Chapter 20 Wild Merchants

In the building, You Tianfu slept until noon. Even the sun couldn't "burn" him up. In the end, he was woken up by a phone call from Hu Jicheng.

Hu Jicheng usually contacted You Tianfu for no other reason than to ship goods. However, he usually received notification in the afternoon and left in the evening. This time, he received notification at noon and asked him to go to the company and wait.

You Tianfu didn't dare to delay. He changed his clothes, wiped his face, rubbed his aching temple, and staggered out the door.

At the company, Hu Jicheng had been waiting in the car for a while. After picking him up, he rushed to the bar again. It was the same bar as last time, and the same private room on the second floor.

When he came here before, You Tianfu was quite nervous and didn't look closely at all. This time, he looked around a few more times from outside the door, and then he saw the big neon words flashing on the bar's door curtain: Cold Flame Bar!

On the way in, Hu Jicheng lit a cigarette and whispered, "Today I'll introduce you to another man, You Chengdao, nicknamed Lao You. He's the middleman in our business, and he's the go-between. He's very slick and greedy, and even the smallest things require kickbacks. If you can get him, you won't have to worry about even the most expensive goods!"

As we were talking, we entered the private room and saw a middle-aged man sitting inside. He was wearing a black Mao suit, his hair was combed to a sleek side part, and he wore a pair of round-rimmed sunglasses. Although his appearance was simple, his accessories were not at all low-key: a small gold chain, a large gold watch, and a jade ring on his right thumb. Even his plain clothes were faintly shimmering with gold threads, which flickered with the light.

Seeing the two people enter, Lao You immediately stood up and pulled out two chairs, his smile brighter than a neon light. "Brother Hu, you are a very particular person, and you are always so punctual, not even a minute or a second off. This young man looks very lucky and has an extraordinary temperament. Could he be your founder?"

Hu Jicheng poured himself a glass of red wine and casually introduced, "This is my new little brother, You Tianfu. This is Lao You. You'll get to know each other later." He got straight to the point with a simple sentence: "That batch of diamonds will be put into the warehouse tonight. How are your contacts there? Is there any way to sell them?"

Lao You was smug. "Brother Hu, what's the deal? I'm not sure what to do. I've already made the arrangements. Tonight at 11 o'clock, at the back of the fishing harbor. Not only did I not lower the price, I even raised it a point. So, tell me, how is my ability to get things done?!"

Hu Jicheng nodded, took out a thick envelope from his pocket and threw it to him. Lao You took it in his hand. Without opening it, he pinched the thickness and knew that it was more than enough. He came over with a playful smile and poured wine and lit a cigarette.

After a few words, the job was done and Lao You stood up to say goodbye. As soon as he left, Hu Jicheng picked up his phone and called Aliang at the fishing port: "Take two people with you and go to the mountain behind the fishing port. Be smart."

You Tianfu checked the time and gently reminded, "Brother Hu, Lao You made the appointment at 11pm, and it's only 1pm now. Isn't it a bit early for Aliang to go now?"

Hu Jicheng smiled and didn't answer directly. Instead, he explained the details of the shipment: "Rhinestones are a type of diamond, but their material and purity are somewhat different from real diamonds. After artificial processing, ordinary people can't tell the difference. This shipment is small in quantity, but the cost is not low."

"Selling goods isn't as easy as you think. Those who can sell goods within the port are regular customers, with a certain degree of sincerity and trust. New customers and those unidentified traders need to be on guard!"

The two of them just sat in the bar, replacing red wine with tea, without much conversation, listening to music and sipping tea until ten o'clock in the evening.

Checking the time, Hu Jicheng stretched, his joints crackling. He called out to his friend Tianfu, and the two drove to the fishing port.

In the small house at the fishing port, Aliang had already returned. Upon seeing Hu Jicheng, he immediately began to report the situation: "A car from out of town, five people, arrived at two o'clock in the afternoon, wandered around the mountains for a few times, got in the car and never got out again. They didn't have any weapons in their hands, but it's hard to say if there were any in the car."

Hearing the arrival time, Hu Jicheng understood 70% of the situation and sneered, "There's no need to move the cargo in the cabin. Tell the brothers to stop what they are doing and follow me up the mountain to hunt rabbits."

Judging from Hu Jicheng's expression, he had already guessed that the other party was not the one who wanted to accept the goods seriously, so he prepared a response in advance, ready to teach him a lesson. Although You Tianfu understood his operation, he couldn't understand his judgment. Moreover, a large number of people went there with such fanfare, not even bringing the goods. What if they actually showed up to buy the goods with money, wouldn't it be embarrassing?

Although he didn't ask directly, Hu Jicheng had already seen the doubt in his eyes and replied casually, "Since they were able to find me through Lao You, they must be aware of our Daqin Group's background and strength. That's why normal buyers don't need to go into the mountains in advance and scout the area. They do this for one reason only: to familiarize themselves with the terrain, advance and retreat quickly, and take advantage of our paralysis in our own territory to catch us off guard.

If I'm not mistaken, we won't be able to reach the designated location and will be stopped by them on the way there!"

At half past ten, Hu Jicheng took Aliang and You Tianfu along the fishing port and went around to the back mountain, walking up the mountain slowly and leisurely.

The mountain behind the fishing port is barren. While there is a road, it ends in a barren forest. Someone once wanted to develop the hilltop, but considering the surrounding conditions, perhaps they felt there was no business opportunity, so the project was shelved. The hilltop remains derelict to this day. Aside from a cement road covered in mountain grass, the surrounding landscape is nothing but trees and grass, and nothing but rocks and dirt.

Just as Hu Jicheng had predicted, the three of them had just reached the mountainside when they saw two dark figures appear in front of them, holding long weapons in their hands. Turning around, they saw that their retreat was also blocked by three shadows.

They blocked the three men in front and behind. Under the moonlight, they were dressed in rustic clothes, with nervousness and ferocity in their eyes. The three men at the back were holding baseball bats, while the two men in the front were holding two long-barreled shotguns.

As they got closer, a smaller man in front of them raised his hunting rifle and spoke first: "I've heard a lot about you, Brother Hu. We were in a hurry today and didn't bring any money. Give us the diamonds first. We'll repay you when we make a fortune."

After that, the three men behind them caught up and searched them inside and out. Suddenly they looked up and shouted, "Brother, there's nothing on them!"

The little guy's face suddenly changed after hearing this. Before he could react, there was a rustling sound from the surrounding woods, and then more than 20 people jumped out at the same time, dividing into two circles inside and outside to surround them tightly!
