Chapter 484: Our respective lives (6)

In the brightly lit banquet hall, Li Baiwei walked slowly into the hall wearing a champagne-colored mermaid dress.

Her long pink hair was elegantly tied up, revealing her graceful swan neck, with a few loose strands of hair hanging just right beside her ears. Her skin was white and almost transparent, her eyelashes were long, and her lips were a light cherry blossom pink. She looked soft and harmless, like an elf who had strayed into the world of fame and fortune.

"Who is that..." someone asked in a low voice.

"The daughter of the Li family, just returned from Cambridge, is said to have a very gentle personality."

“So beautiful…”

"The evil cloth is also surprisingly large."

The men's eyes followed her unconsciously, while the women secretly breathed a sigh of relief - this non-aggressive beauty posed no threat.

Li Baiwei lowered her head slightly, pursed her lips and smiled faintly, her fingertips gently pinching the goblet, the wine reflecting her innocent eyes.

No one noticed the coldness that flashed in her eyes as she glanced across the audience.

Three days later, at the Chen Group's shareholders' meeting, Chairman Chen's face turned pale.

"Why is our new energy project suddenly being blocked from approval?!" he roared, slamming the table.

The secretary nervously handed over a document: "The latest inquiry letter from the Environmental Protection Agency... says our environmental impact assessment report contains 'significant omissions.'"

Chairman Chen suddenly remembered that at the dinner last week, Li Baiwei had 'inadvertently' mentioned that her father's old subordinate had just been transferred to a senior position in the Environmental Protection Agency.

At the time, she said with a smile, "If there's anything Uncle Chen needs help with his project, just let me know."

And now, the Chen Group's multi-billion dollar project has been shelved indefinitely due to a 'technical' environmental impact assessment issue.

The result is self-evident.

A week later, in Li Baiwei's private reception room.

Chairman Chen sat across from her, sweat dripping from his forehead. "Ms. Li, regarding that environmental impact assessment..."

Li Baiwei poured tea slowly, her pink eyelashes drooping. "Don't worry, Uncle Chen. I happen to know several top environmental assessment experts."

She pushed a document over and said, "This is their service agreement. Would you like to take a look?"

Chairman Chen opened the document and his pupils suddenly shrank - this was not a service agreement at all, but a share transfer document.

"Don't worry, the procedure is absolutely legal." Li Baiwei smiled. "Once you sign, someone will resubmit the environmental impact assessment report for you tomorrow."

Her fingertips lightly tapped the contract, and the crescent-shaped curve on her nails was as perfect as a calculated weapon.

Few people know that this seemingly harmless and elegant daughter already controls a multi-billion dollar business empire spanning finance, technology, and real estate.

Her investment portfolio spans the globe - from artificial intelligence startups in Silicon Valley, to rare minerals in Southeast Asia, to established luxury groups in Europe. Every acquisition is carefully calculated, and every expansion is silent.

Financial magazines once attempted to estimate her net worth, but ultimately could only come up with a vague figure: "Conservatively estimated, over 100 billion."

But Li Baiwei never cared about these false reputations.

For her, she cared about something else.

A month later, Chen Group's new energy project was successfully approved.

The offshore company under Li Baiwei's name quietly held 15% of the shares of Chen Group.

She was trimming a bouquet of pink roses when the secretary asked her about the 'collaboration'.

"That's how business works." She cut off the last thorn and placed the rose in a vase. "Some people only see the flower and forget the thorn on the stem."

This is Li Baiwei's daily life. She is a political devil in beautiful appearance, who eats her prey cleanly with the most elegant posture.

However, what Li Baiwei really cared about was always that person's gaze.

The business empire she carefully built and the calculations she used to manipulate the market were all for the purpose of giving her a dowry that other girls could not even dream of when she married her beloved.

Even if she becomes a demon.

The lights of the Grand Palais in Paris suddenly dimmed, and the audiences on both sides of the catwalk held their breath. The latest Supermodel World Contest was taking place here. The supermodel who won the gold medal could be crowned Miss World and gain both fame and fortune!

The first model appeared - Italian supermodel Elena, with silver hair like a waterfall, cold and beautiful as ice, and every step she took exuded a sharp aura.

The audience erupted in applause and flashbulbs poured down like an avalanche.

"Bellissima!" someone exclaimed.

Next came the Japanese mixed-race supermodel Chinatsu, with black hair and red lips. The dress, which was modified from a kimono, outlined her slender waistline, and the hem of her skirt bloomed like cherry blossoms when she walked.

Someone on the jury panel whispered, "This is Eastern aesthetics."

Then there is the legendary Brazilian supermodel Carlota, whose honey-colored skin looks like flowing amber under the light, and every step she takes carries the wildness of a tropical storm.

Someone in the audience whistled, and shutter clicks rang out in the media area.

Each of them is a top figure capable of dominating the fashion world.

Then, the music suddenly stopped.

A single spotlight hits the end of the T-stage.

Theresa stood there.

Her hair was like molten gold, flowing under the spotlight. Tiny diamonds dotted between the strands, flickering slightly with her breathing, like stars hanging in her hair.

Her skin was not flawless white, but rather a warm ivory color, like snow soaked in sunlight.

The lines of his brow bone and nose bridge were as perfect as those of ancient Greek sculptures, but they came alive because of his sea-blue eyes - the purest Mediterranean blue, which would lighten slightly under strong light, like the color of sunlight penetrating a shallow sea.

She took the first step.
