Her long hair fell on his arms, the ends of her hair still slightly cool from being wet.
"Listen, the sound of the waves." She whispered, her fingertips unconsciously drawing circles on his palm.
Lin An lowered his head and placed a kiss on her hair: "Hmm, a very peaceful voice."
In the distance, a few seagulls flew over the sea, leaving behind a string of crisp cries. Gong Sirou raised her face, and the afterglow of the setting sun reflected in her clear eyes, as if filled with starlight.
"Lin An."
"Um?"
"Let's watch the sunset together tomorrow."
He tightened his arms and held her tighter: "Okay, I'll be with you whenever you want to watch the sunset."
The sea breeze blew gently, carrying a salty and warm scent. Their shadows were stretched out and snuggled tightly on the beach, as if they would walk like this until the end of time.
At this moment, there are no complicated love entanglements, no strange love commissions, no need for words, no need for promises, just snuggling like this, feeling the sea breeze, watching the waves, and the heart is filled with peaceful happiness.
The best times are often so simple and warm.
…
…
On the street dyed red by the setting sun, Lin An walked slowly holding Gong Ya's hand.
There were crystal clear sour plums on display at a roadside stall. Gong Ya only took a quick look and Lin An stopped.
"Try it?" He bought a small bag and took a bite himself, frowning slightly: "Hmm... so sour."
But with a smile in his eyes, he handed the rest to her: "But the aftertaste is very sweet."
Gong Ya took the plum, and when their hands just touched, tears suddenly fell.
Lin An panicked: "What's wrong? Is it too sour? Or did I do something wrong?"
"No." Gong Ya shook her head, but couldn't stop crying: "I'm just too happy."
"Can I really achieve such perfect happiness? Will... because I have gained this, others will lose something?"
Lin An was stunned for a moment, then held her face and rubbed her wet cheek with his thumb.
"Silly girl." He whispered, "I've already told you that we're already husband and wife. We share both happiness and sin. Maybe your happiness will cost someone else something important, but we share this sin. I love you very much."
The evening breeze blew by, carrying with it traces of tears and the fragrance of sour plums. Gong Ya held Lin An's hand tightly, interlocking their fingers. Gong Ya also liked Lin An very much.
Both of them are so happy.
…
…
As soon as the sound of the door lock turned, Li Baiwei was already standing at the entrance. She took the suit jacket that Lin An took off and dusted off the non-existent dust.
"The braised spareribs have just dried." She turned and walked towards the dining room, the hem of her silk nightgown brushing Lin An's knees. "There's your favorite Coke in the refrigerator."
There were four dishes and a soup steaming on the table, the sweet and sour pork ribs were shiny red, and the stir-fried seasonal vegetables were green and fresh.
Lin An noticed that the steam from the rice cooker was still rising slightly - this woman must have calculated the time he would be home and cooked the rice on time.
"There is a project today..." Lin An had just started to speak when a chopstick of vegetables was stuffed into his mouth.
"Don't talk about work while eating." Li Baiwei glared at him and then carefully picked out the fish bones for Lin An.
Who would have thought that this woman who was carefully picking out fish bones for her lover would force two CEOs of listed companies to kneel down in front of her this morning.
"Don't just look at me, eat too." Lin An picked up a piece of pork ribs and gave it to her.
"I prefer watching you eat." Li Baiwei smiled lightly, acting like a little girl.
To outsiders, Li Baiwei is a political devil in beautiful appearance, who always eats others up with elegant manners. But in front of Lin An, she is a little woman who loves Lin An deeply and can do anything for him.
…
…
The kitchen was filled with a rich vanilla scent. Lin An was concentrating on applying the last layer of cream to the cake. The piping bag turned flexibly in his hands, and delicate cream roses bloomed on the edge of the cake.
"Happy birthday."
Teresa looked up when she heard the voice, and a perfect three-layer cake appeared in front of her. Each layer was evenly covered with snow-white cream and decorated with fresh strawberries and blueberries. The chocolate card on the top layer had "Teresa" written in gold foil.
Theresa carefully touched the edge of the cake with her fingertips, as if to confirm that this was not an illusion. The cream touched her fingertips, cool and sweet.
"And this." Lin An took out a small box. Inside was a silver necklace with a small moon pendant. "I think...it suits you very well."
When Theresa took the necklace, her fingers trembled slightly. She opened her mouth but said nothing. She just held the necklace tightly in her palm, as if she was afraid it would disappear.
"Do you want to try it?" Lin An asked softly.
She nodded and turned around. When Lin An's fingers accidentally brushed against the back of her neck, she held her breath. The cold metal touched her skin, but she felt burned.
The light of the candle flickered in Theresa's eyes. She looked at her name on the cake and Lin An's expectant eyes, and realized again that love as humble as dust can bloom.
When she closed her eyes and made a wish, a tear quietly fell into the cream.
…
…
On the park bench in late autumn, fallen leaves rustled under their feet.
"This is the last date." Xu Yaoji said softly, his fingertips unconsciously twisting the tassels of the scarf.
Lin An nodded silently, his eyes falling on the withered lawn in the distance.
"I regret that I shouldn't have compromised nine years ago and given you a chance to pursue me again." Xu Yaoji's voice was a little dim: "Besides, I'm a troublesome beautiful woman, and you're tired of pursuing me."
