Chapter 5: The news spreads that the Third Miss is pregnant.

"Xiao Sheng, don't get hung up on one demon. Why don't you go after the boss?" Uncle Ze said casually.

"Pfft!" Chi Musheng spat out the porridge he hadn't swallowed yet.

He just escaped from Tu Shan Hong Hong's bed, and you actually want him to go back? Do you think he's lived too long?

"Ahem, Uncle Ze, stop being so nosy and worrying too much."

Chi Musheng quickly ate a xiaolongbao to calm her nerves and relieve the suffocating feeling of being dominated by the domineering demon emperor and almost drowning inside.

"Don't worry about it. Do you think I want to see you continue to be so stubborn? Humans live for a hundred years, while demons live for a thousand. To a demon, a human's life is nothing more than a fleeting moment," Uncle Ze earnestly advised.

Rather than Chi Musheng being with Tu Shan Rongrong, he would rather Chi Musheng be with an ordinary woman, spending his life together and accompanying Bai.

“I never said I would waste my time on Miss San. Starting today, I will stop pursuing her,” Chi Musheng said calmly.

"Huh? Really? Xiao Sheng, you're not going to chase after it anymore? You don't seem like the type to give up halfway. Don't lie to your uncle, or you won't get any more steamed buns to eat." Uncle Ze pulled the remaining half basket of steamed buns in front of him with a face full of doubt.

"I'm not lying to you. Just for this steamed bun from Uncle Ze, I can't lie to you." Chi Musheng pulled the half-basket of steamed buns back and ate them with relish, taking bites of porridge and buns at a time.

The contract is over, why is he chasing after it? Who gets up at five in the morning to cook and then chase after someone to feed them if they don't have money? He must be out of his mind.

"That's fine, don't chase anymore. Uncle will get you another cage."

Once he was sure Chi Musheng wasn't going to pursue him anymore, Uncle Ze quickly brought over another basket of steamed buns, watching with a beaming smile as Chi Musheng finished both baskets of buns.

"Uncle Ze, did you put too much soy sauce in today's steamed buns?" Chi Musheng commented with a burp.

"You little rascal, you think I'd believe that? I've been making steamed buns for over ten years, my hands are more accurate than a scale," Uncle Ze chuckled.

"Really? Uncle Ze, someone can lie to themselves for over a decade."

After finishing speaking, Chi Musheng turned and left without looking back, leaving Uncle Ze alone, sitting silently at the stall.

A person's laughter and silence both stem from deep thought.

Chi Musheng was about to go back to sleep for a while. She had slept in fear all night in the arms of a certain fox, afraid that even the slightest movement would wake her up.

On the familiar road, Chi Musheng saw the familiar fox and suddenly perked up. He was up early; how come Tu Shan Rongrong was already up at six o'clock?

On second thought, he realized something was wrong. Why was he panicking? The contract was over, and he didn't need to fawn over Tu Shan Rongrong anymore.

Tu Shan Rongrong rubbed her eyes and looked at Chi Musheng, who had appeared on this road at seven o'clock every day for the past three years.

What's going on? She got up half an hour early, so why did she still run into Chi Musheng?

The two remained silent, and Tu Shan Rongrong quickened her pace, wanting to get through the road as quickly as possible.

When the two met, Tu Shan Rongrong couldn't help but glance at Chi Musheng. This guy, for the first time ever, didn't greet her or bring her any food today.

Why are you looking at yourself? The contract has ended. Do you think you'll provide services for free?

Adhering to the idea that since she wasn't a customer, there was no need to pay too much attention to her, Chi Musheng simply ignored Tu Shan Rongrong, completely disregarding her squinty little eyes.

Tu Shan Rongrong stopped in her tracks. She smelled her sister's scent on Chi Musheng. It was very strong and didn't seem like something that could be picked up from simple contact.

"Good morning," Tu Shan Rongrong said after a moment's hesitation.

She needed to figure out why she had fallen and why Chi Musheng smelled like her sister.

