Chapter Twenty-Two
Cheng Xiangdong returned in the evening.
Cheng Xiangbei was diligently wiping and washing with a rag.
Cheng Xiangdong's face was slightly flushed, and his breath reeked of alcohol. Cheng Xiangbei handed him a cup of strong tea. "Drinking again?"
"How can I not drink while eating with Brother Han!" Cheng Xiangdong took the cup and breathed a sigh of relief.
The room was quiet. Cheng looked around and asked, "Is Nannan asleep?"
"Okay." Cheng Xiangbei nodded and took the rag to the tap to wash it. "The water's all hot, go take a shower!"
"Got it!" Cheng Xiangdong laughed, "Tiger, why do I feel like you're becoming more and more like a nanny?!"
"Go away!" Cheng Xiangbei shouted angrily, pushing his brother into the bathroom.
After taking a shower, Cheng Xiangdong felt much better. He sat down on the sofa while drying his hair and saw Cheng Xiangbei coming out of the kitchen. He asked, "Aren't you going to sleep yet?"
"I made some rock sugar pear soup for Nan Nan, would you like a bowl?"
Cheng Xiangdong smiled and said, "No, I'll just have some tea."
"Brother, you're not leaving again this time you're back, are you?" Cheng Xiangbei sat next to him, refilling his tea and water.
"Well, I'll start my internship at the company next week. It takes time, right?" Cheng Xiangdong leaned back on the sofa, saying lazily, "What about you? What are your plans?"
"Me?" Cheng Xiangbei smiled and said, "I plan to start my own business after graduation, and Nannan plans to take the postgraduate entrance examination."
"Start a business? In what area?"
"I do practical work related to my major, while Nan Nan focuses on technology."
Cheng Xiangdong nodded. "I understand, but don't you plan to work for your family's company back home?"
“Brother…” Cheng Xiangbei cried out. “I get goosebumps just thinking about our family company! So many branches, so many employees, can’t we hire professional managers?”
“It is possible, but not now,” Cheng Xiangdong said seriously. “Establishing a modern corporate system takes a long time, and radical reforms will cause many problems. There are so many employees, and their families. To be a qualified leader, one must bravely take responsibility.”
"This responsibility is too heavy. Can I go my own way?" Cheng asked the ostrich.
"Alright, I won't force you." Cheng Xiangdong patted his younger brother's head and smiled, "Go do what you like to do!"
Cheng Xiangbei leaned on his brother's shoulder, slowly realizing the weight those shoulders would bear. He said slowly, word by word, "Brother, thank you."
Cheng Xiangdong paused, then patted his head after a long while. "What nonsense are you talking about? I'm your brother."
On the first weekend after the start of the school year, Long Jiu Mo came to his door.
Cheng Xiangbei arranged to meet him at a fast food restaurant near the school. Upon hearing that Long Jiumo was coming, Lu Nan's face darkened. "Why is it him?" Cheng Xiangbei asked with a wry smile. "He came to my house during summer vacation," Lu Nan said, wrinkling her nose. "You didn't tell me." "I thought it was nothing at the time!" The two talked as they walked towards the fast food restaurant.
Inside the clean, bright glass window, Long Jiu Mo occupied a table all by himself. Seeing them approach, he smiled and waved. Lu Nan sized him up and had to admit that this guy was becoming more and more presentable.
"Lu Nan, it's been a long time," Long Jiu Mo said.
Lu Nan nodded reluctantly and sat down next to Cheng Xiangbei.
"Please have a seat, I'll go buy some drinks." Cheng Xiangbei said with a smile, "Long Jiu, would you like a refill?"
"No, thank you."
Cheng headed north to join the queue, leaving Long Jiu Mo and Lu Nan sitting awkwardly opposite each other. Lu Nan had absolutely no liking for this person, but since they were in Haicheng, and given their alumni and fellow townsman status, she couldn't exactly refuse him.
“I’ve always known you two have a good relationship, but…” Long Jiu Mo paused, then continued, “It’s really rare to see you still being so close even in college.”
Lu Nan thought to herself, "What business is it of yours how good our relationship is?!" But facing this guy who seemed like both friend and foe, nothing she said would be appropriate. She could only manage a couple of forced chuckles. Only when Cheng Xiangbei returned with the drinks did the two of them breathe a sigh of relief. Their personalities were definitely incompatible; sitting face-to-face was incredibly awkward!
