Chapter 655 No Thieves Opens the Picture

"Brother Long, is everything going smoothly on set?"

"Everything is going smoothly, and we expect to wrap up filming in early March next year."

Shen Fang nodded. He was in charge of the Kung Fu Dream project. The project started ahead of schedule, but the risks were greatly reduced after the storyline was further refined.

In addition, Chen Fang also plans to launch a high-speed pursuit project, taking advantage of Cheng Long's youth and ability to fight, to gain more reputation and make some money.

Otherwise, once Jackie Chan gets too old to fight or run anymore, the project will be shelved. Besides Jackie Chan, there really isn't anyone suitable for this project in China. No one has his level of influence. Only Jet Li can be compared, but Jet Li is basically semi-retired now. Moreover, Shen Fang has always felt that Jet Li's filmmaking is not as devout and professional as Jackie Chan's.

In action scenes, Jackie Chan can't compare to Jet Li, but if we're talking about who the real superstar is, it has to be Jackie Chan, without a doubt.

All the artists from Longteng came in, and Chang Lihong arranged for them to start socializing.

It's 11 o'clock.

People are arriving.

All the well-known media companies from Beijing have come.

The host came on stage, and it was Xie Nan, the leading host from Enlight Media. Yes, she is Wu Jing's wife, although the two are not together yet.

"Distinguished guests, leaders, and colleagues from the film and television industry, welcome to the premiere of 'A World Without Thieves.' Let's give a warm round of applause to the main creative team of 'A World Without Thieves' on stage. Welcome director Feng Xiaogang, Andy Lau, Ge You, Li Lianhua, Zeng Li, Huang Bo, and other leading actors to the stage. Please give them a round of applause..."

Feng Xiaogang, Andy Lau, Zeng Li, Huang Bo, Ge You, Li Lianhua, and others walked out from backstage, and Xie Nan handed them a microphone.

Feng Kuzi accepted the invitation: "Thank you all, distinguished guests, leaders, colleagues, and movie fans, for coming to the premiere of 'A World Without Thieves.' I am very excited. Before the film is released, I would like to thank three people. The first is President Shen. Thank you for your strong support." Shen Fang stood up and greeted everyone around him.

"Secondly, I want to thank President Han and President Wang. Thirdly, I want to thank the main actors present, especially Andy Lau, Ge You, Zeng Li, Li Lianhua, and Huang Bo. You all worked very hard. The filming conditions were very harsh, and you suffered a lot these past few months with me."

Andy Lau and others all said it was their duty, and that it was an honor to work with Director Feng.

The preliminaries are over, time for the main event.

"No Thieves Under Heaven" - the show is officially starting.

The movie opens with the melodious sound of the erhu... The opening scene features Andy Lau and Zeng Li, a pair of master thieves. After a scam, the two arrive in a deserted area to sell stolen goods. On the way, Zeng Li becomes pregnant and wants to retire from the underworld. Andy Lau is cold and ruthless, much like a villain.

Following Huang Bo's (Shagen) appearance... The main plot takes place in the cramped train carriage, and the confined space intensifies the tension and excitement of the competition between several different forces. Huang Bo's character, Shagen, is the epitome of pure goodness. Although he is naive and ignorant of the world, his soul is uncorrupted, representing the idealized and pure humanity.

Uncle Li, played by Ge You, Xiao Ye, played by Li Lianhua, and the thief gang played by You Yong and Lin Jiadong are the opposite and opposite representatives of reality. They are ruthless in their pursuit of profit, and value money over feelings. They are a microcosm of the bad and evil in society.

Andy Lau's character Wang Bo and Zeng Li's character Wang Li represent the redemption of turning from evil to good. Wang Li has the opportunity to repent because she is pregnant and accumulates good deeds for her unborn child. She meets a kind, simple, and innocent person like Sha Gen and strengthens her belief in stopping her evil ways and becoming a good person again. She embodies the inspiring power of love, family affection, and compassion.

Andy Lau's Wang Bo is the best-written character in the entire film. From mocking Wang Li for her "desire to go ashore" and her madness, to loving and protecting her because of her protection of Sha Gen, to learning that he has a child and being truly moved by Sha Gen's purity and innocence, he wholeheartedly tries to fulfill Sha Gen's dream of "a world without thieves." Wang Bo's transformation is full of reasonable human ups and downs and human touch, and it is also a manifestation of chivalrous spirit. Therefore, "A World Without Thieves" can also be considered a modern-style "martial arts film" by Feng Xiaogang.

Uncle Li and Xiao Ye use various tricks to steal Sha Gen's money, repeatedly outwitting and outmaneuvering Wang Bo, who protects him, creating an entertaining treasure-hunting adventure. Andy Lau's egg-peeling scene, Ge You's egg-peeling scene with his bare hands, the finger-blade duel at close range, and Andy Lau and Li Lianhua's "tango dance" are all classic scenes that showcase their stunts. Detective Zhang Hanyu, who waits for the right moment to strike, Fan Wei who robs people for IQ cards, and the orchid-finger thief Feng Yuanzheng all deliver outstanding performances as supporting characters.

Uncle Li's cold smile concealing a knife, and his cunning and ruthlessness, were portrayed by Ge You with a touch of dark humor, dissolving the character's terrifying nature. Andy Lau showed no awkwardness in collaborating with the mainland production team; on the contrary, he vividly portrayed Wang Bo's shrewdness and later genuine chivalry, making him a truly compelling character. His scenes with Zeng Li were both playful and deeply moving, and the final scene where Zeng Li eats roast duck without dialogue and sheds tears is a truly unforgettable moment…

The two-hour film is full of climaxes. It can be said to be the pinnacle of road movies. Feng Xiaogang, with his utopian ideal of "no bad guys", actually questions the world where bad guys are everywhere. It has the confidence of a New Year's comedy, the intention of upholding fairy tales and reflecting on reality, and the scene brings together two screen gods, Andy Lau and Ge You. In addition, there are the beautiful Zeng Li and Li Lianhua. The whole film is a very successful work in terms of plot, acting, costumes and props, and meaning.
