Her gaze followed Nie Yu as he disappeared around the corner of the teaching building. Looking down at the pile of broken earphones, she noticed bright red bloodstains.
She didn't understand why people would treat someone this way just because their personality was unlikable. Wasn't this just like the school bullying often depicted in movies?
Li Qingling didn't want to listen anymore, so she made an excuse to go to the restroom and chased after Nie Yu to the place where he had just disappeared.
As she rounded the corner, she discovered a hidden gem behind the school building. Under several blooming peach trees stood a beautifully carved stone table and benches, with petals falling gracefully. Behind them, a series of steps led down to the underground parking garage. The railings on either side were rusty, and Nie Yu sat on the steps, her back view appearing weak and forlorn.
"Are you alright?" Li Qingling tentatively walked over and asked in a low voice.
"Don't come any closer." Nie Yu coldly stopped her as soon as she took a step.
His voice was more mature than his peers', and although it still had a touch of childishness, it always gave people a different feeling.
"I know you're hurt." If it were any other female classmate, she would have been frightened by Nie Yu's cold tone and run away crying. But Li Qingling was no ordinary little girl. She boldly sat down next to Nie Yu and grabbed his wrist.
Nie Yu turned his head and subconsciously withdrew his hand, but the fleeting tenderness in his eyes betrayed him.
"Don't be afraid, I'm not like them. I won't laugh at you or bully you. If I accidentally hurt my hand, I'll cry from the pain. But you're bleeding, so it must hurt a lot, right?" Li Qingling grabbed his wrist again and took out her handkerchief from her school uniform pocket.