"Nannan, your hot chocolate." Cheng Xiangbei opened the lid to cool it down for him, then pushed a cup of coffee towards Long Jiumo. "Here, have another one!"
Long Jiu Mo smiled at him. "Thank you!"
Cheng Xiangbei sat down as well, waited for his coffee to cool slightly, and then took a leisurely sip. "You've come all this way, is there something you need? Or should I treat you to a meal?"
"I'd be delighted if you invited me to dinner," Long Jiu Mo said. "However, there are some things to consider."
"What's up?" Lu Nan asked.
Long Jiu Mo smiled slightly and said, "I've booked a car. Let's go hiking together tomorrow!"
"Hiking?" Cheng and Lu exchanged a glance. Although autumn was indeed a good time for hiking, it was still a bit unprepared. And... what was Long Jiu up to?! "Just the three of us?" Cheng Xiangbei asked.
“And two of my friends,” Long Jiu Mo said.
Lu Nan's eyes darted around, and she asked nervously, "Boy or girl?"
"One man and one woman."
"Hmm..." Lu Nan nodded. It seemed they were a couple, which put her mind at ease.
As the group was talking, someone tapped the table twice.
Looking up, she saw Yu Mufeng, who was staring at Lu Nan with an unpleasant expression.
"Xiao Yu?" Lu Nan asked in surprise. "Come, come, sit down with me!"
Long Jiu Mo silently made way for Yu Mu Feng, who sat down without any hesitation and asked, "Lu Nan, why aren't you living in the dorm anymore?!"
Lu Nan blinked, looking blankly at Cheng Xiangbei. Did it matter to Yu Mufeng whether he lived in the dormitory or not? Cheng Xiangbei smiled and secretly pinched his thigh. Lu Nan came back to his senses and said, "Oh, Tiger and I moved out."
"The bunk beds in the dormitory have been retained," Cheng Xiangbei added.
"Where did you move to?" Yu Mufeng pressed.
Cheng and Lu exchanged a glance, Lu Nan looking even more bewildered. Cheng Xiangbei smiled and asked Long Jiu Mo, "What time do we depart tomorrow? Are we meeting at a certain place, or will you come to pick us up?"
"Where to go?" The topic was changed, and Yu Mufeng couldn't help but follow up.
After carefully observing the interaction among the group, Long Jiu Mo smiled and explained, "We're going hiking. Would you like to come along?"
"Is that okay?" Yu Mufeng asked excitedly.
“Sure, it’s a nine-seater station wagon, but there are only five people on it right now.”
"Then I'll have to bother you." Yu Mufeng nodded.
"How about we set off tomorrow afternoon, stay overnight there, hike the mountain the day after tomorrow morning, and return to the city in the evening?" Long Jiu Mo asked.
Lu Nan nodded dejectedly, while Yu Mufeng watched Cheng Xiangbei's undisguised joy, though Cheng Xiangbei remained expressionless.
As soon as Lu Nan came out of the fast food restaurant, she pouted.
"What's with that Long Jiu? They clearly have no connection, yet they insist on hanging out together!"
Cheng Xiangbei patted his head and laughed, "Don't be angry. Leave room for maneuver so you can meet again in the future. We're all from the same place, how could we become mortal enemies?"
“I just hate him!” Lu Nan muttered.
"I don't like him either!"
"Hmph! I can tell you're only interested in him. What else could this be but liking him?" Lu Nan said awkwardly.
"Silly Nan Nan, who do you think I like? Who do you like the most, ...
“I’ve always remembered the evil things he did to you.” Cheng Xiangbei put his arm around his shoulder and said seriously, “But revenge also ruined his future. Of course, he’s doing quite well now, but some things can’t be remembered forever. Let’s wait and see!”
"That guy is an ingrate! We can't trust him!"
"Yes, yes, I remember it all!" Cheng Xiangbei raised his hand and swore.
Lu Nan snorted through her nose.
Back home, Lu Nan started cooking, while Cheng Xiangbei cuddled up beside her.
"Go away, get out of here!" Lu Nan waved her hand while wearing an apron.
"Nannan, you look so good in an apron!" Cheng Xiangbei circled around him.
