Chapter 5 Sneak Attack

Chapter 5: Sneak Attack

Lin Qi retreated to the fork in the road and chose another way to continue forward.

The temple-style buildings disappeared, replaced by scattered stalactite forests.

There were no marks of rat-men on the rocks, no smell of rat-men in the air.

Lynch remained alert and moved silently among the stalactites of various sizes.

Nothing is absolute. The ratman clan called Eshin is good at assassination. The absence of traces of ratmen does not mean that they do not exist.

There might be an Eshin assassin hiding in the tunnel! Skaven have always been the biggest threat to the underground of Lustria, and Lynch has to be wary of these despicable creatures.

The cowardly slave rats could not pose a threat to Lynch, but the special ratmen were no less powerful than the elite of other races.

Going further, the rocks on the right disappear, and along the coast is a disturbing underground sea, with sea water even flowing into the stone forest.

Lynch waded through the shallow water. On the opposite side were messy stone piles, and further away were fluorites emitting green light.

The many slender figures among the strange-shaped rocks made Lynch stop.

Lynch crawled behind the pile of rocks, and recognized the other person's identity with his cold eyes.

A group of dark elf raiders! Unlike the pirates they encountered before, these Druzis were better equipped, and there were even three sorceresses holding magic wands.

The leading dark elf held a whip in his left hand, a spear in his right hand, and wore a ridiculous pointed helmet.

Of course, this does not seem funny to the victims. The cruel souls under the bullet-like helmets are enough to be terrifying.

Lynch was not afraid of them. He always looked down on those scum who took pleasure in bullying the weak.

If there was a team of Thoros around him, Lynch would dare to use the terrain to ambush these stupid hot-blooded people.

But he was alone.

Even if he could kill the leader of the Druzai, he would die at the hands of other elves.

Unlike the Skaven, organized Druzi are more difficult to flee.

Killing the leader of the ratmen will cause them to scatter, while killing the leader of the dark elves will only make Druzy fight to the death in despair.

Druzy, who abandoned his leader and fled, would be severely punished after returning to the dark elf society. It would be better for him to die quickly.

If they can kill the murderer, they can gain the Witch King's forgiveness and be accepted back into the dark order of Druzy.

Hundreds of elves gradually approached Lynch's position. The torches in their hands illuminated a large underground cave. From time to time, dark elf scouts returning from exploration joined the team.

Lynch could hear faint conversations, but he couldn't understand the Elvish language.

Omarin was horrified, for he had lost the beast which he had offered to the Great Witch-King.

Although the Witch King disappeared in the recent war, no Druzil would question his power and majesty.

The Dread Lord of Clar Karonde was no exception. If Omarin failed to recover the beast, the venerable Lord would flay Omarin for the Witch King! It was all the fault of those vile Asur! Couldn't they just stay in Ulthuan and wait for the arrival of the Druzil army? By Cairne, the Asur sea lords were like crazy, attacking Druzil slave ships everywhere, and even the island-like Black Ark was in trouble.

Hopefully Admiral Maxigach can draw the sea lord's attention, giving Omarin enough time to retrieve any beasts that escaped during the battle.

Of course it would be even better if he was killed by that sea lord.

That Asur is just like a Druzy! Omarin would love to see his enemies die at his hands.

Some disturbing rumors have been circulating in the team. Omarin executed a shadow who added fuel to the flames, but he did not dare to exert pressure anymore.

The Shadow Swordsmen were all desperate criminals, and Omarin was not sure whether they were loyal to him.

Maybe they were happy to let Omarin fail so that they could make way for other tamers with higher stakes.

Glancing at the high-level sorceress who was surrounded by the "Silent" spearmen, Sorceress Theresa became impatient.

She seemed eager to return to Clar Karond immediately and let Omarin face the wrath of the Lord of Dread.

Omarin knew that she was the spy of the damned Supreme Sorceress Moras! Even if the Witch King disappeared, he would not be loyal to that disgusting witch! Who knows if the great king is hiding in the dark waiting for the betrayer to show up?

Lynch quietly took a detour, trying to avoid this group of dark elves.

The complex stalactite forest on the left is like a maze. In order not to get lost, Lynch can only move forward cautiously along the water vapor in the air.

There were also many scattered dark elves exploring the stone forest with torches in their hands.

Fortunately, the flames exposed their position far away.

The Dark Elves of this world are not underground creatures. During the first Chaos invasion, they lived on an island called Ulthuan.

After Chaos left, the High Elves fought among themselves and split into two hostile parts.

Lynch found it difficult to understand their thinking. The great enemy of Chaos still lingered in the world, but they were short-sightedly fighting among themselves and wasting their strength to resist the devil.

There were more and more dark elves wandering around, and Lynch stopped behind a stalactite, feeling a bit caught in a dilemma.

"bite!"

The sharp blade that emerged from the darkness hit the scales on Lynch's neck, and the crisp sound of the collision was drowned out by the sound of flowing water.

Lynch turned around cautiously, but saw nothing.

There seems to be an invisible enemy in the shadow of the rock. Fortunately, Lynch had strengthened his scales before, and his tenacious vitality will provide Lynch with a very high tolerance rate.

Lynch had already guessed that the dark elves did not have such ability.

An assassin from Clan Eshin. Without a doubt, only the short and agile Skaven could attack so casually and hide in an instant.

If Lynch is an outlier among the skinks, a master of stealth, a chameleon, then he can easily lock onto his target with thermal vision.

But Lynch is a lizard man, and even with his keen sense of smell he cannot smell the assassin's scent.

The Old Ones underwent many modifications, and while they are all cold-blooded, the Saurians have lost their ability to sense heat, replacing it with more refined sensory enhancements.

Lynch listened to the faint sound of footsteps. In addition to the footsteps of the dark elves in the distance, there was an even fainter sound.

The sound of the surging waves in the underground sea affected Lynch's judgment. He couldn't lock on to the target for a while, and he couldn't even be sure whether the other party had already circled behind him.

I hope these dark elves are not colluding with the ratmen. It is very likely that they are not connected, otherwise those elven swordsmen holding torches should have surrounded us together.

The enemy is in the dark and we are in the light, but a confrontation is gradually forming.

The Eshin Assassin was very cautious. After realizing that he couldn't break through the defense, he stopped attacking and just kept moving around to interfere with Lynch's judgment.

With the sound of breaking through the air, a poisoned dart approached Lynch in the blink of an eye.

This undisguised attack naturally made Lynch wary, and he rolled on the ground to avoid the dart.
