As the group entered the private room, they saw Xu Xin and a chubby, bespectacled, and dejected middle-aged man. It was obvious this was Ding Sanshi; his former glory—the NASDAQ listing—was now replaced by utter dejection.
Xu Xin stood up.
"Mr. Ding, this is Shen Fang. Mr. Shen, and next to him is his grandson Shen Kun. You are an old acquaintance of Brother Ma and the others."
Ding Sanshi and Shen Fang shook hands.
"Grandson??? Why do I feel like this grandson is older than his grandfather?"
Shen Fang's lips twitched. "How did you come up with this weird point?" Shen Kun looked speechless. "I think it's better not to introduce me."
Shen Fang smiled and said, "President Ding is really humorous."
Ding Sanshi smiled bitterly: "Now that I've fallen to this state, I can only amuse myself. Don't mind me, I made a lame joke, but unfortunately it wasn't funny."
Little Ma offered cigarettes to the group and patted Ding Sanshi on the shoulder.
"Old Ding, how can you be so weak? You can't do this. Look at me, even when the dot-com bubble burst, I'm still so sturdy and calm. A man should stand tall and not flinch even when Mount Tai is lowered. You can't do this."
Ding Sanshi rolled his eyes at Little Ma.
"Can you stop showing off in front of me? Who was complaining not long ago, even planning to sell the company? Now that Tencent is awesome, you start acting all high and mighty?"
Little Ma looked embarrassed.
"Old Ding, you're joking again, aren't you? How could I, the mighty Little Ma, possibly complain? Do you think I'm that kind of person?"
Ding Sanshi rolled his eyes at Little Ma, too lazy to bother with him. What's with the pretense? When I was awesome, you were still a nobody. Now that you've got it all up your sleeve, you start showing off in front of me. What's with all the swagger?
Well, it's true that Ding Sanshi started his career earlier than Ma Ge.
Ding Sanshi looked at Shen Fang.
"President Shen, I know you're the one who saved Tencent, but could you please save me? Save NetEase?"
Shen Fang smiled and said, "Mr. Ding, weren't you planning to sell the company?"
Ding Sanshi nodded: "I was planning to sell the company. Actually, before it was delisted, I talked to an investment company in Hong Kong. They were willing to offer 500 million to buy my shares, but I didn't agree. NetEase is my life's work, and now that it's delisted, I want to sell, but they won't agree. Mr. Shen, would you like to buy NetEase? I heard from Sister Xu that you're quite wealthy."
Shen Fang took a drag of his cigarette.
"Mr. Ding, an investment company in Hong Kong? What's its name? Do you know who's behind it?"
Ding Sanshi shook his head: "I didn't ask at the time, and the person on the other side wasn't the main target either, plus I didn't intend to sell. Why would President Shen come?"
Little Ma looked at Chen Fang.
"Brother, what do you think?"
Shen Fang nodded.
"I suspect he's the mastermind behind the attacks on NetEase. Back then, they didn't want to delist NetEase; they just wanted to force you, Mr. Ding, to sell your shares. Once you were kicked out, it would be much easier to turn the tide. But you didn't agree, which is why there's a possibility of delisting now. Someone must be maliciously shorting the stock."
Ding Sanshi nodded upon hearing this: "I also thought of this reason later, but it's no longer important to me now. NetEase is going to fail."
Xu Xin looked at Ding Sanshi.
"Mr. Ding, I have always believed in the future of NetEase. You can't be so discouraged. You need to regain your confidence."
Ding Sanshi smiled bitterly: "I'm really heartbroken. The person I promoted stabbed me in the back, and now I've been kicked out. The whole company thinks I'm the sinner of NetEase. I want to sell NetEase now."
Xu Xin sighed.
She always felt that Ding Sanshi's future was limitless, but who knew that his great cause would collapse before it was even halfway done.
Shen Fang looked at Ding Sanshi: "President Ding, you have absolute control over NetEase. If you want to deal with Li Jinghui, isn't it just a matter of minutes?"
Ding Sanshi sighed.
"Now everyone in the company listens to him, and I... sigh... never mind, I'm heartbroken."
Now the dishes are served.
Shen Fang and Xiao Ma exchanged a glance; it seemed this blow had been very significant for Ding Sanshi.
Five minutes later, all the dishes were served.
Chen Fang picked up his wine glass
"Mr. Ding, after having a drink, let's talk about how to save NetEase."
Xu Xin's eyes lit up upon hearing this.
"President Shen, you!!!"
Shen Fang looked at Ding Sanshi with a smile.
"Come on, let's have a drink."
Ding Sanshi was taken aback.
However, she still raised her glass and drank a glass with Shen Fang.
Xu Xin looked at Shen Fang and asked anxiously.
"Chen Fang, how do you plan to save NetEase?"
Shen Fang looked at Ding Sanshi.
"Mr. Ding, do you want to make a triumphant return?"
Ding Sanshi took a bite of food: "Of course I want to. My company, which I worked so hard to build, was taken over by thieves. Of course I want to make a triumphant return. The key problem is, I don't know how."
Shen Fang smiled and said, "Then I'll let you stand up straight, but I have a small request."
Ding Sanshi looked at Shen Fang with suspicion: "What are your requirements?"
"Once this matter is settled, I want 20% of your shares, valued at 100 million."
Ding Sanshi frowned upon hearing this.
"Mr. Shen, do you really have a way to save me?"
Shen Fang nodded: "Of course."
Ding Sanshi drank a glass of wine and slapped the table.
"I know you can help me, so I'll sell my shares to you. When can we sign the contract?"
Shen Fang smiled and said, "No rush. NetEase isn't worth much right now. We can sign more contracts without any problem. Mr. Ding, you're not thinking of taking the money and running away, are you?"
Ding Sanshi chuckled: "How could that be?"
Chen Fang... Good heavens, you actually have this idea? Damn, it seems Ding Sanshi is really at his wit's end. This fatso isn't honest either, but thinking about it, Ding Sanshi has never been an honest man.