"Hmm, good morning, Miss Third, is there something you need?" Chi Musheng asked, puzzled.

This was the first time Tu Shan Rongrong had taken the initiative to greet him.

After exchanging greetings, Tu Shan Rongrong didn't know what to say. In the past, Chi Musheng would always start the conversation, and she would just respond with a few words here and there.

Tu Shan Rongrong looked at Chi Musheng's empty hands and instantly thought of a topic.

"You haven't had breakfast yet, have you? Let me treat you to breakfast."

Ah, Chi Musheng immediately wanted to refuse, as he had just come back from eating his fill at the steamed bun shop!

Furthermore, since the contract has ended, he needs to keep his distance from the client to prevent the client from actually developing feelings for him, which would be bad for both of them.

"I"

Seeing Chi Musheng retreating, Tu Shan Rongrong quickly grabbed Chi Musheng's sleeve and opened her eyes.

"Don't refuse, consider it a thank you for cooking for me these past few days."

Chi Musheng wanted to say that the payment had already been made yesterday, so there was no need to pay it again.

"Wow! Miss San has finally found her true love! I'm so envious!" The female fox demon, who had just woken up, saw the scene she had fantasized about countless times over the past three years and was so excited that she couldn't speak coherently.

The Third Miss actually held hands with this human. Sure enough, even the Third Miss couldn't resist the pursuit of a handsome man.

Hearing the commotion, all the demons came out of the house, staring at the man and fox on the road with great gossip, and began to have a heated discussion, with the topics becoming more and more bizarre.

"What?! The Third Miss is in love with a human?"

"Ah, the Third Miss married a human."

"Spread the word: the Third Miss is pregnant."

Tu Shan Rongrong's fluffy ears were burning hot. What are these guys doing?

When did she start dating and getting married? If the rumors continue, will it be that she and Chi Musheng already have a child?

"You're all so idle, you want to raise the rent, huh?" Tu Shan Rongrong turned around and said angrily to the chattering demons.

"Third Miss, I have other matters to attend to, so I'll be leaving now."

"Me too, my mom's calling me for dinner."

"I need to go to the toilet."

The demons scattered in a panic. They were joking, after all. Tu Shan Rongrong's ruthlessness was notorious far and wide. If they didn't run away, the rent would really go up.

Tu Shan Rongrong relaxed her slightly flushed face and said, "Now no one will bother us."

Honestly, what a bunch of gossipy people. I've never seen them this excited at work.

Chi Musheng remained unmoved and said, "Third Miss, it would be better if you just said what it is. I'm afraid that if we walk together, rumors will spread and affect your reputation."

He was so sleepy, what was there to eat? Didn't he see the gossipy expressions on those demons' faces? If the two of them ate together again, who knows what kind of rumors would spread.

Tu Shan Rongrong was stunned for a second, and looked at Chi Musheng with resentment in her eyes. He had delivered meals to her without fail for three years, and it hadn't affected her reputation.

Now, if I have a meal with her now and say I'm afraid it will affect her reputation, is it because I don't want to, or because I have something to hide?

"You don't have to go, but your sister will find out about your harassment of me later," Tu Shan Rongrong said with a half-smile, her eyes narrowed.

Chi Musheng recalled Tu Shan Honghong's fist that had left a dent, and quickly tried to explain.

"Third Miss, you can eat whatever you want, but you can't say whatever you want. When did I harass you?"

Tu Shan Hong Hong believed that his harassment of Tu Shan Rong Rong would be fatal; how could the act of being a simp be described as harassment?

"No? A lot of demons saw it just now. Guess whether they will believe what they saw with their own eyes or what you say?" Tu Shan Rongrong said calmly, as if she had Chi Musheng figured out.

If this scoundrel hasn't harassed me, then was my breakfast for the past three years delivered by a pig?

And the singing when it's sick, is it the dog singing?

And the origami cranes hanging by the window, were they placed there by a ghost?
