As the best man, Shen Fang naturally put on a show, drinking one cup after another until he was completely drunk.
......
"Awake?"
Shen Fang covered his head and looked at Chen Huilin in front of him, somewhat bewildered.
"Have some water, why are you drinking so much?" Chen Huilin handed Shen Fang a cup of strong tea that she had brewed to help him sober up.
Shen Fang took it and poured it down his throat, taking a long time to come to his senses.
"Brother Ma is newly married, so as his good brother, I naturally can't skimp on the drinks. Where are the others?"
"They were all drunk, but they've probably sobered up by now."
"What time is it?"
"It's almost 6 o'clock, get up quickly."
Shen Fang nodded, put on his clothes, and kissed Chen Huilin.
"Ugh, you reek of alcohol." Chen Huilin pushed Chen Fang away.
With a smile, Shen Fang put his arm around Chen Huilin's waist and walked out of the room. They entered the private room that had been prepared.
Little Ma, Chen Yidan, Zhang Zhidong, Xu Chenhua, Shen Kun, and Fatty Ding all sat there looking a bit listless, having drunk too much. However, Little Ma was being taken care of; Zhong Qing was very virtuous, feeding him fruit, one bite at a time, which made Fatty Ding roll his eyes.
Shen Fang and Chen Huilin sat next to Liu Qianqian, and Liu Shishi handed Shen Fang an orange.
"Brother Chen Fang, have an orange to help with the hangover."
Shen Fang smiled and said, "Thank you, Shishi."
Peel the orange and put it in your mouth.
Everyone arrived, and the banquet began. That evening, no one drank much more; each person drank a small cup of wine (about 100ml), and once finished, no one was urged to drink anymore.
After dinner, Xiao Ma and Shen Fang went to the private room and looked at the still very young Lu Yun. To be honest, she was really ugly, incredibly ugly.
Shen Fang handed Lu Yun a cigarette: "President Lu has really opened our eyes this year."
Looking at Shen Fang's handsome face, Lu Yun felt a surge of envy, jealousy, and resentment. He wasn't envious of Shen Fang's wealth, but his appearance made him grit his teeth with envy.
"Mr. Shen, I don't understand what you mean."
Shen Fang looked at Little Ma, who lit a cigarette and chuckled, "Today is my wedding day, and I didn't want to talk about business. But Mr. Lu, isn't it going too far for Taobao to use our Tencent platform to advertise for Taobao in a viral way and provide hyperlinks?"
“We welcome normal advertising collaborations, of course, but this kind of exploitation is just wrong.”
Lu Yun narrowed his eyes, giving himself away.
"Mr. Ma, what are you saying? I don't understand."
Seeing Lu Yun feigning ignorance, Pony Ma got angry: "Don't you understand? Your Alibaba users are using viral hyperlinks to advertise wildly on our Tencent platform, attracting merchants. In just 7 days, the number of links posted has reached millions. You're telling me you don't know?"
Lu Yun looked completely innocent: "Mr. Ma, I really don't know anything about this. Do you think there's some kind of misunderstanding? Is it possible that the business is trying to attract users and is spontaneously advertising? I really don't know what's going on."
"I'll go back and send a notice to the merchants to warn them."
Shen Fang laughed: "President Lu, let's not beat around the bush. Tencent won't let you get away with this for free. Since you say you don't know, then we'll have to take it to court."
Lu Yun smiled and said, "I really didn't know, Mr. Shen. If it comes to court, Alibaba will be there for you. I'm sorry, I have to go now. Mr. Ma, happy marriage."
As Lu Yun stepped out of the room, Little Ma, his face contorted with rage, slammed his fist on the table with a loud bang.
"You brat!!! Your skin is as thick as a city wall!!!"
Ding Sanshi, Zeng Liqing, Chen Yidan, Xu Chenhua, Zhang Xiaolong, and Zhang Zhidong also came in.
Shen Fang patted Xiao Ma on the shoulder: "Don't get so angry. The law on the internet isn't very well-regulated yet, which is why he's not afraid."
Little Ma was very unhappy: "Damn it, I'm the only one who gets something for free, no one ever gets something for free from me. That son of a bitch will pay the price sooner or later."
Ding Sanshi rubbed his nose: "This Lu Yun is no simple man. I've met him a few times, and he's quite thoughtful and opinionated. Moreover, he's particularly good at conning people; he's better at making empty promises than Xiao Ma."
This year, Alibaba's new product, Wangwang, quickly dethroned eBay China, which held a 90% market share, within just a few months. Having captured nearly 50% of the e-commerce market, Alibaba's approach is quite aggressive.
Taobao's rise to prominence began in 2003, during the SARS outbreak.
In 2003, the retail industry was severely impacted by the SARS epidemic, but businesses and enterprises joined forces to revitalize the market.
Taobao was created in response to this need and officially launched in May. Taobao advertising began to be rolled out in full swing. Opening an online store on Taobao is free for 3 years, requiring almost no cost.
This is also one of the key factors that led Taobao to defeat eBay.
In the spring of 2003, eBay China still dominated the Chinese C2C e-commerce market, holding approximately 90% of the market share.
However, eBay's business model involves charging merchants a listing fee of as little as 1 to a few cents for each item they list, and there are time limits for listing items. In addition, the platform charges a commission for each sale, making it a purely fee-based model.
These fees make merchants hesitant to launch new products, fearing they'll waste their money and that their business scale will be limited, since everyone loves freebies.
Then the new platform Taobao arrived, offering a free 3-year trial. Within a month of its launch, Taobao had over 10,000 registered users.
Twelve years after Taobao's inception, Pinduoduo's rise amidst the peak of Taobao and JD.com is partly attributable to its adoption of Taobao's strategy of "zero barriers to entry and low-cost store opening."
The second reason is that Alipay was launched in October 2003. Buyers pay through Alipay, and the payment is held by Taobao (Taobao's payment platform) until the buyer receives the goods and confirms that everything is correct before transferring the money to the seller.
