Chapter 153 Don’t be afraid, I’m here

After getting on the train, Qianlin stared out the window, unwilling to miss any frame of the scenery outside the window.

Ning He looked at him with a smile without disturbing him. She leaned back in the chair and did not feel sleepy.

I got up too early in the morning and rushed to catch the train. Now that I'm on the train, my tense nerves finally relax.

Her eyelids were about to droop, and her head, which was leaning against the back of the chair, was covered by the man's big hand and gently leaned to the side.

It was not until his head rested on his broad shoulders that Ning He opened his eyes, and his vision became much clearer.

He Shaochuan patted the top of her head and whispered, "Go to sleep. Sleep on my shoulder. It will be more comfortable."

There is a free human backrest, it would be a waste if she doesn't sleep on it.

Ning He raised the corners of her lips slightly, leaned comfortably on He Shaochuan's shoulder, and slowly closed her eyes.

Qianlin didn't know what he saw. He pointed at the window and turned back excitedly, wanting to share with Ning He: "Mom, mom, look, there's something outside the window..."

Before he could finish his words, he was stopped by He Shaochuan's warning look.

Qianlin looked at his mother who was leaning on his father and had already fallen into a deep sleep.

He Shaochuan said in a deep voice: "Your mother is exhausted today, let her rest for a while, don't bother her."

Qianlin pursed his lips, but finally closed them obediently, turned his head and admired the scenery outside the window alone.

Ning He slept for a long time and had a dream.

The dream went back to before her death.

On a sunny morning, Ning He was pushed in a wheelchair by her brother, and the family went to a photo studio next to the hospital to take a family photo.

Ning He knew that she would not live long, so she specifically asked for a small wish, which was to take a family photo with her family. She also hoped that they would not forget her after she was gone.

Whenever I miss her, I can take out this family photo and look at it.

She has undergone chemotherapy and her hair has fallen out. While her physical condition allows, we want to take a beautiful family photo.

The last moment of the dream was also frozen on that family photo.

It was not until the train station announcement sounded that He Shaochuan whispered in her ear and called her up.

Ning He slowly opened his eyes.

There is still some sense of loss in my heart.

He Shaochuan noticed that she looked a little strange, so he asked her, "What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"

She shook her head. She just missed home a little. After being here for so long, this was the first time that Ning He felt so obsessed with home.

Could it be that the original body also misses home? Will it make her feel more homesick?

Ning He asked He Shaochuan: "Have we arrived yet?"

"The train has arrived, we need to take the shuttle bus instead."

Ning He nodded and quickly regained her composure. Holding Qianlin's hand, the family of three got off the train and boarded the bus back to the village.

Qianlin didn't sleep on the train. As soon as he got on the bus, he leaned on Ninghe's arms and fell asleep instantly.

Seeing this, He Shaochuan put down the things in his hands, reached out and hugged Qianlin, and said, "Buy him a seat next time and let him sit by himself."

"Isn't it good for children to go for free? Why do you have to spend money to buy a seat? Comrade He Shaochuan, you really don't know how to save money anymore."

He Shaochuan did not refute, but responded calmly: "Well, don't save money that shouldn't be saved."

Ning He was speechless. Not to mention that Qianlin was a child and didn't need money, even if he spent money to buy a seat for Qianlin, would he be willing to let Qianlin sit with a stranger?

Ning He looked out the window. The car was driving on a dirt road with green fields on both sides of the road.

The view was endless and the sky was clear. Ning He felt much better unconsciously after seeing it.

He Shaochuan looked at Ning He's profile and reached out to hold her cold hand.

"Don't be afraid, I'm here." The man's assurance sounded beside me.

Ning He's thoughts were interrupted and she turned around to meet He Shaochuan's deep eyes.

"What did you say?" My heart was in my throat.

Ning He's face flashed with guilt, and she asked again: "I'm going back to my own home, why should I be afraid?"

He Shaochuan stared at her face without blinking, and Ning He suddenly looked away. She always felt that there was something wrong with He Shaochuan.

"I wrote to you before, but you replied in a bad manner. I thought you were worried that I would scold you after seeing you."

So that's how it is. Ning He breathed a sigh of relief.

He regained his smile and said, "I had a bad attitude before. This time when I go back I will apologize to my father."

He Shaochuan responded without exposing Ning He.

His father-in-law did write a few letters, but those letters were all written to He Shaochuan, hoping that he could be more tolerant of Ning He and be more forgiving of her.

It was also during this period of testing that He Shaochuan could be sure that Ning He in front of him had changed.

Finally, after a day and a night of journey, they arrived at Shili Village, the village where Ning He's family lived.

In a small county town, the village where He Shaochuan's family lives is in the next village.

The bus turned into the station and many people got off the bus carrying large and small bags.

He Shaochuan also woke up Qianlin. Qianlin opened his hazy eyes, blinked, and asked dazedly, "Mom, where are we?"

Ning He touched Qian Lin's little face and replied with a smile: "We are at grandpa and grandma's house."

When Qianlin heard this, he perked up and his eyes brightened. He took Ninghe's hand and got out of the car.

He Shaochuan was carrying a lot of luggage.

They walked out of the station and saw many tricycles parked at the door, waiting to pick up passengers.

Someone came up to solicit business: "You have so much luggage, it must be heavy to carry, taking a bus is convenient and comfortable, do you want to take a bus?"

Ning He smiled and asked the driver, "Master, where did you buy this car?"

The master was amused when he heard this: "What's the matter? You want to buy a car?"

"Yes, I thought it would be convenient to buy a car and ride it myself. I can also come to the station to pick up passengers like you when I have nothing to do. Maybe after doing it for a while, I can earn back the money I paid for the ride."

After hearing what Ning He said, the master was stunned for a moment.

Are customers so savvy nowadays? Not only did they fail to carry passengers, but they also came to steal their business.

The master said nothing and walked back to his car silently.

He Shaochuan asked Ning He in confusion: "Don't you want to sit down?"

Ning He shook his head: "No, let's go buy one after we get home and put our things away."

"Okay" He Shaochuan had no objection to Ning He's decision to buy a car.

He had said before that when he returned home, he would buy a bicycle and take Ninghe for a ride around the village.

Fortunately, Shili Village was not far from the station. After walking for about ten minutes, they finally reached the entrance of the village.

At the entrance of the village, there were middle-aged women sitting under the trees chatting.

Ning He was walking in front holding Qian Lin's hand. When the aunties and grandmas at the entrance of the village saw Ning He, they paused from cracking melon seeds.

They all stared at Ning He.

One of them couldn't help but ask, "Hey, why do this woman and this child look so familiar?"

I always feel like I've seen it somewhere, but I can't remember where it is at the moment.

"Is she the daughter of someone in our village? She looks familiar."

Finally, an old lady remembered and quickly interrupted their guesses, whispering to them, "Oh, what a bad memory you all have, this is the village chief's daughter, Ning He!"
