Chapter 26 is a stupid

"What did you say? The prince didn't stay in the new house last night?" Mother Liu looked at Yuanyue in disbelief with tears in her eyes.

Yuan Yue held Mama Liu's hand and said, "Mom, what should we do? What if the people in the palace find out? The prince left at dawn, and we don't know if he will come back. We have to go to the palace to express our gratitude today."

Mother Liu asked with shaking hands, "Where's the princess? Is she up?"

"Well, Yuan Dong is in the house. I'm blocking you here and want to ask for your advice."

"What can I say? I don't know what's going on. Are they arguing?"

Yuan Yue wiped her face, nodded, and then shook her head. "It wasn't really noisy. It was fine at first. Yuan Dong and I were waiting for someone to order water, but it never came. There was some movement in the house, as if someone was talking. Then the sound died down, and we thought it was that... But soon we heard the sound of a teacup falling to the ground. Yuan Dong and I were scared, but we didn't dare to ask. We wanted to lie down by the door and listen, but we didn't dare. We could only worry anxiously. Then came the prince's harsh questioning. The sound was not loud, but it was scary."

"Did you hear what the prince asked?"

"I just heard that you're still thinking about him, right? Then why don't you just drag him down with you to die."

Yuan Yue said this, holding Mama Liu's hand tightly. "Mama Liu, tell me, did the princess bring up that Third Master Hong again? Did she make the prince unhappy?"

Mother Liu closed her eyes and said, "Of course it is, of course it is. My dear aunt, why are you mentioning that irrelevant person on your big day?"

She didn't have time to ask any more questions. Fortunately, it was Yuanyue and Yuandong who served in the main room last night. "Go call Lixia and Suxin, and have Xiaoman find out who knew when the prince went out. Don't show any strangeness in front of outsiders."

After giving the order here, Madam Liu stood at the door of the east room and said, "The old slave is coming in."

"Come in." Meng Qi's voice showed no emotion, but was filled with fatigue.

Mother Liu walked in and saw Meng Qi sitting in front of the dressing table, having her hair combed by Yuan Dong.

"Yuan Yue told you?"

"Princess, what's going on? Did you really have an argument with the prince?"

Meng Qi waved her hand and said, "Send someone to the outer courtyard to look for the prince. Just tell them that I asked when the prince would leave. There's no need to hide from others."

Mother Liu looked at Meng Qi's calm expression and approached carefully, "Princess, last night..."

"I said the wrong thing and upset the prince, but I can't take it back now that I've said it. Yuandong said he stayed in the west room last night. Since he didn't go to the outer courtyard, it means he doesn't want to make a big deal out of it. Don't worry."

Mother Liu sighed. Looking at Meng Qi's expression, she was afraid that she wouldn't be able to get anything out of her. Yuan Yue's report came from outside. Mother Liu told Lixia to go find King Rui and turned around to walk towards the kang.

Yuanyue had come in and tidied the quilt. When Mother Liu saw the clean and tidy mattress, her heart skipped a beat. She quickly rummaged through it and finally pulled out the white silk from under the quilt. It was clean and had no marks on it.

Mother Liu's head buzzed and she swayed a few times. Fortunately, Yuanyue supported her.

"Princess, how should we explain this? Matron Hai will be here soon."

Meng Qi looked at the pure white silk and wondered how she could have forgotten it. She took it and was about to ask Yuan Dong to find a way to get some blood, but she saw Song Chengze lift the door curtain and come into the room.

Mother Liu didn't even dare to breathe. Yuandong and Yuanyue stood beside Meng Qi. Song Chengze was stunned when he saw the white silk handkerchief in Meng Qi's hand, and then seemed to react.

"You guys go out first."

Mother Liu glanced at Meng Qi, and Meng Qi nodded.

"I forgot about this. It's probably too late to look for it now. Nanny Hai should be here soon, right?" Meng Qi said softly.

Song Chengze hummed, walked to the dressing table, rummaged through the box, took out a pair of scissors, and before Meng Qi could say anything to stop him, he cut his arm, then wiped it with a white silk handkerchief.

Meng Qi said, "I'll ask them to bring the medicine."

"No need, I know my limits. Look, everything is fine now."

Meng Qi went to the bathroom, took out a wet towel and gently wiped Song Chengze. Sure enough, the bleeding stopped after pressing it twice.

Song Chengze sat down and said, "We'll go to the palace later and do whatever you want. I don't want to talk to my mother anymore, so no matter what she says or doesn't say, you don't have to think too much."

Meng Qi didn't expect Song Chengze to tell her all this. Looking at the sweat on his forehead, she remembered what he said last night about liking to get up early. It seemed like he was going to practice sword dancing again.

"Yesterday I saw that Madam Hai was very concerned about your affairs. I'm afraid what happened last night can't be kept secret in the courtyard." Meng Qi turned around and took another handkerchief and handed it to Song Chengze.

Song Chengze wiped the sweat from his forehead and asked, "Are you scared?"

"What are you afraid of? Fame?"

"Yes, if what happened last night gets out, your first punch in the palace will not be opened."

Meng Qi smiled slightly. "Don't be afraid. Some things are strange. Sometimes the more you try to prove something, the more it goes in the opposite direction. But when you do these things as if they were commonplace, even if the facts are laid out before everyone, they won't be able to adapt."

Song Chengze thought for a moment and said, "Have you always spoken like this, or did an immortal teach you?" There was a hint of amusement in his tone.

"My mother always taught me that if you don't choke others, you can't speak."

"What the Crown Prince's wife said is correct." Song Chengze stood up. Nanny Hai's voice came from outside, "Prince, Princess, this old servant is coming in."

Madam Liu came in behind Madam Hai, her face sullen and full of hatred. Madam Hai was followed by two female historians, one of whom was holding a box.
