Shen Fang looked at Jin Tianxia Er: "President Jin Tian, this matter is not under my jurisdiction."
Jin Tianxia smiled and said, "Shen Sang, our company has plenty of sincerity."
Shen Fang laughed: "Then tell me."
"If we can make this happen, all of Dragon Media's film and television works will be able to be distributed smoothly in Kyushu and other regions of Japan, and we will provide additional subsidies for theatrical releases. In addition, Dragon Media will have priority to sell the animation copyrights of our company at a rock-bottom price."
Shen Fang's eyes lit up; the old man had offered quite a price. However, his word wasn't final.
“Mr. Jintian, I’ll go talk to the leaders of the cultural department first. This matter can’t be settled in a day or two, but I will do my best to make it happen.”
Jin Tianxia stood up and bowed, saying, "Thank you, Chen Sang."
Shen Fang waved his hand: "Don't be so polite. Let's talk about the movie. To be honest, I'm quite interested too. But since we're going to film the Three Kingdoms, and it's a big production with a budget of 50 million US dollars, which part would be suitable for us to film?"
Jin Tianxia looked at the old strategist respectfully.
"We have entrusted the film entirely to director Zhang Yimou. We are only responsible for the investment. I trust director Zhang Yimou. We will send our most professional screenwriters to brainstorm with director Zhang on the specific script."
Shen Fang was overjoyed and patted Zhang Yimou on the shoulder.
"Senior, look at your status now. President Jin Tian is really giving you face. Not only did he give you a 30 million yuan directing fee, but he also doesn't care about anything else and has entrusted you with full responsibility."
Zhang Yimou, on the other hand, said the results were huge. After all, it's a co-production, his own company is involved, the two regions have different cultures, there wasn't even a script, and they still had to invest in making the film.
The dishes were now all served.
Shen Fang raised his wine glass and drank with Jin Tianxia Er. Lao Mouzi and the others also toasted with Jin Tianxia Er.
The group ate and chatted.
Jin Tianxia provided some direction.
"The best films are those featuring Cao Cao, Zhuge Liang, and Zhao Yun. These three have the largest audience in Japan, especially Zhao Zilong."
Shen Fang suddenly thought of a Hong Kong film, *Three Kingdoms: Resurrection of the Dragon*. To be honest, the film was quite good, but the costumes and props had major problems. They used Ming Dynasty armor as Han Dynasty armor, and the entire movie was filmed in the windswept desert, resulting in a very dark and uncomfortable color palette. There were also issues with the actors and the plot. Liu Bei's first encounter with Zhao Zilong, with his white horse and silver spear, was a perfect match – a far cry from the barefoot villagers eating flatbread in the film. Even the classic Battle of Changban was moved to Fengming Mountain. Furthermore, historically, Zhao Zilong died a natural death, but in the film, he was killed, betrayed by Zhuge Liang.
Even in their twilight years, a hero remains a hero.
Moreover, it seems that Zhao Zilong was never injured in any of the official histories or the Records of the Three Kingdoms.
There is a folk legend that Zhao Yun never suffered a single injury or shed a drop of blood during his military career. Although Zhao Yun charged around on the battlefield, he was never wounded, which became the cause of his death.
When Zhao Yun was old, he was taking a bath at home one day. His wife was scrubbing his back and noticed that although he was old, his skin was fair and smooth, and there was not a single scar on his body.
His wife found it strange and asked, "Husband, you've fought in so many battles, how come you've never been injured?"
Zhao Yun replied proudly, "Of course, I have fought countless battles and killed countless enemies, but I have never met anyone who has the ability to make me suffer even the slightest injury or bleed even a drop of blood."
Upon hearing this, his wife's childlike spirit was stirred, and she secretly took out an embroidery needle and pricked it into Zhao Yun's arm. Instantly, a drop of blood flowed from Zhao Yun's arm.
Zhao Yun felt excruciating pain, the muscles in his face grew increasingly hard, and his breathing became weaker and weaker... Zhao Yun did not die on the battlefield, but was killed by his wife pricking him with an embroidery needle.
While such a statement may seem somewhat comical, it better reflects the death of such a peerless hero. He didn't die on the battlefield or from illness; rather, he died unexpectedly from exhaustion, which allows for a more mythologized version of his story.
There's an old saying that highly skilled martial arts masters are invulnerable to swords and spears, but they always have a weak point; if that point is breached, they will die.
Shen Fang briefly explained his idea: to film Zhao Zilong's chance encounter with Liu Bei while wielding his hundred silver spears, which Liu Bei admired, his seven charges into and out of Changban to rescue A Dou, his conquest of four counties in Sichuan, his interception of A Dou on the river, and most importantly, the Battle of Hanshui, the founding battle of the Shu Kingdom.
The main focus is on a brave war god who saves Liu Bei's son, Liu Shan, and helps him establish his great cause. Ultimately, he's mythologized and dies a natural death. The film should be exciting, thrilling, and feature many large-scale scenes.
Jin Tianxia expressed his approval, saying that Zhao Yun is great. There are so many die-hard fans of Zhao Yun in Japan, he is the most popular character, and he is a great hero. If this movie is made, and then a fan game, fan cards, fan merchandise and so on are made, it would be best to make a sequel. After that, they can make movies about the Five Tiger Generals, Zhuge Liang, and the Battle of Red Cliffs, and keep ripping off the fans.
Upon hearing Jin Tianxia's words, Shen Fang remarked that Jin Tianxia knew how to have fun, as he was thinking of Jin Tianxia's lines. Jin Tianxia replied that they were kindred spirits, and they would harvest the韭菜 (a metaphor for exploiting others) together. China would belong to Longteng, Japan to him, Southeast Asia to be harvested together, and as for the remaining Europe and America, they would try to invade and take what they could get.
Shen Fang said, "Great job! You really know how to live your life! Yo-shi yo-shi."
The meal was very enjoyable. Shen Fang took out his phone and asked Wang Zhongjun to send their Chinese-American public relations department to do something for Xiao Rizi.
Then he gave Jin Tianxia a knowing look, since he was also involved in the translation and had other things to do, so he asked Huang Bin to stay with him.
Jintian Shigeji expressed his deep gratitude.
"Shen Sang, remember to come to Japan next year when the cherry blossoms bloom. I'll arrange for you to be accompanied by amazing cherry blossom girls, and also have top-tier AV actresses serving you. Whether it's Mutou Ran, Kobayakawa Reiko, Kurai Sora, Kyoka Julia, or Okita Anri, I'll arrange them all. I'll make sure you have an amazing time."
