Chapter 1330 The Sad Cloud
I initially thought it was one of the disciples from the mountainside who had come to deliver something to their junior brother.
When Zhang Chengxuan saw a figure running and stopping on the winding stone steps, holding a large bamboo broom and sweeping the snow underfoot to the sides from time to time, he was stunned.
It felt like a soft fist had struck my heart. I stood there, looking at that no longer young figure, and my eyes welled up with tears.
How did he find this child?
Did he discover it himself, or did someone tell him?
But when Zhang Chengxuan saw that surprised, aggrieved, and sad face, he knew that Changyun had guessed it himself.
Changyun ran up the steps quickly, taking three steps at a time. When she reached Zhang Chengxuan, she threw the broom aside, bent over, put her hands on her knees, and cried and gasped for breath. Her cheeks quickly turned red, followed by violent coughing.
"Slow down, be careful not to get a stitch." Zhang Chengxuan patted his back. "How did you find your way here?"
"Senior brother, who's here..."
As Song Chunxue stepped out the door, she was suddenly struck by the sight of Changyun's tear-streaked face, and her feet seemed rooted to the spot, unable to move.
"Master!"
"Waaaaah, Master, Master, you really are here! Ah~ Master, you tricked me so badly."
Upon seeing Song Chunxue, Changyun immediately knelt down and refused to get up, crying like a child despite being forty-one years old.
Seeing her apprentice whom she hadn't seen for many years, Song Chunxue was deeply moved. When she went up to him, tears streamed down her face uncontrollably.
"How old are you now? You've grown taller and stronger. What have you been training for the past twenty years?" Song Chunxue patted his strong arm. "If you hadn't called me Master, I almost wouldn't have recognized you."
It's said that girls change a lot as they grow up, but boys change a lot too.
Having shed his youthful and immature appearance, Changyun now looks like a true man, far superior to his fellow disciples.
"Waaah, Master, you've actually forgotten how old I am... But... it's alright, I'm forty-one this year. Ever since I lost you, I've been working hard and cultivating ever since," he said, patting his chest with pride. "I dare say that in the Northwest, no one's alchemy skills can surpass mine, Master..."
As he spoke, he bent down and hugged Song Chunxue, crying uncontrollably.
Song Chunxue felt tears falling on her shoulder. Her calm and undisturbed emotions over the years surged violently, and all the suppressed and soothed feelings welled up, causing her to sob as well.
But how come this kid is so burly now? It feels like if he were to encounter such a tall opponent, needless to say, if he used a little more force, he could break her bones.
After a while, Changyun calmed down and wiped away her tears shyly. "Master, I want to see your residence... oh... this gate is so low."
“Tsk,” Zhang Chengxuan patted his shoulder from behind, frowning and saying seriously, “Your master never intended for anyone else to enter her courtyard. It’s the gate, after all. The first time I came here, I almost had my scalp scraped off. It hurt so much that I jumped around a few times. You have a big forehead, so it probably hurts even more.”
Changyun covered his head, laughing and crying at the same time, "Ouch... I bent down, but I still couldn't defend myself. I feel like I could tear this yard apart with one hand~ Hahaha!"
Song Chunxue said helplessly, "You can still laugh? Who told you to grow so tall? I really didn't expect anyone to come to my little courtyard. Even if they did, I would have taken you to stay at an inn down the mountain."
"No!" Changyun strongly objected. "I don't want to stay at an inn, Master..."
As he spoke, his nose tingled and his eyes reddened, and he looked up to wipe away his tears again.
Song Chunxue felt heartbroken. "Don't cry, don't cry. There's a place for you to stay. How about I clear out Stubborn Donkey's territory for you?"
“No, that won’t do. I’ll clean up your woodshed.” Zhang Chengxuan rolled up his sleeves. “You two, master and disciple, have a good chat. I’ll clean up the woodshed. We’ll stay in that room tonight.”
"Thank you for your help, Uncle-Master. I'll come back to help later." Changyun burst into tears again after only a few words. "You lied to me, sob sob, you're so cruel... If I hadn't discovered every year on this day that Uncle-Master would leave, I might have been deceived for even longer..."
Twenty years! Master is so cruel. How many twenty-year periods can he deceive us with in his entire life? Ahhh... It's so heartbreaking~~~
