Chapter 86 The Same Person

There was no sound on the other end of the phone. Lin Wan frowned and asked again, "Hello? Why aren't you saying anything?"

The call was immediately disconnected.

Lin Wan was stunned: "...What's going on?"

She called back, but no one answered, even though she had just called.

Undeterred, she dialed again, but still no one answered.

Feeling that things weren't going as smoothly as expected, Lin Wan's face fell. What exactly went wrong?

At this moment, her daughter Chen Xiaoxia pushed open the door and walked in. She was only in her early sixties, but her face was full of wrinkles, her hair was gray, and her face was lifeless. Her mental state was far worse than that of her eighty-year-old mother.

"Mom, Uncle Gao is here," Chen Xiaoxia said to Lin Wan expressionlessly.

Lin Wan put down her phone and looked over: "Let him in."

Chen Xiaoxia responded with an "Mmm" and turned to leave.

A moment later, Gao Mingzhi strode in, sat down directly in the chair in front of her, and asked, "How's it going? Do you want to cooperate? We can take advantage of Gao Mingcheng's current state of decline and stir things up for him."

Lin Wan glanced at him indifferently, picked up her teacup, and took a leisurely sip: "You said Gao Mingcheng found a young wife who looks like Xing Zhaozhao, but she hasn't shown up yet. How are you going to interfere?"

Gao Mingzhi waved his hand dismissively: "Just pick one, it'll do. Anyway, Gao Mingcheng hasn't woken up yet, so no one can prove it's fake."

Lin Wan scoffed dismissively: "Gao Hongfei isn't stupid. You can pick anyone. Gao Mingcheng not waking up doesn't prove it's fake, but it doesn't prove it's real either."

Gao Mingzhi looked annoyed: "Then what do we do?"

He stared at Lin Wan for a while: "What a pity. If you were fifty years younger, you could try it yourself."

Lin Wan couldn't help but roll her eyes. She wanted to, too.

"Don't rush, I've found someone suitable, but he has a bit of a temper and we'll need to work things out with him," Lin Wan said.

Gao Mingzhi's eyes lit up: "She looks like my second sister-in-law?"

Lin Wan nodded, and thinking of Xing Zhaozhao's appearance, she was momentarily stunned, and said, "They are practically identical. If you saw her, you might really believe that reincarnation exists in this world. They even have the same name."

Gao Mingzhi's heart skipped a beat: "Also named Xing Zhaozhao?"

"Mm," Lin Wan nodded in response.

Gao Mingzhi couldn't help but recall the time he encountered Gao Mingcheng and Xing Zhaozhao at the breakfast shop: "The one I met with Gao Mingcheng before was also..."

"Is it possible for two people to be exactly the same at the same time?" he asked Lin Wan.

Lin Wan had heard about it from Gao Mingzhi before, and only knew that Gao Mingcheng had found a girl who looked like Xing Zhaozhao, but she didn't know how much she looked like her. Now that she heard it, she also felt that something was wrong.

"Could it be the same person?" she wondered.

Gao Mingzhi nodded seriously: "That's quite possible."

Lin Wan then suddenly realized: "No wonder even that shrewd old man Gao Mingcheng got caught up in it."

A confident smile slowly curved her lips: "If that's the case, as long as we can discipline that little brat and make her behave, this time it'll be a sure thing." It's much easier than when she was a mother to Gao Hongfei, a task that took her a lot of effort.

Gao Mingzhi looked at Lin Wan with anticipation: "Really? Wasn't it said that you had a bad temper?"

Lin Wan thought of Xing Zhaozhao's shabby clothes and said with a confident smile, "For a poor person, as long as there is enough money, there is no temper that cannot be overcome."

Back in her cellar, Xing Zhaozhao, nicknamed "Poor Ghost," took out the cloth bag containing 1 million yuan from her basket and casually placed it in an inconspicuous corner. She was still thinking about Lin Wan, having specifically hired someone to follow her in an attempt to find out where she lived and what she was up to.

There's no such thing as being able to guard against thieves for a thousand days if you're thieving for a thousand days. If you're careless one day and she notices something's wrong, it'll be troublesome. After all, she's not her Mingcheng...

Xing Zhaozhao's eyes flickered, and she quickly made a decision in her heart.

The next day, Xing Zhaozhao went to town, first to the black market, and delivered the goods she had brought from there to Brother Fei.

I thought it would be the same as before, just a batch of fabric, but I didn't expect there would be thirty more radios.

Fei was overjoyed: "Sister Xing, you're going to be my sister from now on."

Xing Zhaozhao's lips twitched slightly: "You're older than me... why call me 'older sister'?"

Fei Ge said dismissively, "It has nothing to do with age; it's about respect."

Xing Zhaozhao ignored him and waved her hand at him, saying, "Whatever. I have something to do, so I'm leaving first. You can handle the rest yourself."

"Okay, Sister Xing." Fei Ge replied with a smile and began to carefully inspect the batch of radios.

After leaving the black market, Xing Zhaozhao went to Dacheng Street. Having made such a large sum of money from Qin Shi, she wanted to repay him properly, at least to ensure that the old principal and his wife didn't leave so early, and so that little Qin Shi could have someone to rely on.

Xing Zhaozhao had never been to Dacheng Street before and didn't know the way. She asked many people for directions and took many detours, but in the end, she still got lost.

Just then, she saw a girl in a floral dress walking down the road ahead and quickly caught up with her: "Excuse me, I'm lost. Can I ask you for directions?"

The girl turned to look at her. She was about fourteen or fifteen years old, with two braids, and her delicate face looked so familiar.

Fu Lan.

Xing Zhaozhao stared at her, stunned.

Fu Lan blushed with embarrassment at being stared at, and looked at her with concern, asking, "Sister, are you alright?"

Xing Zhaozhao snapped out of her daze and said with a smile, "Sorry, I was so captivated by the pretty girl."

Fu Lan's face immediately turned even redder.

"My sister just said you're lost. Where are you going?" she asked.

"I want to go to Dacheng Street," Xing Zhaozhao said.

Fu Lan's eyes lit up: "What a coincidence! My home is on Dacheng Street. Come with me, it's not far ahead. I'll take you there."

"Thank you so much," Xing Zhaozhao said.

"Sister, you don't need to be so polite," Fu Lan said, continuing to walk straight ahead.

Xing Zhaozhao quickly followed.

"I've never seen you before, sister. Are you here to see someone?" Fu Lan asked as she walked forward.

Xing Zhaozhao nodded and pulled Lin Wan out: "My cousin moved to Dacheng Street a while ago. I happened to have some free time today, so I came to see her."

"Could my sister's cousin be Sister Wan?" Fu Lan asked.

Xing Zhaozhao looked at her with feigned surprise: "You could guess that?"

Fu Lan smiled and said, "You two look so alike, it's easy to guess."

As they were talking, the two arrived at the entrance of Dacheng Street. A small figure carrying a tattered sack rushed out from inside and, before they knew it, plunged headfirst into Xing Zhaozhao's arms.
