Chapter 291: The Last Light (XIX)
"For Ersun!"
Rivet shouted the same slogan as twenty years ago, and just like his father, he received a response from the soldiers.
"For Ersun!"
"For Kislev!"
Boye raised the sword high. Hundreds of gazes were entangled on the tip of the sword that had witnessed hundreds of years of border wars.
All the warriors were waiting, waiting for the Chaos Legion to reach the best charging distance.
Levich paid close attention to the Chaos Warriors who were beginning to charge, and roughly estimated the distance that the other party would reach next. At a certain moment, perhaps when the sun in the sky was the strongest, the sword disappeared from the sight of the warriors one by one, and it fell.
Boye slapped his warhorse and moved forward slowly. Teams of Winged Hussars followed their leader closely. The Winged Hussars further behind also received definite orders and followed their companions in the front.
The warhorse moved forward at a leisurely pace. Levich put his sword back into the scabbard and took out the cavalry command horn. He had no flag-bearer, so he had to blow the charge himself. Fortunately, he was best at this.
The rapid music gave new instructions to every Winged Hussar. The horses dispersed during the charge, changing from a wall formation to a cone formation.
Chaos Warriors will not be defeated by the mighty momentum of groups of cavalry. They can only do their best to kill the enemy in one go. There is no second chance.
When the warhorse changed from a slow walk to a trot, Rivet hung the charge horn on the left and took off the steel spear on the right.
The Winged Hussars pointed their spears at the enemy in unison. Their horses galloped faster and faster. The sound of their hooves vibrated on the grassland. The turbulent air currents washed over the specially made feathers, making them emit crisp sounds like shaking pine needles.
Like leaves cheering in the wind, the feathers on the backs of the Winged Hussars trembled at an accelerating rate, and as the speed of their horses reached its peak, they cheered at the top of their lungs.
But this deadly sound that could scare ordinary enemies only made the Chaos Warriors more eager to fight.
The Chaos Lord on the Steel Bull was led to the enemy by the violent Khorne Demon, and the Chaos Champion rushed towards the spearhead of the Winged Hussar Legion.
Levich's pupils dilated slightly as he looked at the unstoppable extraordinary being. He raised his spear in vain and stabbed with all his might.
But the Chaos Lord's spear was faster than him. Before Levich could react, he was pierced through the abdomen by the spear and flew into the sky.
The mortal's warhorse was killed on the spot by the impact of the steel bull demon, and no matter how thick the armor was, it could not protect it.
The Khorne Steel Bulls pushed the corpses of the warhorses deeper, but there was nothing behind the Winged Hussars lined up in a row.
The Chaos Lord picked up the mortal impaled on the spear and slapped the demon repeatedly, trying to make it turn and rush towards other enemies.
Levich endured the severe pain in his abdomen and looked towards the north in mid-air.
The other Winged Hussars did not encounter any terrible disaster. Just like the thousands of knights in his memory, even the death of their leader could not shake the Winged Hussars' will to continue fighting.
What was different from what he remembered was that when the spears in the wings came to the front of the Chaos Warriors, these Chaos Warriors were actually shaken by the Winged Hussars. They at least took several steps back, and many of them were even knocked down and never got up again.
Not only were they smaller than what Rivetsch remembered, they were also much weaker.
But this could not change the fate of the Winged Hussars. There were too many Chaos Warriors. After knocking down the enemies in the front row, the horses that had lost power were knocked down by axes and halberds, and the warriors on horseback also died under the axes.
A huge force was transmitted along the spear to Levic, and he was thrown into the snow-covered grass as the spear swung for an instant.
The last thing Levich saw before he lost consciousness was the Steel Bull charging at the fallen warriors who were struggling to hold out against the Chaos Warriors.
At night, before Teclis and the inexplicably delighted old human man reached an agreement, Lynch had already continued his journey south.
The first group to run into Lynch was a Chaos Legion that was resting on the spot. Among them, there were very few Chosen Ones who were larger than Chaos Warriors, but most of them were Chaos Warriors.
Only the leading Chaos Lord poses a threat to Lynch. At the very least, he has the ability to break the scales of the Lizardman and knock him into a pool of meat paste. But the prerequisite is that he can touch Lynch.
With a rune sword, even a farmer has the ability to threaten the big demon, but no one will regard a farmer as a threat.
A short-haired human with a dusty face, wearing a dirty old sweater and looking like a farmer, approached the grassland where the Chaos Legion and the Winged Hussars were fighting during the day.
Even compared to the Kislevites, it seemed too big. It was so tall that it looked like a Norscan or the Nehekhara who had been destroyed thousands of years ago.
Its cold eyes searched among the corpses, and soon it found its target.
Almost instantly, the "farmer" approached the corpse lying alone in the snow not far from the slope.
The pale and majestic figure stood in front of Levich's body. On its solemn, unchanging face, the thin lips were no longer tight, revealing two sharp teeth.
Levich slowly woke up, and the first thing he felt was an inexplicable thirst for blood.
An uneasy premonition spread in his heart. When he stood up from the night sky and saw the battlefield littered with corpses, the strong smell of blood gave him a strange sweetness.
His empty brain gradually woke up, but his body was faster than his mind. When Levich regained his sanity, he had already sucked the blood of the dead warhorse and was heading towards his next target.
He stopped moving abruptly. Pain and regret filled the undead's heart, and he ran away from the sweet human blood as if running for his life.
Strong emotions filled Levich's mind, and before he went crazy, he suddenly saw the traces left by the Chaos Legion on the ground.
Levich took out the sword passed down from generation to generation, and followed the dense footprints in a daze as he chased after the Chaos Legion.
When Lynch pounced on the Chaos Legion at the edge of the Troll Kingdom, the first people to greet him were a group of Chaos Warriors who volunteered.
They soon turned into debris flying in the air. Human heads covered with head armor, flattened shoulders, and hands still holding weapons flew into the air and scattered on the ice.
The blood spread from north to south, spreading killing wantonly.
The frenzied death slowly approached the Chaos Lord. With the cry of "Blood Sacrifice to Blood God", the Chaos Warriors who rushed forward one after another were enough to give the Chaos Lord enough time to escape. However, the Chaos Lord of Khorne would only face the enemy head-on.
They are the most powerful enemy breakers among the Chaos Lords, but they are facing the "Army Breakers" who emerged victorious from the disastrous battlefield of Lustria.
The Blood God created them to serve as weapons against the ancient races, and now he has fulfilled his mission.