"What's so special about an apron?" Lu Nan looked at the apron she was wearing. It was blue and white checkered with a Scottish Fold rabbit embroidered on it, and there was a pocket next to the rabbit—it was just a promotional item from the supermarket!
“Yes, the apron isn’t pretty, but the person wearing it is,” Cheng Xiangbei said lecherously.
Sensing his unspoken meaning, Lu Nan glared at him. "Go away, are you going to eat or not?"
"I want to eat you..." he drooled, rubbing against her.
Lu Nan glanced at the oil-covered spatula and refrained from slapping it. "Let me finish cooking this dish first."
"Nan Nan..." she cried, clinging to him playfully and swaying her body against his. Lu Nan exclaimed, "Don't move! The vegetables are going to spill!"
"It's alright." Cheng smiled radiantly. "It's good that you're still in my arms!"
"You filthy tiger, you're so lecherous!" Lu Nan scolded.
After finishing the cooking with a distracted mind, Cheng Xiangbei scooped Lu Nan up in his arms. "Come on, baby! Let's have an appetizer first!"
"You pervert!" Lu Nan pinched his ear.
"This pig is only after you!" Cheng Xiangbei tossed him onto the bed and grinned as he pinned him down. Lu Nan had been suffering from a cold for several days, which he had endured, but now... hehe, time to get started!
"Wait, let me take off my apron first!" Lu Nan groaned as she was pinned down.
"No." Cheng Xiangbei grinned and kissed him, then quickly pulled down his pants. "This apron is so pretty, wear it!"
"Ahhh, you perverted tiger!" Lu Nan awkwardly wiggled around as a tiger kept kissing her butt.
"Baby, be good..." Cheng Xiangbei's voice deepened, and the air instantly became ambiguous. Lu Nan lay on the pillow, quietly raising her bottom to bring the delicious treat to Cheng the Tiger's mouth.
"Ah...slower, slower..." After a long foreplay, the two finally became one, and fine beads of sweat appeared on Cheng Xiangbei's forehead as he almost lost control of the speed of their thrusting.
"Nannan? Does it hurt?" Cheng Xiangbei kissed his earlobe to comfort him.
"Okay, okay..." Lu Nan breathed a sigh of relief, slowly clenching her buttocks. Sensing the signal from his lover, Cheng Xiangbei groaned excitedly... "Let's get started! I won't stop even if you cry!"
“Ah… silly… tiger…” Lu Nan hooked her arms around Cheng Xiangbei’s, pinching him tightly. Cheng Xiangbei was lost in desire, swaying Lu Nan rhythmically. “Baby, so tight… mmm…”
"Ah... Tiger, I can't take it anymore!" Under Cheng Xiangbei's caresses, Lu Nan's body tensed, and his scalding fluid splattered onto Cheng Xiangbei's hands. "Nan Nan..." Cheng Xiangbei kissed his hair, increasing the speed of his thrusts, their limbs intertwined. "Mmm..." Lu Nan groaned, staring blankly at Cheng Xiangbei. "Tiger..." A soft, gentle voice roused his lover's entire mind. Cheng Xiangbei kissed Lu Nan's lips fiercely, releasing his seed of desire onto Lu Nan's thighs at the last moment.
Feeling immensely satisfied, Cheng Xiangbei hugged Lu Nan and kissed her on both sides.
"You idiot, you got it on me again!" Lu Nan bit him.
Cheng Xiangbei quickly wrung out a damp towel to wipe him down. "Don't be angry, it didn't get inside this time!"
"You dare to do that inside?!" Lu Nan kicked him, but her body was still limp from exercising, so she didn't manage a strong kick. Cheng Xiangbei grinned and grabbed his foot, kissing it. "No, no, come on... let's go take a shower!"
"I won't wash!" Lu Nan protested.
"Why?" Cheng Laohu was very disappointed.
Lu Nan saw right through his little scheme: go to the bathroom and take advantage of him again? Humph! "I'm hungry, let's eat first!"
"Okay!" Cheng Xiangbei lowered his head, tucked Lu Nan in, and kissed his cheek. "I'll go heat up the food, be a good boy!"
"Okay!" Lu Nan rolled around with the quilt, making Cheng Xiangbei want to pounce on her again.
"Nannan..." The voice was so gentle.
Lu Nan glanced at him sideways. "Get lost!"
