Chapter Two: What She Went Through
"Mom, you've been to jail and you're divorced? What will people think of you?"
Bo Yukang blurted out his words.
Bo Jinzhou froze, his brows furrowing deeply.
He had considered that she might feign pitifulness and grievance to demand compensation, since Sang Ruo had married into the Bo family for an exorbitant dowry.
But I never imagined she would bring up divorce.
After all, three years ago, Sang Ruo went to great lengths to stay by their side.
And now, she has served three years in prison.
Ultimately, it was nothing more than a tactic to force them to coax her.
A hint of disgust flashed in Bo Jinzhou's eyes. He frowned and said coldly, "Kang Kang is right. Where else can you go if you leave the Bo family? Sang Ruo, if you keep making a scene like this, you'll only make yourself a laughing stock!"
Sang Ruo remained unmoved.
She hailed a taxi and let the driver look at her strangely.
Before getting into the car, she looked at Bo Jinzhou and his son again and slowly said, "I will send the divorce agreement over when I have time. Congratulations, you are divorced and you can let Liang Yuxin become your wife and mother."
Her tone was stiff and cold.
After saying that, he left without looking back.
Looking at her thin, staggering figure, Bo Jinzhou suddenly felt a little irritated.
He listened to what his grandfather and Yuxin said and came to pick her up.
But she filed for divorce?
If it were the old Sang Ruo, she would have been overjoyed!
He was so good to her.
He wanted to see what kind of trouble this ex-convict could cause!
...
Sang Ruo got into a taxi.
Quite by chance, the taxi's television soon began playing an interview video with Liang Yuxin.
"Yuxin, you've become a highly sought-after actress now. I wonder how you've decided on your marriage?"
The reporter joked.
In the video, Liang Yuxin's gaze fell on Bo Jinzhou and his son in the audience, her face slightly flushed: "I am very satisfied with everything I have now. After all, I have two men by my side for the past three years, helping me through the most difficult three years."
The director cut the camera to the father and son. The man's gaze was gentle, and the three of them looked at each other, like a happy family.
The driver next to me was used to driving in this area and casually struck up a conversation:
"They are such a happy family."
"One family?" Sang Ruo asked with a mocking tone, "They're one family?"
"Look, this father and son from the Bo family are Liang Yinghou's husband and child. On Liang Yinghou's birthday, President Bo set off fireworks all night long; it was quite a grand affair!"
Sang Ruo then raised her eyes, her slender figure appearing excessively ill-fitting in the oversized clothes.
She looked at Liang Yuxin and Bo Jinzhou and his son on the TV, and remained silent for a long time.
A sense of irony welled up inside her, and she almost laughed.
It turns out that while she was suffering in prison, they were there to support Liang Yuxin as she rose through the ranks, and to watch the fireworks burn out with her.
Even though she had long been numb to the indifference of the father and son, Sang Ruo still felt a bitter taste in her mouth.
The taxi eventually stopped in front of the house registered under Sang Ruo's name.
Sang Ruo returned to her room, retrieved the money for the driver, and then went to the supermarket to buy basic necessities.
Her assets were frozen three years ago after she was imprisoned.
So now that she's out, her life is temporarily satisfied.
Having been away from people for so long, Sang Ruo was initially a little uncomfortable.
After leaving the supermarket, Sang Ruo received a call from her best friend Chen Anni.
Upon learning of her release from prison, Chen Anni was extremely excited: "I originally wanted to return to China earlier, but unfortunately, due to the typhoon, I haven't been able to go back. Are you still with the Bo family now...?"
"I am at Youfeng Tower."
Chen Anni frowned: "Didn't Bo Jinzhou come to pick you up? After all, you're still husband and wife, he..."
"Annie, I'm planning to divorce him."
Sang Ruo gripped her phone tightly, her voice soft as she spoke, but a fleeting look of pain and numbness crossed her face.
Before she went to prison, Chen Anni, as her friend, had advised her several times to get a divorce.
Sang Ruo, however, kept waiting for the man to change his mind.
Her mood was really low, and Chen Anni felt a pang of sadness. She changed the subject: "After you went to prison, your aunt took over the small courtyard in Hengyang and even opened a tourist attraction. And Liang Yuxin, she... Anyway, Ruoruo, I will be returning to China soon. I will tell you about the other things in detail then."
Sang Ruo slowly agreed.
My father passed away the year after I got married.
After she was imprisoned, her mother almost went blind from crying and fell seriously ill. In prison, she cried and begged Bo Jinzhou to save her mother.
But after waiting and waiting, she received the news of her mother's death.
Now even her family property has been seized...
Sang Ruo's eyes quickly turned cold.
Then, a deliberately suppressed calm appeared.
Three years in prison is more than enough to turn a world upside down.
She has suffered greatly in prison, and it will take time for her to reclaim what she has.
However, no matter how long it takes, she will collect everything owed to her.
