Chapter 204 Godparents

The three little ones shuddered and froze instantly.

Hongfei was the first to react, taking a step to the side to clear himself of the blame: "It wasn't me, I didn't do anything, Mom."

Hongyu quickly moved to her brother's side: "It wasn't me either."

All eyes turned to Xiao Qin Shi.

Xiao Qin looked at Hongfei and Hongyu with a mournful expression: "..." They are so disloyal.

"Xiao Shi?" Xing Zhaozhao was somewhat surprised to see Xiao Qin. "What are you doing here? When did you arrive?"

“Grandpa Qin and Grandma Qin arrived just in time, and he came right after them,” Fu Lan said as she walked over.

Hearing the commotion, Grandma Qin and the former headmaster came out of the house. When they saw Xiao Qin, they were both shocked: "Xiao Shi? What are you doing here?"

“I came with you,” Xing Zhaozhao said.

"You've been following us the whole time? Why didn't you call out to us?" Old Mrs. Qin asked, puzzled.

Xiao Qin pouted and said, "Who told you to be so sneaky? You didn't tell me anything about what was going on at home. I just want to know what you're up to."

“You can ask us, there’s no need to follow us secretly,” said Grandma Qin.

Xiao Qin looked over seriously: "Alright, tell me, why did you suddenly come to find Sister Xing so early in the morning?"

Grandma Qin choked for a moment, then hesitated before turning to exchange a glance with the old headmaster.

Although they hadn't discussed it beforehand, they had all tacitly agreed not to tell him about Qin Shi from the other world, as there was no need for him to know.

When Xiao Qin saw his grandparents' expressions, he understood their decision, and his eyes welled up with tears of grievance: "See? I asked you, but you still wouldn't tell me."

"No, that's not true." Grandma Qin quickly took Qin Shi's hand to comfort him. "Your sister Xing came to our house yesterday and brought your grandfather some incense-making spices. As you know, she didn't charge your grandfather a single penny. She told us to settle the bill later when she makes money. She has helped us so much. Your grandfather and I came here specifically to thank her properly."

As she spoke, Old Mrs. Qin turned to look at the old principal and Xing Zhaozhao, seeking their support: "Is it, Old Qin? Is it, Little Xing?"

The old principal and Xing Zhaozhao nodded quickly: "That's right, that's right."

Xiao Qin looked at them with suspicion: "Really? Then why did you sneak off to see Sister Xing so early in the morning without telling me? You could have just told me and asked me to come with you."

"Of course, it's not just about that..." Old Mrs. Qin's eyes flickered as she spoke, racking her brains for any other excuse she could use to fool her eldest grandson.

"Is there anything else?" Xiao Qin asked.

Grandma Qin couldn't think of anything, so she quietly nudged the old headmaster with her elbow, asking him to help her think of something.

The old principal was at a loss for what to do, and he couldn't just leave his wife behind. Just as he was racking his brains, his gaze inadvertently swept over Xing Zhaozhao beside him, and a flash of inspiration struck him. He quickly came up with an idea.

When he looked at Xiao Qin, he said, "Oh, your grandma and I saw that you get along well with your sister Xing and her younger siblings, so we wanted to ask her if she would be willing to become godparents so that we could visit each other more often. We don't know if it will work out, but we didn't want to disappoint you, so we kept it from you."

Xiao Qin's eyes lit up. He looked at Old Madam Qin and asked, "Really?"

Grandma Qin was relieved to find that she had been fooled so easily. She met Little Qin's bright eyes and quickly nodded with a smile: "That's right."

After saying that, she secretly gave the old principal a thumbs up. As expected of their Qin family's son, he's got so many clever ideas.

"Then Sister Xing..." Xiao Qin turned to look at Xing Zhaozhao expectantly.

Grandma Qin and the former headmaster exchanged a glance, their hearts sinking simultaneously. Oh no, they hadn't coordinated with the other party involved yet.

The two of them then turned their heads and looked at Xing Zhaozhao pleadingly.

Meeting the expectant gazes of the three generations of the family, Xing Zhaozhao paused for a moment, then smiled happily. Her eyes sparkled, and she nodded, saying, "I think it's okay, no problem."

Both Grandma Qin and the former headmaster breathed a sigh of relief. Finally, the matter was considered settled.

The two elders looked at Xing Zhaozhao with eyes full of gratitude.

Little Qin Shi's face was full of joy: "So, does that mean I'll have a big sister in the future?"

He turned to look at the bewildered Hongfei and Hongyu brothers beside him, and proudly puffed out his little chest. From now on, he would be an uncle, an elder.

Unfortunately, his little dream of becoming an elder was shattered by a slap from Old Mrs. Qin.

“What sister? Call her aunt.” Old Mrs. Qin corrected him.

Xiao Qin rubbed his head, which had been slapped, and said somewhat unhappily, "But I've always called Sister Xing, 'sister'."

“From now on, call me Auntie,” Old Mrs. Qin said without further ado.

"Oh," Xiao Qinshi could only nod in agreement.

“Now that we’ve become godparents, we’re family. Godfather, godmother, and Xiaoshi, why don’t you stay for dinner today?” Xing Zhaozhao said with a smile.

Even knowing it was fake, hearing Xing Zhaozhao call them "godfather" and "godmother" warmed the hearts of Old Mrs. Qin and the former headmaster. So what if it was fake? It was still more reliable than their own biological children.

"How about that..." Old Mrs. Qin was about to refuse, but when she saw Xing Zhaozhao's smiling face, she was too embarrassed to finish her sentence. She smiled and nodded, changing her mind and agreeing, "Okay."
