Chapter 379 National Treasure-Level Sculptor
Sang Ruo heard a hint of helplessness in Bai Yu's voice.
Finally, she said, "Okay, I understand."
After hanging up the phone, she glanced towards the balcony.
Bo Jinyan was still standing on the balcony making a phone call, presumably listening to the other end of the line, his entire demeanor heavy with gloom.
Sang Ruo pondered for a moment, then finally opened the bedroom door and walked towards the study.
After closing the door, she called Bo Jinzhou.
It rang for a long time before the other end answered: "Sang Ruo..."
Sang Ruo stood in front of the huge floor-to-ceiling window, her eyes turning cold: "You went drinking again?"
The person on the other end seemed surprised that she knew about this, and paused for a while before replying, "Yes! Who told you? Bai Yu?"
"Bo Jinzhou, you're a grown man, why are you still acting like a child, always making those around you worry? Bai Yu is very worried about you, that's why he called me. Stop drinking and go home early!"
Sang Ruo spoke indifferently, her face showing little expression.
Can I take that as you being concerned about me?
Bo Jinzhou's voice carried a hint of expectation.
Sang Ruo's expression darkened. She didn't respond to his words, but instead changed the subject: "Drinking too much is bad for your health. Don't just think about yourself; think about the child too. After all, you're the child's father. What if something happens to you…"
"In the end, isn't it all for your own sake? Are you worried that if something happens to me, no one will take care of the children? Are you concerned that the children will disturb your and your uncle's happy life in the future?"
Bo Jinzhou's sarcastic laughter came through the phone.
Sang Ruo frowned slightly, her heart sinking to the bottom.
How did this man's thinking become so extreme?
"I guessed right?"
The mocking voices from the other side suddenly became even more intense.
Sang Ruo was getting impatient: "If you can listen to what I'm saying, then listen; if you can't, then forget it. Anyway, I was only asked to make this call, so I hope you won't overthink it. If you have nothing else to do, go home as soon as possible!"
Bo Jinzhou seemed to compromise: "Okay, I'll go back."
Sang Ruo paused for a moment.
When she made that call, she was just trying her luck, but she didn't expect him to actually listen to her.
She didn't say anything more and simply hung up the phone.
Then he looked up at the night view outside the window, lost in thought.
"bite--"
A message from Bai Yu popped up on her phone screen: "Ms. Sang, President Bo has already gone home."
Sang Ruo stared at the words on her phone screen, her eyes darkening further.
"Clatter—"
Just then, the door was suddenly pushed open from the outside.
Sang Ruo turned around upon hearing the voice and immediately saw the man walking in.
Bo Jinyan's face was gloomy as he looked at her: "Were you just on the phone with Bo Jinzhou?"
Sang Ruo paused for a moment.
I never expected that he would overhear me.
Sang Ruo swallowed hard, then said softly, "Yes, Assistant Bai said he's been drinking heavily at a bar, and no matter what we do, we can't get him to stop. He even called me, asking me to help talk to him..."
Bo Jinyan quickly moved closer and wrapped his arm around her waist: "So? Did he listen to you?"
"Mm." Sang Ruo nodded lightly. "I'm going back."
Bo Jinyan tightened his grip on her waist, his gaze fixed on her face, his eyes filled with a chilling coldness.
The man remained silent, which made Sang Ruo's scalp tingle.
"Ayan, don't overthink it. I was just worried about the child. I only did it for the child's sake..."
"I didn't think much about it."
Bo Jinyan suddenly released her and then walked towards the desk.
Sang Ruo watched his retreating figure, her eyes growing increasingly somber.
He said he hadn't thought much about it, but his actions had already betrayed him.
He turned on his computer, presumably to handle work-related matters.
Sang Ruo walked over quietly, sat on the armrest of the chair, and stared at the screen: "Aren't you going to sleep? It's already very late."
"I was planning to go to sleep, but now I'm wide awake..."
The man's voice was filled with intense displeasure.
Sang Ruo understood his unspoken meaning: he still minded, didn't he?
She put her hand on his shoulder: "Okay, I really didn't mean anything by it, please don't be angry."
Bo Jinyan looked at the computer screen, then leaned back in his chair and sighed softly.
After a moment of calm, he finally spoke: "Actually, I should have been mentally prepared long ago. From the day I got together with you, I should have expected that this day would come. You two have a child together, and it's impossible for you to completely cut off all contact."
Sang Ruo heard a faint hint of helplessness in his voice.
She suddenly reached out, cupped his face in her hands, and turned his face around.
Their eyes met, and the air became exceptionally ambiguous.
Sang Ruo gently kissed his lips: "No matter what happens between him and me, I will never leave you, and my heart will always be with you."
Upon hearing her words, Bo Jinyan's upper eyelashes trembled slightly involuntarily.
He didn't say a word, just looked at her quietly, his eyes filled with an exceptionally deep affection.
Seeing that he didn't say anything, Sang Ruo asked curiously, "What? Don't you believe me...?"
Before she could finish speaking, Bo Jinyan suddenly stood up from his chair.
Sang Ruo's hand was also forced to miss its target.
The next moment, he suddenly picked her up from the armrest of the chair and walked towards the door without looking back.
Suddenly suspended in mid-air, Sang Ruo's heart leaped into her throat: "Ayan, what are you doing?"
"Go back to your room and do what you should be doing at this time."
Sang Ruo immediately understood the meaning behind his words, and her face flushed red.
Her upper eyelashes trembled slightly: "Don't you still have to work?"
"We'll talk about it tomorrow."
...
When Sang Ruo woke up, her whole body ached. She still felt ashamed when she thought about Bo Jinyan's madness last night.
Stepping into the bathroom, the bruises and welts made her gasp in horror.
It's almost early summer, so we can't wear scarves anymore. How can we cover up?
Sang Ruo rummaged through the wardrobe and finally found a silk scarf to cover up the more obvious area.
I had just gone downstairs when I suddenly received a call from Song Sui, saying that a mother and daughter had suddenly come to cause trouble, and that they knew Sang Ruo.
Sang Ruo drove to the Guofeng Studio, and as soon as she got out of the car, she saw those two familiar figures.
It was her aunt Zhang Qingxiu and cousin Sang Yun.
The two stood at the front, pointing at Sang Ruo's work and constantly cursing.
"This thing is obviously fake. I had this jade appraised! It's fake!"
"That's right! The master my daughter consulted was..."
