Chapter 518 Never to be Reunited
“He’s well-behaved because you raised him well, and he wasn’t led astray by his father,” Bo Jinyan said slowly, not forgetting to put some food in her bowl.
Hearing him speak of his father like that, Bo Yukang felt a little uncomfortable: "Uncle, I know that my father and I made mistakes in the past, but people always need a chance to make amends. We can't always live in the past, right?"
He knew that he and his father had done something wrong, but he felt really uncomfortable hearing his great-uncle say that.
Mom should have been with Dad.
Now, however, because of his uncle, they have fallen apart and can no longer live together.
"At such a young age, he's quite sharp-tongued."
Bo Jinyan chuckled, glanced at him, and said indifferently, "What you said is true, but not everything can be corrected. Sometimes a mistake is a mistake, and it can never be mended."
It's like a broken mirror; no matter how you try to repair it, it can never be restored to its original state.
The cracks that were meant to exist still exist.
It's not something that can be made up for with just a simple "I'll change my ways".
Upon hearing this, Bo Yukang abruptly stopped eating. The more he thought about it, the more upset he became. His eyes suddenly reddened, and more and more tears welled up in them until crystal-clear tears silently slid down his cheeks.
"Brother Xiaokang, why are you crying?" Seeing his tears, Song Linlin took out a tissue to wipe them away for him: "Linlin will wipe them for you."
Seeing this, Sang Ruo was both happy and sad: "Xiao Kang, your great-uncle didn't do it on purpose. It's just that we have some grudges with your father. It has nothing to do with you. He wasn't targeting you."
"Don't cry, crying too much is bad for your eyes."
More and more tears welled up in Bo Yukang's eyes until finally they streamed down his face.
When Bo Jinyan saw that he was crying, he didn't say anything more, but just kept handing Sang Ruo tissues.
He couldn't bring himself to apologize.
He felt he hadn't said anything wrong, but some of his words were indeed unpleasant to hear.
"Mom, do you really not want me and Dad anymore?" Bo Yukang asked between sobs.
Sang Ruo kept wiping away his tears: "How could Mom not want Xiao Kang? Mom just has her own new family now and can't be with Xiao Kang every day like before."
"But Xiaokang, you can still come to see your mother whenever you miss her."
Her relationship with Bo Jinzhou is completely over; it's just a pity for the child.
Bo Jinyan had never really liked this child, but she couldn't ignore his feelings.
She was caught in the middle, and many times she really didn't know what to do.
She was in a difficult position.
With her comforting words, Bo Yukang's crying gradually subsided, but his red and swollen eyes made him look pitiful.
"Is everything Mom said true?" He was a little incredulous.
His uncle disliked him so much that he wouldn't even allow him to stay overnight.
How could he allow him to come looking for his mother?
“Of course it’s true. When has your mother ever lied to you?” Sang Ruo couldn’t help but reassure her.
After wiping away his tears, I let him eat again.
Right after they finished eating, Bo Jinzhou came to visit. As soon as he saw that Bo Yukang's eyes were red, he frowned and asked, "Sang Ruo, why are Xiaokang's eyes red? Did you bully him?"
He is the son he raised; he knows himself.
Xiaokang is usually a very strong person, so if he's crying, something must have happened.
“How could that be?” Sang Ruo retorted, but remembering what Bo Jinyan had just said, she hesitated for a moment before speaking again: “Xiao Kang, he just…”
She wasn't a very good liar, but Xiao Kang cried because of Bo Jinyan's words.
For a moment, she didn't know how to start the conversation.
"But what?" Bo Jinzhou couldn't help but ask.
Bo Jinyan glanced at Bo Yukang and said sarcastically, "You're only crying because your son spoke up for you and knows that his parents can never get back together."
This is quite cruel for a nine-year-old child.
Everyone wants a complete family, but some things can never be the same again.
He felt that what he said was not wrong.
However, these are things that Bo Yukang, at his age, cannot bear.
No matter how precocious he was, Bo Yukang was only nine years old.
"Uncle, don't speak too definitively before things are settled." Bo Jinzhou looked at him with a hint of hostility: "I don't think Xiao Kang needs to stay here any longer."
As he spoke, his gaze passed over Bo Jinyan and landed on Bo Yukang, who was eating: "Xiaokang, let's go."
"oh."
Although Bo Yukang hadn't finished eating, his father said he had to leave, so he couldn't refuse.
They had no choice but to go back with Bo Jinzhou.
After watching Bo Jinzhou leave with Bo Yukang, Sang Ruo suddenly said, "Ayan, I still hope that after we get married, you can treat Xiaokang as your own child."
“He is your child with Bo Jinzhou.” Bo Jinyan felt that her request was too harsh: “Based on this alone, I could never raise him as my own child.”
Unless she can completely resolve the problems in Bojinzhou.
Otherwise, as long as Bo Jinzhou still has feelings for her, he will never be able to stop caring about the child.
Sang Ruo could understand his feelings, but she was indeed in a difficult position: "Ayan, can't you just do this for my sake? Aren't you afraid that Xiao Kang will notice something is wrong?"
"Besides, Xiaokang is a very smart child. If you mind him so much, how am I supposed to be caught in the middle?"
She was caught in a dilemma, partly because of Bo Jinzhou and partly because of Bo Jinyan.
The two forces intertwined, almost tearing her apart.
“I don’t mind him, I mind Bo Jinzhou.” Bo Jinyan frowned: “Can’t you see that Bo Yukang just spoke up for Bo Jinzhou at the dinner table?”
"He has always wanted you to be with Bo Jinzhou. You told me not to mind him and to compromise, but who will compromise for me?"
He was just protecting his own rights.
He didn't know how Bo Jinzhou educated his children, but his desire to win back Sang Ruo was now obvious.
If he doesn't speak up soon, Bo Yukang will probably just think that Bo Jinzhou and Sang Ruo are only temporarily separated!
This is something he absolutely does not want to see.
Sang Ruo could tell that he was actually quite angry: "But Xiao Kang is just a child. I have nothing to say if you have a problem with Bo Jinzhou, and I also find him annoying, but Xiao Kang is innocent."
“You can’t keep bothering Xiaokang just because he’s from Bojin Prefecture. That’s not fair to him!”
He can treat Linlin like his own daughter, so why can't he treat Xiaokang the same way?
What did Xiaokang do to wrong him?
"Xiao Ruo, am I just supposed to stand by and watch Bo Yukang keep trying to match you up with Bo Jinzhou, and just turn a blind eye?"
