Chapter 925 He said I'm too old
Passersby were talking about it, and Song Chunxue overheard the gist of it.
It turned out that the woman was the man's concubine. At first, because she was young and beautiful, the man always liked to take her with him when he went to lively places, so that he could hear a few words of praise and flattery.
But because she was a concubine, she was not well received at home. Whenever she became pregnant, she would be tied up and beaten with a stick. After three children, the woman had gone from a delicate beauty to a faded old woman.
The man was just making an excuse to get rid of his old flame, and he wanted to appear as if he was very sentimental.
Song Chunxue clenched her fists, wishing she could send a bolt of lightning to strike the man dead.
What were you doing there?
Master Han raised his hand to stop Song Chunxue, who was about to step forward, "Don't make any rash moves."
"Master, that bastard actually beat a woman in the street! He's worse than an animal! Why don't we teach him a lesson?" Tu Dan'er gritted his teeth in anger. "He's the one who caused her to become like this, and now he treats her like dirt, she's not even worth a pile of shit!"
Master Zhang said expressionlessly, "Go ahead and teach them a lesson, I won't stop you."
"Huh?" Song Chunxue looked at her senior brother in surprise.
"Then I won't hold back!" Tu Dan'er rolled up his sleeves and walked forward. "Come on, how dare he hit a woman in front of me? I'll knock out a few of his teeth."
"Let's go!" Wuji followed with a half-smile. "I must draw my sword to help those in need, otherwise my Dao heart will be unstable."
Ye Baiye laughed, "That's right, I can't sleep well at night if I don't beat him up."
Changfeng and Changyun had already run up to Tudan'er.
Song Chunxue looked completely confused. "Why can't I do it?"
Master Han glanced at her and asked, "How old are you this year?"
"..." Song Chunxue's face turned red and then pale, and she couldn't utter a word for a long time.
Master Han turned and walked towards the tallest inn. “Why do you need to handle such a trivial matter personally? If you can’t even use your disciples, then you’ve been a worthless master.”
Lord Zhao shook his head slightly and smiled, "It's not that you can't take action, just don't let anyone see you. Go at night."
"..." These words made Song Chunxue even more embarrassed.
So, they think she's disrespectful for her age?
Master Zhang put his hand to his lips and lowered his voice to comfort her, "I also want to beat him up. Next time you meet him, don't hold back. But there are many fellow practitioners watching on this street, and every move you make will inevitably be remembered. You can try to be flexible and play the good cop."
Song Chunxue squeezed out a sentence through gritted teeth, "I think you can tell, you think I'm embarrassing you."
"No. Haven't you noticed that Senior Brother Han no longer treats you as a junior?" Master Zhang said with a gentle smile. "He's teaching you how to be an elder. Your strength is not bad now. You might even have to exchange a few blows with a combative person. It won't be too late to support your disciple then."
To support his apprentice?
It's alright if you don't talk about it, but Song Chunxue feels very ashamed whenever it comes up.
"It's my fault for not supervising my apprentices properly. They've only learned a few basic moves; I'm afraid they'll get bullied." She was extremely anxious. "I shouldn't have brought them this time; young and impetuous people are prone to causing trouble."
The Taoist priest smiled helplessly and gently advised her, "When the time comes, take out your protective magic weapon and deal with them as much as you can, and protect your disciple."
"Yes, I understand. Thank you for your guidance, Senior Brother. Why don't you become my master? I suddenly realize that I don't even have a master to teach me, yet I dare to take on disciples. I'm truly a bold and arrogant person."
"Uh..." Master Zhang chuckled. "Don't worry, you can learn from him anytime. When you go up the mountain to formally pay your respects to your master and begin your secluded cultivation, you might just make a name for yourself."
"You overestimate me." Song Chunxue looked around. "Senior Brother is really rich. This inn looks quite nice."
She wanted to go to her room immediately to take off one of her undergarments; it was too hot.
Later, she wanted to stroll around the streets. It looked like there was a river nearby, and she wanted to walk by the bridge to experience the feeling of a small bridge, flowing water, and a family home.
Soon, Song Chunxue was assigned a guest room at the end of the corridor, where she could see a beautiful view by opening the window.
The early spring here is so vibrant. There is a peach grove near the bamboo forest in the distance, and the peach blossoms are in full bloom.
She changed into a light grass-green spring shirt, feeling refreshed as she stepped out of the house, intending to ask her senior brother if she wanted to go out and take a look.
Unexpectedly, in the corridor, they encountered a group of Taoist cultivators dressed in light blue robes, who were very particular about their appearance.
"Hey, how many people are in your group? Could you give us two guest rooms?" A young cultivator looked at Song Chunxue with disdain. "Please ask your master. Price is not an issue."
That's quite a boast.
Song Chunxue said calmly, "Sorry, we won't allow it."
"You refused without even asking. Can you make that decision yourself?" The young cultivator looked Song Chunxue up and down, his jaw clenched tightly. "With your poor appearance, you should go and ask, lest your senior uncles and aunts blame you."
Song Chunxue smiled, and couldn't help but lift her sleeve to look at her outfit.
Is it poor and stingy?
She was wearing new clothes, which she hadn't worn yet.
She didn't dare wear this outfit in Lijiazhuang, for fear people would say she was showing off.
These people are actually complaining that she's shabby?
A group of hypocrites who are ignorant of human suffering and look down on others do not resemble spiritual practitioners at all.
Song Chunxue ignored them and walked straight ahead.
"Are you deaf?" A tall, burly man blocked her way, a smirk playing on his lips as he looked down at her. "You little scum from some small sect, do you even know which faction we belong to?"
Song Chunxue looked up and said, "Move aside."
"Hey, you've got quite the nerve." The tall, burly man stroked his full beard and gave Song Chunxue's shoulder a hard thud with two fingers. "At your age, instead of going home to enjoy your retirement with your children and grandchildren, what are you doing out here trying to make up the numbers? You might not even know how you died."
A surge of anger rushed to the back of her head, and Song Chunxue stretched out her fist and punched him squarely in the chin with all her might.
One punch wasn't enough; without even thinking, she landed another punch on his cheek.
The tall man didn't react in time and staggered back a few steps, pushing his companions back a few steps as well.
"Damn it, beat her to death!"
Just as Song Chunxue was about to summon Wuyou, the two doors next to her opened simultaneously.
Who is making a commotion?
Who's causing trouble?
Master Han, dressed in a dark blue robe, with a jade-like face and a wide crown, exuded an air of nobility. He stood with his hands behind his back, looking indifferently at the group of people in front of him, his eyes slightly narrowed.
"I heard you want us to vacate our rooms?" He took two steps forward. "Who is your patriarch? Let him come see me in person."
The bearded man covered his cheek and spat out a tooth.
He pointed at Song Chunxue, his voice trembling, "Your people knocked out one of my teeth, how are you going to settle this?"
He chickened out, knowing that the man in front of him was not someone to be trifled with, and wanted Song Chunxue to give him a way out.
"Senior Brother Han said I'm too old to go home and take care of my grandchildren, and that I'm a poor, worthless piece of trash," Song Chunxue said quietly. "Can you tolerate that?"
