Chapter 728 The Three Paths to Dao, A Shortcut to Heaven

"To attain the Dao is difficult, more difficult than ascending to the heavens!"

Bai Cang sighed, "It seems I was indeed a bit too optimistic."

The waters of the Dao are too deep; even he finds it difficult to grasp.

Thirty years have passed since I entered the first gate of the inner heaven.

Bai Cang, through time manipulation, secluded himself for three thousand years to cultivate in seclusion.

He not only comprehended the principles of "Tai Chu" and "Tai Yi," but also perfected the "Huangji Jingshi Shu."

Moreover, he transformed his profound knowledge, such as "mastering the Five Thunders" and "the Great Escape of the Five Elements," into a series of mysterious cultivation techniques, all of which he cultivated to a level infinitely close to the Dao Integration stage.

However, Bai Cang still has not advanced to the Golden Immortal of the Dao Integration Realm, and remains at the level of "Perfect Dao Lord".

It's not that he can't advance to the Dao Integration stage, but rather that there are too many ways to achieve Dao Integration, and none of them satisfy him.

After all, Bai Cang was not only pursuing the merging of his primordial spirit with the Dao, but also to quickly attain pure Yang after advancing to the merging of the Dao, and even to strive for immortality.

Ordinary methods of achieving enlightenment are naturally insufficient to meet his needs; he must achieve "perfect enlightenment" in order to "ascend to heaven in one step."

For Bai Cang, the simplest way to achieve Dao integration is naturally the "Big Dipper Great Law".

No matter which Dao he wants to merge with, as long as it is not owned, he can achieve it in one fell swoop.

However, the "Beidou method" excels in its speed; besides speed, it has almost no other advantages.

Of course, if Bai Cang's needs weren't so specific, the "Beidou method" would also be a good choice.

After all, the "Big Dipper Technique" is not only fast, but also has low requirements. One only needs to cultivate the divine and demonic techniques to the "blood rebirth" state to merge with the primordial spirit and Dharma body, and immediately prove the primordial spirit's integration with the Dao, or the "undying demonic soul".

Not only is it fast and easy, but it also has a good success rate, making it an extremely clever trick.

Moreover, whether it is the primordial spirit being refined into the body to become an "undying demonic soul", or the body being transformed into the primordial spirit to become a Golden Immortal of the Dao, both are legitimate ways of achieving the Dao. The two are one and there will be no drawbacks.

That's why Bai Cang initially considered the "Big Dipper Method" as his best option.

However, the "Beidou Great Method" has a drawback that is not really a drawback, which is that it can only be used to "merge the primordial spirit with the Dao".

For the vast majority of Nascent Soul Dao Lords, this is not a problem.

After all, they were already incredibly fortunate to have advanced to the Dao Integration stage; how could they possibly hope for more?

It's not like the true Daoist who refines himself into a "pseudo-Daoist" or "quasi-Daoist" form of "illusory divine treasure."

It is the proper and orthodox path of aligning with the Dao, which allows one to advance to the rank of "Golden Immortal of the Dao" without any drawbacks.

However, it wasn't until Bai Cang was preparing to use the "Big Dipper Great Method" to advance to the "Harmony Dao Golden Needle" that he realized the "drawbacks" of the "Big Dipper Great Method".

That is: even though they are both in harmony with the Tao, there are differences.

Normally, according to the different methods of aligning with the Tao, they can be divided into three levels.

The lowest level is the "Great Law of the Big Dipper," which is a kind of "merging of the primordial spirit with the Dao," in which the primordial spirit is entrusted to the Dao it merges with, thereby mastering the great power of the Dao-merging level.

However, the next stage of cultivation requires gradually refining the Great Dao over a long period of time before one can advance to become a "Dao Master of a Region".

Without taking into account the blessing of "immortal matter," this process can take anywhere from tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of years.

Many "old bastards" who had already attained the Dao since the Suigu Era basically achieved this in this way.

This was something Bai Cang absolutely could not accept.

