Chapter 390: Inviting God
Amid the advocacy of the Sea God believers to their gods, Lynch walked across the long street bridge, which was also a lush neighborhood.
There are simple wooden boats everywhere under the bridge, and among the river boats there are ocean-going vessels that can go out to sea. In the most crowded places, people can even ride on small boats to the other side of the river.
From the bridge you can see the Temple of Ersun in the east, which occupies the upper reaches of the river on the hillside and is as lively there as on the bridge.
The black temples of Mor stand in the southern corner of the city. Lynch had no intention of visiting them. However, when passing by the golden temple of Daha, the lizardman passively sensed the faint sounds of prayers.
It was a wonderful experience. He seemed to be able to possess some devout believers in the temple and allow these mortals to perform miracles that did not belong to them.
Strictly speaking, every believer who can be sensed by Lynch is his chosen one. Before entering the highest heaven, he already has a huge number of believers left by his predecessor. All human beings who believe in the God of Fire from the bottom of their hearts are his "chosen ones."
Because these mortals can borrow the miracle of controlling fire from Lynch, and those miracles only require Lynch's simple emotional ups and downs, or feedback from his will.
Of course, compared to a true great wizard, the magic of an ordinary priest is just a trick that is not worthy of being shown on the stage.
But compared to the high priest who was blessed by God, the mages lost their pride, because no one knew whether the high chanter was equivalent to Sigmar for a moment, and no one knew whether Archpriest Ulric could be equated with the White Wolf God in battle.
There are always one or two lucky demons who encounter the idols worshipped by mortals when they attack the temple.
The flow of people on the street increased again, and only became sparse when Lynch walked to the ice palace of the Ice Witch.
There were many witches carving ice sculptures in the half-floating ice tower, mostly local epics describing heroes and monsters. Lynch only recognized the sculpture of the founder of the Griffin Legion fighting the griffin.
This famous Winged Hussar regiment was named after their commander, who adorned his crest with griffin feathers.
Elaborately depicting these mortal stories was not something a proud ice witch would do, and Lynch naturally thought of the discussion of the Tsar's marriage in the tavern.
Just as the Lizardmen were passing by this neighborhood, some wizards who might have special abilities also noticed the Lizardmen walking leisurely among the crowds.
A small commotion spread among the witches, and when they realized that most of their peers did not see the vague outline of a ball of fire, the most fearless wizards also vaguely guessed the unrealistic truth.
"I saw a huge fire! A fire that lit up the whole of Erlengrad!"
"No, Natalie. If the wind of fire fluctuates, my second sight will see it."
While the young witches were still arguing, the older ones who had been affected by ice magic for a longer time had already calmly discussed the possible truth - the Daha Sun Tour.
Even the oldest witch had only glimpsed Daha's patrol of the world in legends. In the mythology of Kislev, the rising and setting of the sun marked the Daha's patrol and retreat.
Of course, no witch believes in the three gods of Kislev. They only worship the ice god - Misaka, the legendary founder of Kislev.
It is just reverence, not faith at all.
For wizards who study magic on a daily basis, the existence of gods is unquestionable but bland. Many witches only regard Misaka as a pioneer rather than truly believe in her.
It is said that it was Queen Misaka who signed a contract with this cold land, which gave the witches the power they now wield.
Even though they do not believe in Daha, the witches think this is a good omen. They were once children of ordinary families in Kislev, and they once sat around the fire in the cold winter and at night listening to their elders telling the myth of Daha.
Especially since they are about to have a special day.
They will return to the royal city of Kislev, and they will become an official organization, not a witch cult circulating among the people.
At such times it is advantageous to publicize the visions concerning the three gods, Esun, Thor, and Daha.
The people of Kislev do not trust wizards, and even local witches will be viewed with tinted glasses. But if the gods that people believe in allow, this small barrier will melt like an iceberg in early spring.
Based on the visions seen by some witches, the wizards built a fire on the platform at the top of the ice tower where they could see the sunlight.
A faint singing voice sounded around Lynch's soul. The rough melody was sung by a soft female voice, mixed with the vague prayers of mortals.
The lizard man glanced at the tower behind him strangely. Perhaps at this moment, it would be more effective for the witches to shout "The devil is coming" instead of performing a sacrificial dance around the fire.
He lazily basked in the sun, ignoring the witches' actions, and walked straight towards the elf area.
Compared to the witch's ritual dance, he was more curious about the biography written by the mysterious secretary of God Eugen.
"Your struggle?"
Lynch asked Eugen directly, causing the oracle who was writing furiously to stop writing in embarrassment. As an oracle with the vision of the ancient saints, he could certainly see the lizardmen clearly.
"A fictional story. You should know what a story is. Perhaps in the future this will be read by scholars in the empire and regarded as a classic."
"I remember your name is Eugen, not Diederick Kastner, and you are an imperial." Lynch almost revealed his emotions. This name was given a new name a hundred years later, "Archaon".
"This doesn't mean that the characters in my works have to be named Eugen. I think it's hard for you to understand some of human's habits. In short, 'I' can also be Diderik." Eugen argued cunningly, winking at the lizard man for a while, and after finding that the other party was indifferent, he continued his writing.
Lynch was watching openly. He didn't think that a devout knight would fail in the selection of the Knights of Sigmar, nor did he think that a strong warrior with Norse descent would flee in a tavern riot. There was a logical error in the Oracle's plot.
The prophecies about Archaon had already appeared, and Lynch did not think that Eugen's playful collection of stories would change the future.
The Archmage expressed his thoughts and opinions on Eugen's fictional literature from time to time, while the Dwarf looked weakly at the approaching wall of the Elf District. It seemed that the Elf envoys had received the news first, and there were already Elf soldiers standing guard at the entrance of their district like a guard of honor.
The elven warriors carefully examined the carriages passing by. When a carriage with the emblem of a human noble drove by, the alert elven captain ran into the depths of the street first. Not long after, the neatly dressed elven ambassador to overseas, Tasis, slowly walked to the door.
