Chapter 146 He Disappeared

Chapter 146 He Disappeared

A green light flashed on the half-whale, half-boat monster, and the next moment, the fat rat man disappeared.

The strange boat dived immediately, and by the time Lynch reached the beach, it was completely submerged in the water.

By the time the wizard arrived, it had already disappeared.

When the dwarves reached the shore, the only thing left on the empty beach was the foam pushed by the waves.

The monotony on the lizard man's face made it impossible for others to see through his thoughts. No one knew whether he was discouraged when he gave the order to continue northward.

The elves were used to the peculiarities of the cold-blooded species, the dwarves did not care much about other people's expressions, and only humans were not used to a leader who did not show any emotions.

Glenn was still immersed in the sudden outburst of divine power by the lizardmen and the spells cast by the wizards during the previous battle.

He was not surprised by Teclis's great magical power. After all, he was the Supreme Grand Master of the Imperial Academy of Magic. Although those wizards were unreliable, they always had the means to create a big commotion.

The only thing that surprised Glenn was that the lizardman moving from stillness was like a steam engine being started.

Glenn thought back to the large reptile he encountered on the moonlit night, and suddenly he wasn't so surprised anymore.

After all, this is a humanoid monster that can wrestle with monsters.

It was the first time Glenn saw the living, legendary "Thorous", and he was much bigger than Glenn had imagined.

During a trip to Marienburg, Glenn visited and viewed the remains of Thoros from an expedition group that had returned from the ocean.

But the skinny lizard that was originally kept in the glass box was almost the same size as a normal human, while the Thoreaus he was following now was taller than the wooden house in the slums.

On the contrary, the lizardman who came to tip off on a pterosaur was more like the "Thoras" that Glenn had seen at the beginning.

Lynch trudged slowly ahead, preparing to find a suitable place to camp and let the team rest for a while.

The dwarf no longer had the energy to argue with Asur, which was enough to show how tired he was.

The team became surprisingly quiet until the sun rose completely and Lynch found a high ground and began to set up camp, then it became noisy again.

The wizard chanted spells, shaped a small wooden house, and added several spells to it to ensure that the house was sturdy and hidden.

By the time Tigris stopped casting the spell, the wooden house had disappeared from everyone's sight, and only Lynch could confirm its existence through perception.

Teclis swung his sword lightly, cutting the boundary between mystery and reality.

He gestured, inviting the travelers to come in.

The Lizardmen and Asur were used to such wonders. The dwarf fell strangely silent, looking around with his big eyes.

When the witch hunter exclaimed, Sorian slapped him on the back.

The dwarf coughed awkwardly several times and defended his "friend": "He has always been so ignorant of the world. I wanted to take him to see the majestic mountains, but he always likes to crawl around in the shabby buildings of humans and thinks they are luxurious palaces."

The Swordmaster of Hoth named Ledin subconsciously opened his mouth, habitually wanting to ridicule the dwarf, but his companion named Hotar had already spoken first.

The Archmage continued to draw magic circuits in the house, while the Lizardman occupied the throne by the window.

The quarrel between the dwarves and the elves went back to ancient times.

As expected, Teclis was furious about this, and Ledin sat in his hammock, complaining in his heart about Hotar's stupidity.

After being reprimanded by his mentor last time, Ledin understood Teclis' bottom line and no longer looked back on the history of the war between the dwarves and the elves.

Fortunately, after the admonition, Hotar went back to find the hairless monkey and stopped competing with the dwarf.

Le Ding vaguely remembered that Hotar didn't like lower races before, it seemed that the war changed him.

After the thrilling accident at the Kara Temple, Hotar became somewhat of a closed-off person.

After leaving the place called Sky City, his personality changed completely.

Ledin lazily lay in his hammock and provoked the dwarf, but he was careful to avoid sensitive topics.

The human began to tell another spirit his story, what happened during the exorcism.

Lynch suddenly stood up, pushed open the huge window, and went out in full view of everyone. Not long after, he caught a giant snake and began to skin it outside the house.

Ledin was startled and immediately stopped arguing with the dwarf and rushed out of the house.

After some kind persuasion, Swordmaster Hoth took over the responsibility of cooking from the lizard man.

This prevented him from hearing human stories that could remind him of his own.

Lynch shook off the blood on his body, walked into the house, returned to his seat, and stared out the window as he listened to the conversation between humans and elves.

"When we were ready, the demon disappeared."

"Did you scare it away?"

"I thought so at first, but on the ninth night, a witch hunter claimed to have found a clue and led us into a trap woven by the devil."

"Is he a hidden devil believer?"

“No, he was more pious than all of them, and he had been blessed by the great chanter.

After narrowly escaping the trap, I determined the source of the anomaly based on my recollection.

He used to be an introverted guy, but on the third night, after he destroyed the statue of the devil, his temperament changed.

But I usually don’t pay attention to him and don’t think much about it.

In fact, after three thrilling nights in a row, everyone was extremely tired, and even I was unusually irritable.

On the sixth night, the traitor spoke more. He quickly got to know us again, discovered the invasion of the shadows in advance, and led us to fight off the demons.

He became so reliable and articulate that we suspected he was under some evil influence, but he voluntarily drank several glasses of holy water, paying the price of half a bucket of extra urine."

Glenn noticed that the elf's expression became strange. This proud guy had a sarcastic smile on his face, and it was unclear whether he was laughing at Glenn at that time or at his ignorant companions.

Glenn continued to narrate, and he subconsciously looked at the lizardmen. The lizardmen's weapons glowed like the sun again. The elf named Hotar was bathing in the sunlight, looking very comfortable.

The witch hunter felt the light was dazzling, so he simply closed his eyes and lay down in the hammock.

“I should have anticipated that my colleague, whose temperament had changed drastically, must have encountered the most terrible darkness.

I saw him again later, outside the Emperor's carriage in Reikland.

I tried to warn Magnus the Pious, but was driven out by the Reik's Guard.

The corrupt man who had trapped eight witch hunters became the Chancellor of the Exchequer after just a few months of absence.

I simply cannot imagine that Sigmar and Ulric's chosen could not see through this darkness."

"And then?"

"Then he disappeared."

"Was it on last year's mysterious night?"

"How do you know? I thought elves didn't like to pay attention to human courts."

Glenn opened his eyes curiously, and at the same time, the elf's gloomy and old voice sounded.

"Look who I am."
