Chapter Eight: He Takes Her Home
Sang Ruo was taken aback when she met the man's deep eyes.
Bo Jinyan?
How could it be him?
The man's long, narrow eyes were slightly upturned, and his shimmering phoenix eyes were obscure in the dim light.
Sang Ruo felt a tightness in her chest as she recalled the scene at the Bo family's house.
For a moment, I didn't know how to respond.
“It’ll take at least an hour to walk down from here,” Bo Jinyan said in a low, hoarse voice. “You’re not planning to walk all the way to the bottom of the mountain, are you?”
If she hadn't met him, she definitely had that plan.
After all, Bo Jinzhou couldn't possibly chase after her, much less send her away.
"Thank you, Uncle."
After Sang Ruo opened the car door and got in, she felt dizzy again.
If I hadn't grabbed the doorknob in time, I probably would have fallen.
My head is splitting with pain, it's unbearable.
What did you just call me?
After they were seated, the man's deep voice came again.
Sang Ruo turned her head to look to the side, and when she met his deep eyes, a crazy idea popped into her mind.
Bo Jinyan remains unmarried to this day and has never been involved in any scandals.
If she were to climb upwards, her strength alone would be completely insufficient...
But just as this crazy idea surfaced, the dizziness in his head intensified again.
The attack was extremely fierce.
The next second, her body involuntarily fell down next to the man.
Bo Jinyan almost instinctively raised his hand to protect her shoulder.
A faint scent of violets instantly filled her nostrils.
That smells so familiar.
It smells familiar, like something I've smelled before.
From the first moment I saw her, I had a feeling of déjà vu.
But today is clearly the first time we've met.
"Miss Sang, Miss Sang..."
The man looked down at the person in his arms, his brows furrowing slightly.
The two were standing very close together, and even through their suits, one could feel their body temperature steadily rising.
He reached out his well-defined hand and touched her forehead.
I have a fever.
It's quite serious.
After withdrawing his hand, the man took out his phone and called his assistant, Zhang Ye: "Have the doctor come to Qinyuan Bay."
"Yes, Mr. Bo."
Half an hour later, at Qinyuan Bay.
After Zhang Ye led the family doctor to the door, he went straight up to the second floor.
A tall, slender figure stood at the doorway of the master bedroom.
Zhang Ye initially thought it was his husband who was unwell, but when he entered the master bedroom, he discovered that it was actually a woman.
Mr. Bo was a bit of a clean freak. Apart from letting Aunt Feng come in to clean, he never allowed anyone else into the master bedroom, let alone a woman.
Zhang Ye stood to one side and couldn't help but look at the woman on the bed.
Who exactly is she?
After taking the medicine, Sang Ruo's condition began to improve, and she woke up half an hour later.
When I opened my sleepy eyes and saw the unfamiliar room, I was suddenly stunned.
The entire room was decorated in black, white, and gray tones, even the blackout curtains were black.
The scene before I fainted flashed through my mind.
She clearly got into Bo Jinyan's car...
Could this be that man's room?
Even after getting out of bed, my body was still burning hot.
Despite her discomfort, she opened the door and went outside.
"Miss, you're awake?"
As soon as I opened the door, I was met with a kind gaze.
It must be the housekeeper.
Seeing her looking around, Aunt Feng pointed towards the end of the corridor: "You must be looking for Mr. Bo, right? He's in his study..."
Sang Ruo nodded slightly. She knew that the person her aunt was talking about must be Bo Jinyan.
She walked slowly to the end of the corridor and knocked on the door with her slender hand.
"Enter."
After the man's deep voice faded, Sang Ruo opened the door and went inside.
A tall figure stood in front of the huge French windows; she recognized him even from just his back.
"Mr. Bo, how did I end up in your house?"
Bo Jinyan turned around upon hearing the sound and met Sang Ruo's haggard face.
He walked past her expressionlessly: "You fainted as soon as you got in my car. I didn't know where you lived, so I had to bring you back first. Your aunt has already given you your medicine."
"Thank you, Mr. Bo..."
"Why don't you call me 'Uncle' anymore?"
The man walked around the large desk, pulled out a chair, and sat down.
Sang Ruo paused for a moment, somewhat puzzled.
"Just now in the car, didn't you call me 'Uncle'? Since you are Jinzhou's wife and he hasn't signed the papers yet, you should indeed call me 'Uncle'."
The man leaned back in his chair, his long, narrow eyes slightly upturned, his gaze deep and his expression unreadable.
Calling him that in the car was simply because a crazy idea flashed through my mind at that moment.
But she was feeling unwell at the moment, so she didn't think about that much.
Just as Sang Ruo was about to respond, a childish voice suddenly came from outside the study.
"Dad, is Uncle really home?"
Sang Ruo's body involuntarily stiffened for a moment.
This is the voice of her son, Bo Yukang.
How did he end up here?
"Yes, Dad just asked."
When Bo Jinzhou's voice rang out, Sang Ruo felt a chill run down her spine.
Although she had just publicly proposed the divorce, at this critical juncture, for them to see her here is a situation she can't clear her name even if she jumps into the Yellow River.
In order to avoid unnecessary trouble and misunderstandings, Sang Ruo decided to hide herself for the time being.
After looking around, she realized there was no better place to hide than under the desk.
"Mr. Bo, don't tell them I'm here..."
Sang Ruo quickly stepped forward, walked around the side of the table, and came to the man's side.
When Bo Jinyan saw her gaze fall under the desk, he could roughly guess what she was thinking.
The man's thin lips suddenly curved slightly, a smile that was neither a smile nor a frown.
This is getting more and more interesting...
He nodded slightly, then moved back, chair and all, to make room for her.
The footsteps outside grew closer and closer. Sang Ruo didn't have time to think and quickly bent down to hide inside.
The moment the man pulled the chair closer, she caught a faint whiff of cedarwood scent emanating from him.
The sudden approach caught her off guard, causing her to momentarily lose her composure and instinctively back away.
Perhaps due to the excessive range of motion, I involuntarily leaned back.
She instinctively reached out and grabbed the pair of long legs in front of her.
The man lowered his gaze and met her eyes.
At that moment, it was as if the air itself had frozen.
At the same time, there was a knock on the door.
Sang Ruo quickly released his leg and obediently squatted down in front of him.
"Uncle."
When Bo Jinzhou led Bo Yukang inside, only Bo Jinyan was in the room.
Bo Jinyan lazily raised his eyelids and said casually, "Why is my nephew here so late?"
Sang Ruo hid below, pricking up her ears to listen carefully.
Hearing Bo Jinzhou slowly say, "Xiao Kang's health has recovered somewhat. I originally planned to take him home, but today's events happened suddenly. I didn't expect Sang Ruo to cause trouble in such a setting and ruin this family banquet that was specially prepared to welcome my uncle back. I want to come and apologize to you."
