Chapter 348 Life hangs on a thread

On the way down from the barren mountain, Dalong kept thinking about how to deal with the two people. He wanted to ask Hu Jicheng what had happened and who they had offended, but Hu Jicheng was half dead this time and could never wake up no matter how much he shouted.

Just as he was looking worried, Bai Qiaoyun beside him whispered, "Since we can't go to the big hospital, if that's all that matters... let's go to the clinic first. Although the medical facilities aren't very good, at least it's a place that can treat illnesses and save lives. It's better than just waiting to die!"

When Dalong heard this, he thought it was a good idea. Otherwise, if they hesitated any longer, neither of them would be able to see the sunrise alive tomorrow morning.

So, Dalong drove his second-hand, shabby car that he had bought a few days ago and went straight to the small clinic near his home where Bai Qiaoyun worked.

The clinic was neither large nor small, and the doctor in charge was also surnamed Bai, and he and Bai Qiaoyun were somewhat related, being a distant uncle. Because Bai Qiaoyun had majored in nursing in college, she came here after graduation through an introduction.

Before leaving, Bai Qiaoyun called Dr. Bai and explained the current situation, saying that Dalong had two friends who were injured and needed treatment, and she wanted to ask him for help.

Dr. Bai was in close contact with Bai Qiaoyun's parents, and had heard about what happened between Bai Qiaoyun and Dalong, as well as Dalong's identity as a gangster. When he heard that one of his friends was injured, he immediately understood that it must be some gangster who got into a fight again.

He originally didn't want to pay attention to this kind of thing, but as a doctor, he couldn't just stand by and watch someone die. After hesitating for a long time, the compassion in his heart finally won over Dr. Bai. He got up at night and returned to the clinic, opened the door in advance and made the necessary preparations.

Although he had been mentally prepared, Dr. Bai was still shocked when he saw the two figures who had almost turned into blood gourds. He angrily scolded them in a low voice: "Why are you still coming to the clinic when you're in such a state? Why don't you rush to the hospital?! Go away!"

He was about to pack up and close the door when Dalong rushed forward and grabbed him. His eyes were anxious as he pleaded, "Uncle, please help! They've been hunted down like this. They can't go to a big hospital, or else their whereabouts will be exposed and they'll be killed. Besides, we can't continue in this situation, or their lives will really be in danger!"

Hearing that someone was chasing him, Doctor Bai was even more disgusted. He shook off Dalong's hand and took a few steps back: "I don't want to get involved in your gang's affairs, and I don't want to cause any unnecessary trouble. Since you really like Qiao Yun, you shouldn't do these useless things!

Take everyone away now. I will pretend that what happened tonight never happened and won't tell anyone. Otherwise, don't blame me for notifying Qiao Yun's parents to come and see the fun!"

After frowning and scolding a few words, he took out his cell phone and was about to call Bai Qiaoyun's parents.

Dalong quickly reached out to stop them, snatching the phone from him in a hurry. "I don't know if they're gangsters, but I do know he saved Qiaoyun and me. Uncle, you may not be a passionate man, but you're a decent person. You should repay even the smallest kindness with a thousand. Shouldn't you do your utmost to repay this life-saving favor?"

When this matter was brought up, Doctor Bai's attitude finally softened. He then learned from Dalong that the dying man in front of him with a scar on his face was the man who saved Bai Qiaoyun after she jumped off the bridge again. He sighed deeply and no longer hesitated. While asking Dalong to go out and close the door, he asked Bai Qiaoyun to quickly prepare the relevant medical tools to treat the wound.

By this time, both Lü Chuan and Hu Jicheng had already breathed their last. Hu Jicheng was covered in blood from head to toe due to knife wounds, and his entire body was basically soaked in blood. Lü Chuan, on the other hand, was relatively clean. Apart from a bloodstain on his chest, there was almost no major problem with the rest of his body.

Dalong frowned and looked around, then raised his hand and pointed at Hu Jicheng: "Uncle, this is more serious, deal with him first!"

Doctor Bai gave him a quick check and shook his head slightly: "Although this person is covered in blood, these are all superficial injuries. There is only one wound on the right leg that is so deep that the bone is exposed.

"But the wound next to it is on the chest, and it looks like a gunshot wound. If it penetrates the heart, even a god would be powerless to save him. I can only do my best to treat him, but as you can see, the facilities here are limited. We still need to rush him to a large hospital!"

Afterwards, Dr. Bai and Bai Qiaoyun worked together. They first bandaged Lu Chuan's chest wound, and then helped Hu Jicheng stop the bleeding, providing the most formal treatment in the shortest time.

Dalong was not idle either. He cleaned up his broken car and carried the two people whose wounds had been treated back into the car. Instead of going to the city, he turned around and headed for another small town a hundred kilometers away.

After arriving safely at the hospital, the two were quickly wheeled into surgery. Two hours later, Hu Jicheng was wheeled out, his wounds mostly stitched up, and his condition was relatively stable. Lü Chuan lay in bed for a full six hours, a near-death experience. His condition was critical. After a series of diagnostic tests, which lasted until dawn, the doctors finally successfully removed the bullet from his chest.

The two of them stayed in the hospital afterwards, while Dalong traveled back and forth between Lujiu City and the town, taking care of them with a few of his younger brothers.

Hu Jicheng was in bed for a month and a half. Although he recovered completely and was fine, his right leg, which was the most seriously injured, still had sequelae. It might be that the tendon was damaged, which caused him to limp when he walked after recovery, and he looked very uncoordinated.
