Chapter 47 The Last Guardian

Chapter 47 The Last Guardian

Below Lynch’s familiar panel layout, skip over the vaguely visible racial atlas.

Symbols that seemed to be encrypted language were glowing. They were broken up under the starlight and then reassembled into a map.

Numerous symbols were scattered on the map. At the location of Itaza, the chief of all cities, the rays of light were reflected and swept across all the runes.

After the glow of the sunset, the symbol in the same position as the Star City Asroto bloomed with a dreamy brilliance.

The awakening city of Huta was also lit up the next moment, but there were still many dim symbols.

Some are in Lustria, some are at sea, and some are in the Old World.

All the runes were vaguely connected, and the colorful light projected a key.

On that illusory key, there was an ancient inscription left by the ancient saints:

"The Godslayer."

Lynch looked carefully at the ancient sage's puzzle; it was obviously not a math problem.

Based on the two locations that were lit up, Lynch believed that he had to go to the cities marked by all symbols to activate the key.

As for the "God Killer"? Lynch guessed that it was some kind of weapon, possibly a biological weapon, or a special device made by the ancient saints.

Those who are considered as the primary enemy by the ancient saints are most likely the dark gods.

This is most likely a secret weapon specially created to restrain chaos. I just don't know if it has been completed. If it was really effective, the ancient saints wouldn't all have disappeared.

But no matter what, this gave Lynch an idea.

What if? Lin Qi planned to activate the key after the war to see what treasures the ancient sage had hidden.

More and more living creatures fell asleep, and the elves took turns to keep watch. Neither race completely trusted each other.

When dawn came, the magic swordsman still did not receive any revelation from the moon goddess Lilith.

The next day they only encountered some roving greenskins. There wasn't even a warlord to unite them, and the soldiers wiped them out effortlessly.

Getting closer to Itaza, another seven days of walking would require passing through a canyon, a great place to set an ambush or be ambushed.

There would usually be chameleons keeping watch in the canyon, and Lynch just hoped that nothing would go wrong at this important location.

You know, there were once 50,000 greenskins who tried to pass through the canyon to attack a lizardman settlement around Itaza.

Less than ten chameleons took advantage of the terrain and fought and retreated, and they wiped out all the greenskins outside the settlement.

The same can be done by replacing the Chameleons with more numerous Ratmen or Demons.

Once the canyon is lost, the support of the temple city east of Itaza to the leader of the cities will be completely cut off.

At night, the evil moon was in the sky, and the terrible light of Morslieb was scattered in the jungle.

The birds and beasts became quiet, as if they were also avoiding the light of the evil moon.

After settling down, the soldiers strengthened their protection.

The evil moon interfered with the astrology of Obamon and the priests, and no one could tell whether the night would be good or bad.

During the boring wait, some sea guards inevitably miss their hometown.

Asul picked up leaves and played a tune from his hometown. A strong sense of homesickness enveloped the hot-blooded person.

Lynch looked at the demoralized Asur and did not stop this behavior that would disrupt the morale of the army.

He was not the commander of the elves, and Obamon did not seem to intend to disturb the hometown violently.

The magic swordsman also sang the folk ballad of Itain, and when the song ended, he changed to the sea boat song.

Influenced by his commander, Asur also began to sing the barcarolle sporadically.

Then, the song about the resistance war sounded distantly in Lynch's ears. Although he could not appreciate it at all, he could only judge the emotions in it based on the changes in the sound.

The tune that suppressed the anger ended, and the soldiers cheered up again.

The cold-blooded species only felt that they were noisy, and the skin lizards had been talking for quite some time.

From time to time, the Stenks would consult Asur in the Elvish language about his situation. They were very curious about the hot-blooded people's changing emotions.

Ever since Asur formed an alliance with the cold-blooded race, every stationing has been bustling.

The lively actions and emotions of the warm-blooded people diluted the indifference and boredom of the lizardmen.

But this only affects the Stenks. The lizardmen and giant lizards have never paid attention to Asur and only cooperated with the elves in the battle.

Compared to the active-minded Skinks, they are more like tools than living beings.

Lynch knew that the Thorns had tiny emotions and would become angry when the land they protected was violated.

They will even take the initiative to retaliate against invaders after the city is destroyed.

There was a famous example as far back as eight thousand years ago.

After Obamon dealt with the soldiers' problems, he climbed onto the back of the Triceratops and tried to find out some secret history from Lynch.

Lynch recalled the past of the Scar Lord Kuja, and also told the story of the last guardian.

The holy name of the ancient saint Ashhoto, and also the name of a temple city.

As the Skinks interpret the Old One, Ashhoto is the place where those destined for greatness are born.

The lizardmen born in this city are extremely powerful, carrying the divine marks of the ancient saints. Most of them can survive the trials of the battlefield and become commanders of the legion.

They even have a subtle telepathy with the Tyrannosaurus and can communicate with each other on a spiritual level. Kuga is the strongest among them.

The great city was eventually destroyed by the demonic invasion, and although the guardians won countless legendary victories and destroyed many demonic legions, the fate of other cities was the same.

The devil can lose countless times, but the lizardman will face a devastating end if he makes a mistake just once!

The tide of demons forced the guardians back into the city, where they relied on Slan's protective magic to resist the tide of demons.

Following Lynch's flat tone, Obamon fell silent, recalling the suffering that Ulthuan had endured during the Cataclysm.

The story continues, and some elves who can understand the language of the Lizardmen gradually come closer.

The power of magic is unstable, especially when the demon called Lord of Change appears on the battlefield.

The surging power of chaos was controlled by the Great Demon, tearing open the space and allowing the demons to bypass the Lizardmen's defenses and rush straight towards Slan, who was concentrating on maintaining the protective barrier in the Great Pyramid.

The lizardmen had no time to react, and the temple guards protecting Shilan bled to death. After the big demon broke through the defense, he easily killed the Shilan wizard.

The Chaos army joined forces from both inside and outside and submerged the ancient city.

But Shilan's soul is different from that of ordinary people. Even death can be stubbornly pushed away by their strong will.

With Slann's final blessing and the Lizardmen's fury over the fall of their city, Ku.Ga led the Lizardmen to fight their way out.

In the centuries that followed, the last legions of Ashhoto roamed the rainforest, never ceasing to wreak murderous vengeance on the rampaging demons.

When the Great Whirlpool was established, the demons were exiled, and only Kuja and his Tyrannosaurus Rex survived.

For the last guardian of Ashhoto, the battle is never over, and it continues to fight the ancient war until its death.

Lynch narrates the unknown history slowly and leisurely, and the gradually thick unclean smell in the air disturbs the tranquility of the story.
