Chapter 3: The husband I found for free is coming back

While wondering how the original owner managed to live with a body weighing nearly 200 pounds, he was also worried about how to get the two little kids closer to him.

"What are you up to? Ruoruo is a girl, so if you want to hit someone, just hit me."

Obviously Tiedan still didn't trust her, so he pushed Ruoruo back more than a meter and walked quickly towards where Ruan Suhe was sitting, with his head lowered and his spine straight, looking like a stubborn bull.

Ruan Suhe was both angry and amused at the moment. She was angry because she had tried very hard to be gentle, but the two little brats still regarded her as a scourge; what made her amused was that Tiedan looked so stubborn and silly, which made her want to stroke his short hair.

"Tiedan's mother, there's a package for your family, please check it."

Ruan Suhe was just about to reach out her hand when the postman Xiao Yan, riding a 28-inch bicycle, came shouting towards them from a distance.

Her legs and feet were not convenient, so she put her hands back and supported herself on the edge of the small stool and managed to stand up.

When Tiedan saw a stranger was there, he restrained his stubbornness, raised his head, took a few quick steps forward, and took the package from the postman.

"Uncle Xiao Yan, is this my father's package?"

...

...

Then he handed the form and pen to Ruan Suhe and asked her to sign. In Ruan Suhe's memory, the original owner could write her own name, but her writing speed was a little slow.

In order to avoid others noticing anything unusual, Ruan Suhe signed her name in the same style and speed as the original owner. After completing the process of receiving the package, the postman said hello and hurried on to deliver the package to the next household without staying for long.

Ruan Suhe opened the package directly. On the top was a letter. She opened it without thinking too much. She was shocked when she saw it.

The main information in the envelope can be summarized in two sentences: The original owner's husband was seriously injured during the mission and needs to go home to recuperate.

...Go home! Rest?

No, Ruan Suhe really didn't expect to see the original owner's husband, with whom she only spent three days a year, so soon!

This! This! This! She's about to meet the husband she found for free? This is clearly forcing her to do something she's not supposed to do.

She, she has been single for ten thousand years! How could she know how to get along with the original owner's husband?

Before she traveled through time, she was a career-oriented woman. Otherwise, how could she have bought a big villa in full, earned a monthly salary of $100,000, and raised ten Maine Coons of different fur colors before she was thirty?

"Ahem, um, is there something wrong with dad?"

Tiedan keenly sensed Ruan Suhe's surprised expression and became worried for a moment.

"Ah, that, it's nothing serious. Your dad will be back soon. Let's go back to the house and sort out the packages first."

In order to avoid arousing the two children's suspicion, Ruan Suhe immediately changed the subject.

Although Tiedan remained skeptical this time, he did not hesitate and helped Ruan Suhe lift the package.

However, he was not heading towards the living room, but the master bedroom.

"Not in the master bedroom, but in the living room."

Ruan Suhe had seen in the original owner's memory that every time a package was sent back by mail, the original owner would secretly move it into the master bedroom and hide it privately.

But what the original owner didn't expect was that all those little actions were seen by the two little kids.

This sentence made Tiedan pause as he walked towards the master bedroom. He turned around and looked at Ruan Suhe with a puzzled look, as if he was trying to confirm the authenticity of the story.

She ignored Tiedan's tactical pause and led the way to the living room.

Ruoruo kept her head down timidly, didn't say anything, and followed closely with her left hand tightly grasping the lower right corner of Tiedan's shirt.

Ruan Suhe knew that it was useless to explain anything to the two kids now, so she simply gave up explaining.

After the two people, one big and one small, put the packages on the table in the living room, she opened all the packages and found that there were quite a few good things, even some scattered cloth coupons and food coupons.

The first things that came into the fore were two large cans of malted milk. Needless to say, she knew that these were sent back by the original owner's husband to provide nutritional supplements for the two little ones.

There were also some candies and peach cakes that were rare in the village, and even two small bottles of clam oil and pearl cream.

Seeing this, Ruan Suhe felt that this husband who was far away in the army was actually quite nice to the original owner.

"Go boil some water."

She was still sorting the items in the package and didn't even raise her head. She casually gave a reminder. She thought no one would respond, but out of the corner of her eye she saw Tiedan holding Ruoruo's little hand, lifting the curtain and leaving the house without saying a word. She was a little surprised for a moment.

[Tsk tsk, it seems this kid is a tough guy and doesn't respond to soft words. ]

After complaining to himself for two seconds, he started to organize the things in the package.

After Tiedan boiled the water, she took the lead in making three small bowls of malted milk, blew on it and handed it to the two children. Seeing their unbelievable expressions, she curled her lips.

"Drink it, I didn't poison it."

Then, without waiting for the children to react, she turned around and tried again to make dinner.

The result of the hard work was not what Ruan Suhe had hoped for. He put too little oil in the frying eggs, so they were burnt; he wanted to make porridge, but he put too little water; in short, the final dinner was just mediocre.

After dinner, night fell and the dark blue color gradually turned into dark blue. The three of them finally climbed onto the kang and lay down, but the two little ones were still a little far away from Ruan Suhe.

Ruan Suhe looked at the two little ones curled up in the west corner of the kang. After a while, they fell asleep and breathed steadily. She couldn't fall asleep for a long time.

As soon as I close my eyes, the memories of the original owner appear before my eyes, coming and going like a slide show, sometimes blurry and sometimes clear.

Ruan Suhe felt like she was dreaming. She had fallen from a middle- to upper-middle-class family to the 1970s when material resources were scarce. All her efforts had gone to waste.

Thinking of this, tears welled up in her eyes and bean-sized tears rolled down, wetting the pillowcase. She was always very rational and claimed to be a "strong woman", but now she couldn't hold it back at all.

"Knock, knock, knock." There was a knock on the door. It shouldn't be so late, right?

Ruan Suhe was confused and immediately reached out to wipe away the tears from the corners of her eyes. She quickly got up from the bed and hobbled to the door in her cloth shoes to ask and check.

"Who is it? What's up so late?"

"It's me, Suho."

Just four words made Ruan Suhe stop in her tracks. This magnetic and deep baritone was obviously the husband of the original owner. No, no, no, now he was her husband who she had picked up for free.

She hesitated and dared not step forward, her voice trembling: "Lu Zhengxiang?"

"Yes, it's me, Su He, open the door." Lu Zhengxiang responded in a low voice outside the door.