He couldn't wait even a few thousand years, let alone tens of thousands of years.

The "curse" of attaining pure Yang within a thousand years is a heavy shackle that has been placed on him.

Most importantly: once you officially advance to the Dao Integration stage, the technique of time teleportation will be virtually impossible to use.

Because once one's body merges with the Great Dao, it becomes one of the foundations of the universe.

Using the Dao of Time and Light on a Golden Immortal or an Undying Demon Soul is equivalent to using it on the entire universe. Who the hell can withstand such a terrifying consumption?

Even someone as wealthy and powerful as Bai Cang wouldn't dare to dream of such a thing!

If it were a battle of magic, a slight shift in time could give him a head start, and perhaps he could hold out.

However, it is practically impossible to shorten a thousand years in an instant, or to reduce tens of thousands of years of cultivation to a few hundred years.

The reason Bai Cang was able to "take shortcuts" was because his Dao Integration level was obtained through "shortcuts".

"The indestructible dust" is equivalent to "the indestructible demonic soul," but it is ultimately not the true "indestructible demonic soul."

Bai Cang did not refine the "Primordial Universal Great Dao" into his own body.

Only when using the "Treasury of the Thirty-Six Heavenly Dragon Kings" can one mobilize the "Primordial Universal Great Dao" for one's own use.

However, this kind of shortcut comes at a price.

If at this moment someone proves the existence of the "Primordial Universal Great Dao".

Bai Cang would lose a primordial Dao, and the only way to "reclaim" the "primordial universe Dao" is to kill this person first.

High-level Dao competitions at the Dao Integration level and above are just that simple and unadorned.

Either I kill you, or you kill me.

The saying "the great way of life is to contend with each other until death" perfectly describes this situation.

The method of attaining harmony with the Tao in the Middle Vehicle is called "True Spirit Harmonizing with the Tao".

This means merging the primordial spirit into the Great Dao, with the true spirit entrusting itself to the Great Dao.

Those who achieve "True Spirit Merging with the Dao" can refine more than half of the Great Dao in the instant they advance to the Dao Merging stage, reducing the time required to advance to "Lord of a Region" by at least half.

But in fact, it doesn't stop there.

The essence of "True Spirit Merging with the Dao" is to integrate the primordial spirit into the Dao it merges with, and the speed at which the primordial spirit refines the Dao is incomparable to that of "Primordial Spirit Merging with the Dao".

Some people who have achieved "true spiritual integration with the Dao" can even advance to the level of "a Dao Lord of a region" within a few thousand years.

For example, Li Boyang and Yujing Daoren are such unparalleled geniuses.

Generally speaking, "True Spirit Merging with the Dao" is the best outcome among the paths to merging with the Dao.

Unless it's a pure Yang treasure undergoing a tribulation and being reborn, or some old monster reincarnated, "true spirit merging with the Dao" is the limit for a "natural person".

However, there are still masters above the level of "True Spirit Merging with the Dao".

That is: "Transcending and uniting with the Dao"!

The so-called "transcendence and integration with the Dao" means that the true spirit transcends the external world, and the primordial spirit intertwines with the path of the Dao, refining one or even several Great Daos into one's own new "primordial spirit".

Once promoted, one can completely refine it and become a "Lord of One Region" or even a "Lord of Several Regions".

Simply put, it means: Once you align with the Great Dao, you have already attained pure Yang!

This situation usually only occurs in pure Yang treasures that have undergone reincarnation and reconstruction, or in the bodies of reincarnated pure Yang masters.

This is because they had already completely refined the Great Dao, and rebuilding was merely restoring their "previous life" cultivation level.

Moreover, if they have changed their path, or if the Great Dao they were aligned with in their "previous life" has already been occupied by someone else.

Similarly, one cannot "transcend and unite with the Dao," but can only settle for second best and seek "true spirit uniting with the Dao."

The "perfect harmony with the Dao" that Bai Cang pursues is the path of "transcending the Dao and achieving harmony with the Dao"!
