowly wrapped around his waist, and her voice gradually softened, "Ye Sijue, you're so late. Do you know how hard it was for me to wait for you?"
"I know, I know, it's all my fault. I'm late. Please forgive me." Ye Sijue's face was pressed against her neck. Her hair had a faint milky scent, which was like a fatal attraction.
"Hmph! Don't think I'll forgive you just because you say that. If I forgave you that easily, wouldn't I be at a huge loss?" Fu Ying lifted her head from his embrace and raised an eyebrow as she spoke.
Ye Sijue grew anxious. He patted himself down and realized he didn't have a single decent gift to offer as an apology. He looked at Fu Ying with a troubled expression and pleaded in an almost humble tone, "I promise you, once we leave here, I'll make it up to you, okay? You can have anything you want!"
The girl's previously angry face suddenly blossomed into a bright, sunny smile. "Alright! I was just kidding! I don't need you to give me anything. Anyway, all your people will be mine in the future, so I'm not in a hurry!"
"My person?" Ye Sijue was stunned for a second. After realizing what Fu Ying meant, he was overjoyed and asked again in a trembling voice, "So, you...you've forgiven me?"
"Okay." Fu Ying nodded. "But you can't treat me badly just because I forgave you."
"No, I will keep my word," Ye Sijue solemnly swore.
...
Ye Sijue's injuries healed quickly, and on the day Fuying moved out of the Ye family, Ye Sijue drove to pick her up.
A happy smile spread across her face, but before she got into the car, Gu Momo came to see her off, and she cried like a baby.
Ye Sijue hugged her tightly, feeling sorry for her. "It's alright. I can come back with you often in the future."
"You'd better be right, Ye Sijue. If you dare to betray my Fuying, I will not let you go, even if I have to kill you to the ends of the earth." Gu Momo leaned against the car window and warned him through gritted teeth.
