"No, Madam Hai just mentioned it, but she didn't show it to me. I didn't ask for your permission, nor did I ask for it to be seen."
Meng Qi nodded. "No need to ask. Since she said that it's OK to follow the old rules, it doesn't matter to me."

Yuandong was truly terrified, but she didn't dare ask, especially fearing the prince would ask someone like Baochun or Haitang to help make the bed. Fortunately, when she mustered the courage to follow him in and make the bed, the prince just sat there without saying a word.
When Yuandong returned to the east room, she saw broken tea sets on the floor. Yuandong wanted to speak, but the princess waved her hand and told her not to ask anything, just to clean up the floor and go to rest. She didn't even ask the prince how to arrange it.

Yuandong signaled Yuanyue and Xiaoman to serve Meng Qi dinner, pulled Liu Mama out of the east room, and told her the whole story in detail.
After hearing this, Mother Liu's face flushed instantly. "Who gave them the courage to treat the princess like this?"
Yuan Dong said softly, "I've asked Guyu to find out what's going on in the main kitchen, but I don't think we can just let this matter go. We're new here, and if we keep quiet, they'll think we're easy to bully."
Mother Liu nodded and said, "I'll talk to the princess."
