Chapter Twenty-Two: A Turbulent Morning

Chapter Twenty-Two: A Turbulent Morning

"What's inappropriate?" The man's narrow eyes twitched slightly upwards. "Aren't we getting a divorce soon?"

The implication is that since they're about to get divorced, it doesn't matter what they do.

Even so, this scene still made Sang Ruo's heart race.

He is Bo Jinyan!

Bo Jinzhou's younger uncle.

She and Bo Jinzhou were not divorced yet, so logically she should call him "Uncle".

The man seemed to sense her nervousness and decided to finish quickly.

He picked her up, quickly jumped over the railing, and gently put her down.

Sang Ruo was just worried, wondering if she would be able to get through?

Unexpectedly, for Bo Jinyan, it was an easy task.

He quickly put her down, the height was just right, and she landed lightly on the ground.

When she turned to look at the man, a hint of gratitude appeared in her eyes: "Thank you, Mr. Bo."

The man quickly withdrew his hand and pointed towards the door: "If you don't leave now, your son will break down the door."

Sang Ruo then noticed that the knocking at the door was becoming increasingly intense.

She didn't have time to say anything more, quickly turned around, and walked towards the door.

Bo Jinyan glanced at her departing figure, a faint smile curving his lips, barely suppressing his joy.

When Sang Ruo opened the door, she saw Bo Yukang and Chen Fangyue standing together at the door.

"Mom, I've been knocking on the door for so long, why did it take you so long to open it?"

Bo Yukang looked at her with a hint of displeasure.

Just then, the door to the next room was opened from the inside.

"I drank too much last night and slept too soundly..."

Sang Ruo's voice had barely faded when she met a dark gaze from behind them.

When Bo Jinyan's eyes met hers, a half-smile appeared on his lips.

Hearing a noise behind her, Chen Fangyue turned around instantly.

Upon seeing Bo Jinyan, she greeted him, saying, "Ayan is awake too."

Good morning, Second Sister-in-law.

Bo Jinyan greeted her in a gloomy voice, then strode towards the stairs.

"Where's Dad? Isn't he up yet? I'm going to be late for school. Are you taking me today, or is Dad taking me?"

"Your dad isn't here; he went out last night."

Upon hearing the child's voice, Sang Ruo subconsciously averted her gaze, glancing at him indifferently.

"What did you say? Jinzhou didn't sleep here last night?"

Just as Chen Fangyue was about to speak, another shocked voice beat her to it.

Sang Ruo raised her eyes and met a pair of cold gazes.

Old Master Bo had come down from the third floor at some point and was now standing by the corridor.

He had overheard their conversation.

Sang Ruo's brow furrowed slightly.

Unexpectedly, Grandpa overheard everything.

"He went out yesterday because of something."

"That bastard..."

Old Master Bo looked disappointed and frustrated, slamming his cane heavily on the ground.

His aged face was filled with an air of annoyance.

Has Xiaokang woken up?

Just then, a deep voice suddenly came from downstairs.

It was Bojin Prefecture.

I guess they came back to take their child to school.

Sang Ruo glanced in the direction of Old Master Bo, only to see the old man angrily turn around and walk downstairs.

Looks like this morning won't be peaceful either...

When Sang Ruo arrived at the dining table, she saw her grandfather angrily scolding Bo Jinzhou: "What were you doing last night? Why weren't you resting at home?"

Bo Jinyan sat down next to the old man, intending to have breakfast.

"I suddenly received a job late last night, so I had to go and handle it first. I was busy until very late, so I rested there..."

Upon hearing this, a cold smile appeared on Sang Ruo's face.

So, for him, seeing Liang Yuxin was just work?

Old Master Bo's face grew increasingly angry, and his voice rose an octave: "Is work more important than spending time with your wife? No wonder Xiao Ru is clamoring for a divorce. With how you treat her, who else would she divorce if not you?"

“After she went upstairs yesterday, she kept me locked out and wouldn’t let me in at all. Plus, I had work to do, so I left first.”

As Bo Jinzhou spoke, he glanced at Sang Ruo with displeasure, his bright eyes filled with anger.

He lies without even thinking, not even blinking.

How come she never noticed before that this man was actually a liar?

"I'm sorry, I drank too much yesterday and didn't hear you knocking."

Sang Ruo spoke in a flat tone, her face showing little emotion.

Bo Jinzhou raised his voice considerably: "Even if you've drunk a lot, you can't possibly fall completely asleep, right? You just don't want to let me in, so what excuse are you making up here?"

"It's getting late, hurry up and sit down and have some breakfast! Don't we still have to take Xiaokang to school?"

Bo Jinyan, who had been silent until now, broke the tense atmosphere by speaking.

After his uncle spoke, Bo Jinzhou didn't say anything more.

As Bo Jinzhou was about to pull out a chair to sit down, Bo Yukang had already slung his schoolbag over his shoulder and looked at him anxiously: "Dad, I'm going to be late for school! Don't eat breakfast! Can you take me to school first?"

"Okay, Dad will take you to school first."

Bo Jinzhou pushed the chair back into its original position.

Since they were still in the old house, and with so many elders in front of her, she naturally had to fulfill her duties as a mother.

"Mom will come with you!"

Her voice had barely faded when her child interrupted her: "No need, Daddy can come with me."

Chen Fangyue picked up an egg and a bottle of milk and put them in the child's hand: "Take these and eat them on the way."

"Thank you, Grandma."

After Bo Jinzhou left with Bo Yukang, Chen Fangyue and Old Master Bo claimed that they had already eaten breakfast and went for a walk in the back garden.

After leaving the restaurant, only Bo Jinyan and Sang Ruo remained.

After everyone had left, the atmosphere made her feel a little reserved.

"Since you're already down here, let's have breakfast before we go!"

When the man's deep voice reached her ears, Sang Ruo subconsciously turned her head and met his deep eyes.

Those eyes, as black as a winter pool, were unfathomable and unfathomable.

Sang Ruo nodded slightly and finally pulled out the chair opposite her.

This breakfast was definitely the most agonizing breakfast she had ever eaten.

It wasn't because the man opposite her had an overpowering aura, but because the two of them had spent the night together in a room, and she still hadn't given him a reasonable explanation.

That subtle atmosphere constantly enveloped the two of them.

It's like having a fishbone stuck in your throat, unable to go up or down, extremely uncomfortable.

The two remained almost completely silent, each eating their breakfast separately.

It wasn't until she finished breakfast and got up that the man opposite her said softly, "Would you like me to take you home?"
