Chapter 195: Good Idea (Part 2)

Meng Qi said unhappily, "Why? You're angry because you don't have a storyteller around. Yong'an, where did you get a storyteller? Find one for Fanghua quickly, and don't come back to bother you. You don't even know what's going on."

Yong'an just felt a headache. Why did these two people quarrel as soon as they met? And this time the quarrel was even more intense. They didn't avoid others at all and spoke very bluntly.

But before Yong'an could say anything, Meng Zhi smiled slightly and said, "Speaking of storytelling, I do remember that Princess Rui used to have a maid named Su Qing by her side. She was such a good storyteller. I wonder where she went? I heard that Princess Rui's second sister was very familiar with her."

Everyone was surprised by Meng Zhi's audacity, yet also seemed to be watching for a good show. Only Yong'an looked anxiously at Meng Qi. The aristocratic families in Beijing all knew that Meng Wan was the maid Su Qing who had served Meng Qi, but no one brought it up, especially since it had happened so long ago.

"Meng Zhi, what nonsense are you talking about?"

"Where did I say that? I heard that there are still many old people in the Meng family's west house who remember what Su Qing looked like."

Seeing Meng Zhi's provocative look, Meng Qi picked up the teacup on the table next to her and splashed it at Meng Zhi.

Accompanied by the cries of people around her, the Queen entered the hall accompanied by Concubine Xian and Concubine Lian.

Looking at the tea dripping down Meng Zhi's face and a few tea leaves on her hair, the queen's face turned cold.

"Ms. Meng, what's going on? Why did you upset Princess Rui again?"

Meng Zhi knelt down after hearing this and said, "It's my fault. I said something I shouldn't have said."

Xian Fei glanced at Lian Fei unhappily. "Could it be that Sister Lin's wife hasn't recovered from the pain of losing her child? Or does she have some opinion about me that she's reluctant to express?"

Concubine Lian blushed, and looking at Meng Qi standing there, she said coldly, "What are you standing there for? Go help Concubine Meng change her clothes."

Meng Qi looked up, looking reluctant, "It's not my daughter-in-law's fault, it's her..."

"Just go if I ask you to, Fanghua. Can I borrow your yard?" Concubine Lian said softly.

Fanghua smiled complacently, "Of course, I'll go with my two sisters-in-law."

――――――

The three of them arrived at Fanghua's west side hall. Qinxiang was guarding the door. Meng Zhi said, "You two can chat first. I'll go change my clothes."

Fanghua watched Meng Zhi enter the west room and said, "Your sister from the same family is quite sensible."

Meng Qi nodded, "He's also a person of genuine character."

Fanghua hummed, "What do you want to discuss with me? Do you want to take her with you?"

"I'm not bringing her with me. I have something to discuss with her, and I need your help."

Fanghua thought for a moment and said, "I guessed you must be short on time. A few days ago, Sixth Brother brought a message to me, asking me to lay the groundwork for the previous part. Are those things okay?"

"That's great. I want to discuss two things with you today."

Fanghua sat down and said, "Tell me about it."

Meng Qi looked out the window, and Fang Hua said softly, "It's okay, I got rid of those traitors."

Meng Qi felt relieved and sat opposite Fang Hua. "Do you know that Princess Shen is optimistic about Yong An?"

"Hu? For her own son? When did it happen?"

Meng Qi nodded first, then shook her head. "I don't know when it will be decided, but she should arrange for the two of them to meet or something to happen on Yong'an's birthday."

Fanghua's eyes lit up, "You want me to stop you?"

Meng Qi hummed, "If Zhou Zheng marries Yong'an, Zhou Yu's chance of becoming the crown prince will be over."

Fang Hua seemed to have just figured out the reason and said, "That's right, we can't let Zhou Zheng marry Yong An. What should we do?"

Meng Qi leaned forward and whispered, "I've got an idea. Do you think it's feasible? If not, you can think of something else. I heard that on Yong'an's birthday, the Queen wants all the young ladies from aristocratic families to go to the 'Hundred Flowers Garden'. I can't possibly attend, so I'll have to rely on you."

Fang Hua listened to Meng Qi's idea, frowned at first, then nodded, and then her eyes lit up, "I understand, but I still need to think about the details."
